I see a lot of people that do not bother to read the paper,
I try to do max due deligence before buying any coin.

What about you?
Yes of course,I do read up their white paper together with their developers transparency on a certain ICO project because this is my basis before I do put my money.I do value my money and even though there are lots of scam ico as of now but its better to risk something if you do really like to earn something. This is why reading their white paper is always advisable if you can see that there is a potential then its the time we do make an investment.

Is this still a question, competent investors will always trying to know what they were going to put their investment on. the existence of whitepaper is merely for this, to know about the project furthermore.
only stupid people who gamble with their money by not reading the whitepaper. It's critical thing to do, specially for me.

I do. If you don't read white paper , it's a bit like playing to the russian roulette.
You will avoid loosing time on scam and you will understand better how every thing works, so I strongly recommand to read it!

For investment >0.5BTC, yes, I do check the website, white paper, team, a bit of history, etc.
For investment <0.5BTC, usually it's only short term speculative investment, I only rely on technical analysis.

Because there is several ICOs which already explaining their plan in the first/top page with detail enough. So no need to read whitepaper more, mostly investor are following the other investors.

Of course you need to read the whitepaper, it's easy to judge an ICO's potential bases on that. It's also easy to spot whitepapers that are just a rephrased copy of others, it's a good way to know it the project is a scam.

Reading the whitepaper is the first thing you have to do before investing. It is really important to understand the project and the idea of it. There are a lot of scams too. Everybody has to be accurate, not to lose assets.

I would say that reading the white paper is a "must do" thing before investing. By the way, many professional investors claim that white paper are not exactly what they expect. That is, someone prefers a deck, other a business model canvas and so on. I think it mostly depends on your habits.
Actually, white papers are simply another way to explain how your business work

Gotta read it. I'm trying to read most of the projects.
Make research about the team, advisors. Check out the competitors performance. Lots of things needed to be for a good investment. WP is not enough.
But I'm not sure lots of people doing these.

I really think we are in a bubble, because all cryptocurrencies are rising in price, and people have a feeling that they will always grow. Many projects raise more money than it is possible even with venture funding, and sometimes the usefulness of the project and its ability to raise money too far away from each other. In addition, this market is still young, and people still don't know how to distinguish the viable projects from those that are hopeless. I'm agree with others that investing in an ICO just to invest is just a gambling mixed with freezing and big expectations. I always read all possible information before to invest, to read comments of other people is also every helpful to make a decision.

Regardless of all the lights on EOS, I've read every word in its whitepaper before I participated in its early stage ICO
