If you are going to ask me, I do have limitations when I try to gamble. I play poker so definitely I can limit the time based on my goal at the time. Imagine if you do not have goals and limits, then it will be a recipe for disaster on the part of the gambler since there will be nothing that will control him in his play. We need goals so that a goal was reached then it would time to back down, leave the table and then go home. No goal, then it will be bad. Don't be an impatient person, that is why patience is a virtue.

My gambling comes down to betting on football games... It's mostly the games I'm interested in... I bet for fun (to confirm my predictions), I have no goal to earn money... That's why I don't spend much time doing it and I am not addicted to gambling...

Honestly I think most people are just ilke that. Playing only small amounts to make the games a bit more fun and  feel somehow recognised for knowing how to predict better. I am asking more about those who are queite the opposite, and might have some difficulties controlling.

Personally, if I bet is mostly socially, so there is little risk of overreaching. Also, I play only with friends so we do not let it go too far on regards of keeping our social peace if you know what I mean.

curious here
do you keep track of your wins and loses over time and check track record?
do you usually invest the same amounts or scale it and change it over time?

always nice to learn more about people's habits.

You may not have the goal to earn money with your bets but that's a given reason why most of us are having fun and enjoying gambling. You may say that you have no goal to earn but you don't also want to keep on losing because it's very frustrating. Next to that reason is the potential to double or at least get some profit with our bets. But since the main topic is all about time in gambling, you are doing it correctly that you don't spend your time that much and just leaving your bets and checks it once the match is done and you have no problem whether your bet won or not.

At least that's true because when you just want to see how accurate the predictions you have in betting, at least you don't have to spend a lot of money on betting. But, if the results are always good then I think there is nothing wrong for you to bet with higher money, because even though it's just for fun but if your predictions are always good and correct, then I think increasing the bet amount will be a good idea. Because then you will make your fun more profitable, right.
I think all gamblers do gambling just because they try and slowly end up becoming addiction about doing it, I think there is nothing wrong for us to avoid this addiction by not making gambling too much an arena for fun and if you want to guess  score a better with nominal the small one even if you lose will certainly not affect your family's finances but if you continue to raise the bet when you win, of course it will be very risky, to be honest when our confidence increases because we are always lucky to win, of course at any time we will be tempted to betting everything on gambling and I'm sure when that happens, our luck will disappear and in the end we will lose everything we have.

Too much ‘genius’ opinions on this topic. Maybe it’s time for some real proofs. Does anyone want to make a journey of 1 month with limiting their time allocating for gambling and the next month without? That would be fun.
If you have control, you can try it and make your own journey of 1 month, but if you do not have good control, I suggest you do not try that because you can lose your money anytime.

I prefer to hold my bitcoin and altcoins this time because I see a chance for me to sell at the next high price of bitcoin and altcoins, so that means I can profit from trading. I can play gambling on other days and not today as I want to make money before I am late.

If you have that good balance and you really know how to limit yourself, that journey might be fun, whatever the result may be you acan easily take it and move forward.

But if you don't have that personalities, it's really tough and dangerous as you can get addicted and completely lose all your money.

The fun won't be there if you lose all your savings, best to anticipate things befor you push forward.

Correct and now with all the choices you have and digital cash it is even easier to lose control. Deposits are just simple and gambling with crypto is even more addictive as you don't physically hold anything in your hands that you would have to give away. It means it is less painful for that moment to lose that money and much easier to deposit again.
The ease of using cryptocurrency shouldn't be an excuse to use as something that leads to a gambling addiction but I don't if you understand that gambling is not for everybody and this is the fact a lot of people in the gambling community don't want to face because every gambler that can control his buzz is already addicted before the game start.

True but you might be more cautious when you have to spend cash instead of cryptocurrencies. I can imagine that some people have a different relation to their crypto than they would have to their cash or even credit card. Addictions always suck no matter what type of addiction it is. Availability and accessibility is an issue often times.
Just as you said, gambling addiction will always suck but being cautious in gambling in other to prevent addiction doesn't have to do with the use of fiat currency in gambling, and the gambling addiction prevention answer is still the same, having control over one's buzz through the habit of putting one's buzz in check during each and every gambling game.

I am afraid that will not stay for a long time because if we play gambling too often, we can see that we can change ourselves controlling as the emotion will be up and down every day to make us feel difficult to control. That is why I do not want to start my journey in gambling because I can not face the risk and I am too afraid that someday I can lose control and lose the money. It is better for me to occasionally play gambling and only want it and not make money passion.

Well, making money online has its variants compare to gambling because there will be a lot of people on this section would say that gambling isn't a source of making money but just for entertainment. You'll see lots of them telling that but in reality there really are those folks that are able to make money for themselves and survives with their daily living with the help of gambling.
I prefer to search for a way to make money online rather than try to make money from gambling because I know that will not be possible for me. I do not have a good record in gambling in winning gambling games, which makes me afraid to play gambling every day. But I admitted that some people could make money from gambling.

Better never gambling anymore not chance to win and waste your time than loss much money if keep staying with gambling, check how many people loss their much money after know with gambling and not good way for earn money. I left gambling more than two months and never see anymore with gambling site, now I get more profit my earning from trading.
That's false, why he wouldn't have any chance to win? If he's lucky he can quite easily make money. Moreover I don't understand why you are still posting in the gambling section if you think gambling is just a waste of time and money? I hope you are not spamming for bounties...  Undecided

I think what he was trying to say is that the chances of winning in gambling is low compare to chances of losing, which is true, and staying out of it is his choice, his opinion, so there's nothing wrong with that I guess. Our luck will not always be on our favor in everything that we do in our lives, barely relying on that in gambling is a complete wasting of money in my opinion since not all of the gambling games are based on luck.

Strategies are still important to increase your chances of winning and never always let your greed take over you. Be a responsible gambler and know your limits.

Cheers!

Wont matter on what you would make use neither cash or crypto as long it does have value then its just the same. You would really getting the same chance or odds on getting addicted.
The longer you do make yourself expose to gambling then the higher the risk for you to become attached to it this is why self limitation is always recommended.
Even in other things in life where everything seems to be unbalanced then there would be always a significant consequences or problem attached to that.
Everything should be in control or in moderation.

Good for you, you can only leave gambling if you have something to replace it that has is more exciting than gambling and trading is very much similar to gambling, there's also risk and you have to invest what you can afford to lose, but the difference is you have to allocate time and be very focused on trading, there are gamblers that shifted or included trading to their activity.

I don't gamble a lot of times but whenever I do, I feel like I can't stop so basing on that experience, I would say that probably I am not good with managing my time when I gamble. Good thing that I don't have a lot of money and my Internet isn't that good so I can prevent myself from doing online gambling because I know what happens next.
Those situations that you're experiencing right now is a good act of fate because it stops you to gamble. As based from what you've said, you cannot control yourself and it's hard for you to manage your time.
Having that said, you're really being helped by fate because of the situation that you're with.
I hope that he does not have an experience when he wants to make money online because if he has that, that will make him feel sad because he can not use the internet to help him make money. But whether if we have a good internet connection or not, we must control ourselves when we gamble so we know how much money we use to gamble. Besides that, having control for ourselves will always help us know that our lives are not just for a gamble or doing one thing. We need to do many things in our lives, including making money to fill our daily needs.
Well, making money online has its variants compare to gambling because there will be a lot of people on this section would say that gambling isn't a source of making money but just for entertainment. Honestly I had a plan to just limit my gambling time per day, but I never have done it. Sometimes I'm playing more than half day. As what I can remember, there was a time that I played ~20 hours because I'm eager to get some of my money back. There are time that it is positive, but sadly there are also times that it isn't.
I can't imagine you gambling online for up to 20 hours, if gambling at casinos or traditional gambling I think that's very possible but if it is online gambling I can't imagine it. Imagine when we play our favorite game on the Playstation or any other online game which is basically a favorite game but still, when it reaches 20 hours it is something that really wastes your time. So in this it is about gambling that I am still wondering what kind of bankroll you have to stay there for such a long time, because when you catch up to what you have lost, it is very possible that you are playing or betting big and even all in. I can't imagine how that would work with a bankroll of a percentage.
If you are a person who doesnt really mind on working for you to sustain your living or simply a rich guy then you can play all you want and its no ones business to distract nor tell you on what to do.

We do have our own will on how we gonna handle out our own time and this will vary on each status of each person because not all would really be wasting up their precious time into something
which cant really make some income but for rich people then this wont be an issue.

We do have the money then its up to ours on how we do deal up with things. If you do see that gambling is interesting then its up to you but be sure on controlling up yourself.

Some people may use gambling as a tool to earn money. But some people think gambling is just for fun like me. Several cases of gambling addiction made me sad, even to the point of spending all of his possessions. I have heard that those who get big prizes do not last long with their wealth because they are extravagant and return to poverty. Maybe if someone has become a gambling maniac he will be a difficult person to quit and this is dangerous.
