It is all about being presentable.  In job seeking you need to be presentable and neat.  The first impression does have an effect on employment.  Besides, employees have to interact with other people so they need to be really presentable and look neat.  Between two skilled applicants, the one with a pleasing personality and presentable will always be the choice.  I think only naive people will think that it is ok to have skill only and lack personal presentation.
Well, indeed an appearance can even have an impact on effectiveness in several types of work such as sales, shop assistants, bank employees, hotel employees, luxury restaurant employees. Indeed, we cannot fully judge a person from his appearance alone. but we will appreciate people who work in totality and maintain their appearance as in several fields of work that really require appearance to attract customers. but for a freelancer, appearance is not a benchmark. because even freelancers work from home and apply only via email or in other ways that are not directly face to face. so the conclusion is that appearance is important in some types of work and not so important in other types of work.

It is true, if you find for a job you have to be neat and presentable. I've remembered a video that I've watched from some Canada that he's trying to help those less fortunate people and the ones who are living on the streets.

There's one guy that he has talked about although I'm looking at that guy as sort of cool guy with his outfit. When he's been interviewed, he mentioned that he can't take interviews with what he's wearing from.

And in a business, you don't to meet someone who don't wear right attire and deal with whatever business they've got.

Depending on the type of job, the importance of the dress will be determined. Some jobs related to marketing and management require a certain style of clothing that is different from the rest of the jobs. Therefore, the examples you set may not be accurate for all cases.
I didn't fully understand what you mean in certain point of your explanation, but from the scenario, for the aspect of dress in work, i believe that in some point dress doesn't be regarded as anything in some jobs, i believe that any management have their discipline to certain extent and the criteria we be as results of they rules and regulations, which if you have not ascertain it depending their wish they will not absorb you as their applicants, I'm reacting over this depending your opinion.

I have always heard this saying: You would be addressed the way you are dressed . This also connotes that you should address people the way they dress or appear. In my location you must wear a suit, a shirt tucked in good pants with a tie, or a well-tailored native attire, to prove that you are ready for business or employment. Wearing a jean, T-shirt or any casual wear is indecent in business and you would be treated like an unserious individual. But over the years I have learned that appearance can be deceptive, this has made me treat people or business prospects by their behavior, ability, and productivity and not by appearance. Some reasons for my decision are:

1. Good appearance doesn't guarantee quality: A so-called not properly dressed applicant might be more qualified and knowledgeable than a well-dressed prospect. Therefore it would be proper not to judge them by their appearance.

2. Scammers and criminals hide behind attractive appearances : To deceive people, some criminals dress presentably because they want to divert the attention of their targets. In my location, most Ponzi scheme operators always dress corporately at all times, just to give the people the feeling that their funds are in the custody of responsible persons.

3. Limited time: Thinking of what to wear can be time and strength-consuming. Most people that are too busy with work or other engagements might not give adequate attention to what they wear. As long as the clothing is clean and good to wear, they are okay with them.

4. Weather condition: It is very important to wear clothing that suits the atmospheric condition at a particular time, but most people especially in Africa don't understand this fact. I have been forced to wear a three-piece suit under the hottest sun I have ever experienced because my organization wants me to look presentable and corporate. I was sweating like a Xmas goat and all my clothes got soaked. But a T-shirt. a pair of jeans and a simple shoe would have given me the smartest look at that time.

5. More attention to the inside: Some perceived poor dressers feel that the mental and emotional well-being of an individual supersedes the physical looks. They believe that virtues like creativity, interpersonal skills, selflessness, contentment, etc are far better than appearance.

6. Poverty: indeed, looking good or corporate might not be very expensive but the truth is that some persons cannot afford them. Some individuals cannot provide a meal for themselves because of poverty. It would be unfair to look down on such persons maybe during interviews or business proposal meetings because they are not well dressed. He might be the most qualified.

It is good to look nice and attractive but looking down on people that you feel are not well dressed might not be the best option.

It can be highly dependent on your skillset these days, if you are a low level worker doing an easily replaceable job then it is likely that you will have little leeway in what you can wear. Sometimes your uniform is given to you if you're a front-of-house service type worker or maybe you get to choose some plain clothes if you are working in a factory or warehouse. Office jobs do tend to offer more potential and the more unique your position, the better chance you have of getting away with choosing your own outfit, but it is still a great idea to keep it professional because you never know who you will meet at work. It can always open doors and even impress senior executives.

Goodnight, o_e_l_e_o 🌹
What affects our life most is trend. When something becomes a trend and everyone is involved in doing it, no one would bother to ask the reason why it is done so. For instance, Christianity goes to church on Sunday and I can say that more than 80% of Christians don't know the reason they go to church on Sunday but due to it is a norm that has been before they were born they took up from there.

I truly doubt that anyone I had got the guts to appear in an interview without dressing official. Meanwhile the company did not specify their type of dress but due to the fact that everyone has been in suits and locking themselves in ties,it becomes the trend and anyone doing something other than that would be regarded as the full.

It depends on the kind of industry you are in, there are jobs in which your image is indispensable, obviously you still need the skills necessary to get the job done, but if someone got the skills plus the appearance and you only have the skills then you are not getting the job over them, however there are many other industries in which as long as you have the skills the way you are dressed does not matter at all, this is especially true now when it comes to the jobs which can be done remotely.
Good appearance should always in complement with good character. That way, you will always be a role model to the rest of your co-workers. Of course, skills are included in it that makes you more a total package. However, for some jobs that don’t require dress code, as long as you have the skills and the character that will be your asset, I think you will always be accepted and acknowledged.

I imagine this would be a requirement of the job itself. Appearance is an essential element in everything related to human communication. If you work in the field of sports, it is better to be an athlete in order to be more convincing to the group.
If we take into account the relative specificity of the concept of beauty, then the appropriate appearance must be present in every place. However, bearing in mind that the construction worker will have a decent appearance with clothes that confirm his profession better than a uniform that imparts a mysterious symbolism.
There are many academic investigations that study the influence of appearance in business. Almost all of them emphasize its importance.
If ethical issues are concerned, ofcourse. It is a sense of professionalism. To some, appearance has something to do with performance but it would really emphasize work ethics or even boost employee's sense of workload and task related concerns. But I disagree with discrimination concerning employee's uniform. At the same time, indeed it would boost one's confidence to perform his/her job. If it is employment which is concerned, it would be a plus ofcourse to recruitment team because putting effort with your attire means devotion with one's work and goal, so it would really play a huge role with employee's character.

The important thing is that we can adapt to situations and conditions. And if we are in the office, we must wear clean clothes. And even though we have tasks outside the office, we also have to dress clean and comfortably so that it doesn't interfere with our work.

As long as we dress cleanly, people will not suspect us, especially if we can be kind to them. This will also make them comfortable communicating with us so that we can establish a good relationship with them.

from everything you wrote I have a conclusion.

It is true that a person who looks neat does not guarantee that he is good and professional. but at least someone who is well dressed has the characteristics of being clean, neat and diligent. clothing as a symbol of one's originality.

and actually we don't need to see people from their appearance but from their skills or expertise in the fields needed in the company. but at least if someone wants to apply for a job in a company, they have to look neat, they don't have to be fancy. if someone wanted to apply for a job and only wore sloppy clothes and pants, which CEO would accept that while the way he dressed didn't respect the company's place.
so for me it's natural for a company to look at appearances first to accept new people to be employed at the company. because looking neat starts with being polite to other people or at the company place

Dressing matters a lot not only for business and employment but in everyday life, where ever we found ourselves. I have been in a journey that I used a commercial vehicle,  we got to a point where security officers were searching passengers to see if they will find any incriminating but because of how was dressed I was not searched like the other people that was in the vehicle just because of my appearance. Sometimes we trace where people come from by dressing, same way people are defined by their dressing.

When it comes to employment dressing, good appearance counts , bad appearance can reduce the chance of someone from having job. The way every individual would prefer to do things with people with good appearance,  that how it is also in employment and business too .

We can't deny the fact that in all fields of life, people will always judge us based on our appearance. The way we dress up has a huge impact on how people will treat us or respect us especially in business and employment. If we'll dress properly, clients and customers will be able to address and trust us easily. If we'll dress unrespectfully, it will be hard for us to earn the respect and trust that we need at work. People will always base their level of respect toward us based on our physical appearance.

when we become a worker, say a bank employees, of course, so that customers trust and pay attention to us, of course, we have to give a good impression in appearance, the same is true when we become an entrepreneur to increase the trust of others so that someone works with us by looking neat of course they will believe in the quality of discipline of a businessman.
because how will other people believe the business we run while we ourselves don't care about ourselves (appearance). because basically someone who sees the quality of others from what he sees.

Yes, I consider appearance to be important. Psychologically, when you dress well other people automatically perceive you as more successful, trustworthy, more sociable, more competent, and happy. In fact, just by dressing well, you can get your foot in the door of any organization because you would have made a good first impression. In addition, when you dress well, you are more likely to get hired, close a deal.

Right, appearance is of course a very important thing when doing business or work, if our appearance is not convincing it will be difficult to be accepted by work or consumers, especially now my job is the marketing department so I really need maximum appearance from shoes to glasses.
Our appearance is our first impression in the eyes of consumers or customers. If our first impression is good, consumers will trust us more. However appearance is very important, especially when it relates to the business or work we do. Yes, maybe not everyone who looks good can be competent at his job, but by looking good it can be said that we are serious at work. Of course a company will provide standards in dress so that it is not too demeaning or excessive and also related to what field we work in.
That is true, because to care for your appearance means you are a zealous and clean person, therefore there are good chances this mindset will reflect positively on your work.

Moreover, it's undeniable everyone prefers to talk and deal with a good looking, charismatic and sympathetic person. It express credibility to customers and an example of that are the scammers themselves, as they try to emulate this trait when applying their schemes.

On the other hand, nobody should be disrespected and rejected due to their clothes.

For construction workers, they are quite the same as most of the professions. They do not usually wear ties since it is usually worn by white collar workers, but there were some instances that some people just wear one just to add to the formality.

As much as I hate dress codes too, I got no choice but to follow it since I would likely be treated differently if I was wearing a different suit. Like if there was a scenario that everyone was wearing black suit and I was wearing brown ones, the whole board meeting might think of me as someone from a different department or even different company. The appearance of businesses and mode of employment should be considered because of the nature of the job must bebto the satisfaction of the employer and same way to the employee as well, they both must have a given target to fulfill as an obligation to their required standard, the appearance of the business is what create it's first encounter with people on a particular type it is or what it represents to offer.

Depending on the environment in which you move the effects of dressing up are different, if you work or want to work in an industry in which everyone is always trying to look their best then if you do the same you will not make any positive impact, but at least you will avoid giving a bad impression to your peers, while not dressing up will make you stand out immediately in a bad way and this could create a bad first impression which in many cases is more than enough for you to not get the job.

You have a point, but still, it is a plus for the HR or the one interviewing you that you dress well. In terms of employment, I usually notice when I am still applying for a physical job (not online as I am working now remotely) as long as you dress that is appropriate for the office job, that is fine, there no need to be fancy, but there are other private establishments that it requires you to be in a polo shirt or long sleeves before you are interviewed. Still, comparing it to an IT company that I applied to before for a programmer position, the applicants are not dressed formally as they are looking for skills.
