It's legal in my country to have a gun but I don't have gun. In fact no one in family have gun. But my neighbors/ area mates have different kinds of guns. Let me share with you my experience of gun. When I was in my 10th grade I was sleeping and suddenly woke due to noise around me that thief broke into our community. Everyone was saying bring my gun.......when I came into street what I saw that there are different kinds of gun people were holding. I was really shocked after watching this. When I asked one of my friend why you have this gun. He said it's for our personal security.
and would you feel confident and safe, if had in the hands of weapons? course in the world today a lot of injustice, evil and crime, but at the same time I want to have some guarantees for calm life.

No, I don't have because it's hard to get a permit here in our country. There's a series of tests and certification before you can get a permit to buy and carry a gun. I really think this is good because not everyone is capable of bringing a gun.

People should have guns for protection because there is no better way to defend your home or property in case of a robbery.

How is a little old lady going to defend herself against 2 or 3 intruders in the middle of the night?

The fact is, guns are not scary or bad. Slingshots, blow darts, knives, baseball bats and bow and arrows are equally as dangerous. In reality, there are evil people who wish to do innocent people harm, and you have to be ready to defend yourself against these attacks. Would you go into the wilderness without protection? If someone started beating you up would you defend yourself with your hands?

Likewise, self-defense is a right and I guarantee you if you are ever in a situation where you are getting robbed you will wish you had a gun.

People should use the guns only if they have any threats to their life; only for the purpose of self protection they should use the guns. Otherwise common people don't have any reason to keep the guns. Agreed with you, self defense is everyone's right and if someone wants to keep the gun then they should follow the government procedure to avail it and no one should keep the guns illegaly.

Gun ownership is a critical issue that is taken differently in every country and society alike. I think gun ownership is justified when you really need it for purpose of protection and safety, we have to understand that even if we would want to always see the best in people, there will always be some who would take advantage of you and may hurt you for their own advantage. On the one hand, having a gun can affect one's appraisal of power and authority, which can be a cause of misjudgment because they might feel superior from the fact that they have a gun on their belt. Ownership of firearms should be governed strictly to protect its owners and non-owners alike.

I don't have. I have mix idea about having a gun. It is advantage though to have it if your in the environment that you need to have sort of protection from outlaws but I personally don't prefer it. Let our gun be handled by our police or military officers since it is their duty to safeguard our environment.

I never had a gun for myself. I only have a toy gun and a real gun with no bullets.
In my country, guns are prohibited, no one is allowed to own guns, because they can harm the people around.
As far as I know, the United States allows the use of guns for self-defense

Not all countries necessarily need a gun for protection. I think the gun problem is just a problem of the States really.

I have no firearms. Very difficult permission in my city. And I'm just an ordinary citizen. I've only used a catapult to play when I was a kid.

Everyone has right of self defense. no i don't have gun but i think i should have a gun to defend myself. its not to threaten anybody.
Every country having high rate of crime should legalize gun possession for their safety.

For me i think and believe that it is ok to have a gun for protection as long as it is legal because you are supported by your government laws and in order to really protect your family in case of incidents.

No I do not have a gun. Many of us are always brings gun even if they will just go to public places. Their reason is self defense purposes, if some one will attack them, that is the only time they will use it.

Have a gun?  Never, what for? What would I do with a gun. Peoples in possession of a gun that is why there is rampant in killing, arm robbery, kidnapping etc. They should be proper gun control by government.

If you have a gun you feel you are fearless and maybe have instances that you can make a trouble because you have a gun.

Owner of multiple guns here in Arizona, USA. Out here we have concealed carry and open carry, no permit needed, just a background check. With the amount of firearms going around in the state, many would assume gun violence would be through the roof here. After speaking to life long residents though, you get the sense that gun violence is kept in check somewhat by the idea that any sweet l'il old lady could put a bullet in you if you cross the line  Wink
