Well, I earn money from gambling, and I occasionally win a large sum, but I only gamble for fun, and if the capital is lost, I stop playing and gamble again the next day.
However, when you add up all of your losses and wins, I still lost a large amount in comparison to my profits because what I play is not a skill-based game, and I usually win a lot of money from slots.
I believe that the only people who make a profit are those who play skill-based games or sports betting because they can analyze the game, compared to slots or arcades, which are all programs that cannot be beaten.
So I think there's someone who can earn money from gambling if they stay with skill based games.

Yes I do gamble to earn money, successful? If it is meant to be about overall result, I cant really tell about it because I have no exact data on how much I've lost and I've won.
But if successful here is meant to be for different case, I can say that I'm successful in my gambling journey for years.
Successful here means that my gambling habit is not affecting my life negatively on financial, emotion, relation, etc.
If I can control myself, I can start and I can stop at anytime as I wish then it is already a success for a gambler IMO, at least for not getting addicted is already a success if you ask me.

I have won a few bucks from gambling but I can't say that I have made enough money to say that it can sustain me for a long time. Which is why it is not the main reason for me to gamble. If I get lucky then I can accept it but otherwise I would not force myself to try and make money. I also do not expect myself to be successful in making money to sustain myself and my family so I do not want to depend on gambling for my main source of income. 
it's really hard achieve a profit after many years of gambling.
if you trade your odds and chance of win its something diffferent... you become more trader and not still a gambler.
However, to become a profitable gambler you need to have a lot of skills, experience and knowledge.

I didn’t vote on that pole but I believe no matter what choice you pick there you will still experience a hard time to become successful in gambling mostly because of the house edge of all games.
The only way to become successful on gambling is be quick on gambling and stop immediately the moment you won. You will suffer an inevitable loss if you make your gambling late game.
I will vote to earn money but I’m not successful in gambling if we will consider my past losses despite my successful run on my current gambling career in last 3 years.
I really like that thread as it exposed much. For example it has brought about this further conversation. There are times when I gamble for the money. Do I always win, no. In fact the last win I had when my intention was to win money, was less than $15. I couldn't even withdraw it. Well it is just going to be there. The next time I play may be because I want to experience the adrenaline rush and not exactly for the money. I know that consistent wins are not possible but it you lose most of the time then something is wrong.
