Yes, I think it would be a good start. Followed by education so that people can see for themselves the silliness of the religious texts (winged horses, splitting moon in half, virgin birth etc).
I think we solved the race problem, for the most part. Nationalism is still an issue IMHO.
Politics will always be there as long as we have democracies. It is a way to organize people into easier to manage groups.
Money and power will always be there. How else can you exchange goods and services?
BTW, wars are always about resources.
