Unfortunately, we can't apply that argument of being concerned for animals when we talk about how big the market is for that kind of gambling.
Not sure about dog racing but I think that's just for fun and not much available market for it. But in horse racing and cockfighting, it's been ages already since it was accepted as part of the gambling industry. Obviously, we can't see their respective betting options on casinos or usual sports bookies as in most cases, it has a standalone platform for betting.
Nothing we can do about it especially against at those. Take it or leave it or just continue to ignore those as that kind of gambling will stay "forever".
Are you telling me there are betting markets on cockfighting? That is absolutely disgusting. Any betting platform who has markets for this should lose their license immediately.
Who has the authority to revoke the license of those if, in the first place, the said gambling is legal in a country? Only those illegal operations are being shut down by the authorities, the same goes for other illegal gambling activities.
Yes, there is a betting market on it and it's wild. Actually here in our country, cockfighting is legal. But since the pandemic hits the country, a new version of betting was born and was called online cockfighting and it becomes trendy here since for just barely $1 to $2, anyone can start betting without the hassle of going into a real cockfighting arena and understand how betting there works. Although currently, online cockfighting was suspended until further notice.
One of the popular online cockfighting operators here, Pitmasters, claimed that they were generating around $13.4 billion annually in wagers. That's how big the industry here is and one of the best sources of revenue for the government.
Disgusting as it is for others but again, take it or leave it.
