Yes and there is nothing wrong in gambling and I don't see any reason to be ashamed of it as after all we are not disclosing to people around us that we are into gambling as we can easily do it with bitcoins and no one around you would come to know about that.

That's the hardest part when we gamble or being a gambler. When someone has to see our times of being a loser especially with bigger amounts. Though it really doesn't matter as it is our own money used for gambling. It is shameful if we used to gamble with the money that we are not owning. It's a shameful thing for being a gambler.

I'm not ashamed because I gamble, why would I be? I'm doing something that I like and there is no reason for shame. I gamble responsible, and I never lost more then I can handle. I'm sure that addicts feel ashamed because they lost someone else's money, and they are in deep problems because of the gambling, they have reason to feel ashamed for their activity, me no! I gamble for years, and I like to talk about my experience in gambling with everyone who share interest in gambling.

That is true, gambling in sports betting and poker is different. In those kinds of gambling, it requires a lot of skill and it is more like a profession better than a gambling game. You can't make dice games gamblers a profession since there is no way you can influence your luck if you have so much skill and experience in those games.

I am surprised I haven't seen this thread before. Shameful for being a gambler ? Maybe, in the early days where I didn't use to win money and had ups and downs playing poker. But ever since I have become better in poker, and sportsbetting, I don't consider these to be pure gambling, so it brings no shame to me.

Betting on pure gambles does however make me a little ashamed.

If i gamble with my own money-no.

If i had to borrow money from someone to gamble-definitely yes.

But i will never borrow money to gamble,so it`s ok.

For me, NO! I don't feel shameful for being a gambler because there's nothing wrong in playing gambling games. My earnings doesn't went from dirty strategies. I only bet in some gambling sites and then earn. For me, it's upon on a person oh how she/he will look in that situation because for me, if you don't do anything that is against others that's not bad.

I do agree the fact that you could lose a lot of money in gambling ,being ashamed is not a bad thing and most of the time you have to accept the loss. I am not ashamed for being a gambler because i am not a full time gambler.I do wage once in a while and what is there to be ashamed in it.

That's a good mindset, you care what you do and not on what other people are saying because we know what we are doing and we are responsible enough to face the consequences of our actions. Having fun in gambling is the same with entertaining yourself, it so happen that it's our way while for others they are more on shopping, watching a movie, or go travel. It does not differ at all as long as we enjoy what we are doing and we control the risk.

Yes we can't accept that we lost and it's getting harder to accept if someone witnessed and sees our lost. That is what some gamblers are worried of because I did understand and know the feeling that someone seen your greatest lost and that will bear in their mind. It's better to lost if someone doesn't know it and there's nothing to be ashamed of, but that case is different.

That is what he is called for, he is called as a gambler because he is very well attached with it. That's why most of the gamblers has a title for it. And of course if we are winning then we certainly loving the way that we are earning because we know that we got money and won some good amount which won't make us disappointed.

A gambler addicted who use others money is not ashamed because other don't knew it But ,when the time come and other people knows ,stories are everywhere thats the time that a gambler feel ashamed . As long as you gamble with your own money ,you do your job and you are responsible father/(family member) there's nothing to feel shameful .

As there is a lot of difference when talking about culture and habit at certain place.
In some country there's no harm to gamble in public while in other country gambling considered as a big sin or even worse.

Gambling is only a negative overall if done excessively, its definitely not the poorest which do it. Everywhere Ive seen have betting as a rich mans sport, you have to have something to gamble beforehand and the poorest dont. Its like any potential vice, in moderation its fine but it can also exploit that part of humanity which is ready to take risks some of which are needed for survival.
Some people do extreme sports like parachuting or climbing to get their kicks and others take no risks or expend effort in any direction at all and maybe die of poor health from it. Nobody is perfect, I prefer sports gambling personally because I think thats more interesting and involving but a small bet on anything is fine.

Losing is part of what makes gambling challenging and what makes people like me, addicted to it. The logic in losing is that you'll strive hard to regain the multiple amount you loss. There is nothing shameful about losing since in the first place its your own set of choices and decision you partake. As a gambler i dont hide the fact that i do gamble, theres no reason for me to neglect the fact that i venture for my own pleasure.

Well there's no issue with striving hard for the amount you've lost but the thing here is you're doing it not through hard work but by leaving it to chance. There's a bigger chance of you losing more that way than getting your losses back. I don't think this is a good outlook towards gambling and losing. Though i also don't see the need to be ashamed if you gamble on your own and you're being responsible for whatever you do.

Yeah, it seems irrational to be ashamed of losing and hide it from everyone else but practically shout it off the rooftops when you win. People who win the lottery are definitely not ashamed but were the odds in their favour? Of course not.

Gambling naturally results in loss eventually of course, but if you do lose you shouldn't dwell on it and hide yourself. Gambling is perfectly safe if you're responsible and don't bet with everything you own. The important thing is probability and this will act regardless of whether you win.
