No shame in my game. Its not like I put my 401K & childs college fund on black & lost. Its all about fun and moderation.
There is nothing shameful about being a gambler, whats the shame of trying to earn some money the easy way. Its only shameful when one spends their entire savings just to win money. Being a compulsive gambling addict, that is the real shame.
Yes, I agree with you mate, There is nothing shameful about being a gambler. because gambling its source for fun and for profit. So you can do that for one of them or for these 2 things. Anyway, I will be sure people who played gambling juste for fun. They will be very happy and feeling so good. I felt this feeling. It's amazing. Most of my games are not for profit. It's only for pleasure, I always consider gambling is a source for fun.
I think shaming people for gambling is totally wrong, especially if it's seriously addicted gamblers who are being shamed. Usually it's people with depression and they need support, but shaming only makes them more depressed and disconnected, which leads to even more addiction and losses. Also there are people who gamble responsibly and just have a great time, so it's very unfair to call them addicts or crazy.

We really can't deny that there are countries, societies and cities that doesn't allow any gambling activity. They don't realize that gambling is one of the fastest growing industry in the world. And if they are going to allow tax on it, they will get profit. But well that's their belief, if they think that gambling is the work of lazy, then so be it.
Maybe some of them are right because gambling is really addictive and the government just want to prevent their people from playing there so there would be less cases on bankruptcy or something.
Not just some of them, all of us know that gambling is truly addictive and there's no way that can stop it when a person starts to enjoy, experience to win and become addicted. I respect those culture because I know it too, even in my family gambling is restricted by they don't know that I'm gambling though I'm not ashamed of it.
If it's legal you can at least regulate it, so people don't get scammed and have some help when they become addicted.

So are you saying that you are keeping your secrets of gambling with your family? I admire you for that but sooner or later they will found out about your secret gambling and you don't know if they will accept it in a positive way. Gambling is not even legal in my country as I live in Bangladesh. So if the question comes about gambling in open place,I will definitely try to hide it from my friends and families. But many people does open gambling in our country as they are so much addicted to it even losing most of the time. And if it comes about online gambling I can do that easily and nobody will know about it so I don't have to put an effort to hide it from my friends or families.

I agree as long as it is legal in one country a person should not feel ashamed being a gambler. A Person should feel that way if he is neglecting his duties and responsibilities to his job and family due to gambling. But as long as he is doing his part in everything, gambling should not be a thing to be ashamed of.

That can be shameful if you are not a responsible person and you are making gambling in your first list before your family and duties. And that is making gambling as a bad habit if that is bringing them a very bad result. I'm just hiding that I'm gambling because I wanted to hide it since my family already knew about it.

There would be no meaning if you look for your entertainment or source of income by breaching your social value. You will lose your status even you come out as a winner in gambling. I personally will not prefer this.Some people might take it as a serious thing in some occasion while some will see it as a joke. Im sure that alot of people will see it as a negative thing so perhaps being silent about it is actually much better
But dealing about how others will think about our gambling activity through being silent must need lot of passion and experience. Because we do usually get breakdown when somebody is teasing and making ourselves shameful. When a lot of people emphasise one thing, why not we just quit gambling for the sake of our family ?

People in general thinks that gambling is bad so even if you're not around high profiled people, you will be ashamed of gambling. It's the same thing as random sex, smoking weed, and other stuffs. You have to be around people that have the same interest or do the same things even occasionally for you to not get judged. Just avoid talking about gambling as much as possible and only talk about it when either you know the person you're talking to is into gambling or the topic just came naturally.

Depending on where you live, if you live in a country where gambling is an act of crime then it is going to be not only shameful but it is a problem. Some people may not have any issue with that however it is best not to say anything that is related to you being a gambler, hiding it should be much better in many ways
It actually depend on your social lifestyle. If you are mixing around those high profile people who focus is on business and investment, gambling can be seen as a weak investment tool so you will feel shame sharing these information with them. However, if you have a social group of gambling, you dont mind sharing your gambling experience with all the related people and they will accept you for who you are.
