“One thing very good traders have is insight into themselves.” - Chris Tate

FUN AND GAMES
Recently Louise Bedford and I have been doing the Short Term Trading Magic seminars in a few places and it has been sometime since I did any form of presentation on a semi regular basis. As such it has been interesting to observe people as they work through various trading issues.

One of the things I have noted is that people take trading far too seriously and this is reflected in a form of desperation. Desperation is the antithesis of the state of mind you need to be in to trade effectively.

There is no deny that this is a phase everyone enters at some stage in their career but to be successful you need to move beyond this and begin to treat trading as the game that it is. Once I started treating trading as a game then it became so much easier on the soul and my results reflected this. I even have a t-shirt that says that the fewer fucks I give the more I make.

This is not to say that I am reckless but rather that I am in no way wedded to the outcome of any trade. At its core my life will not change if a trade or even a cluster of trades are winners or losers – they are simply not that important. When compared to real life, trading is nowhere near as important as people think it is.

It is often commented that children are better are learning new things than adults who seem set in their ways. I am not so certain that this is a reflection of any great cognitive superiority or plasticity that the young may have but rather a reflection of their willingness to be both wrong and to play. Young children have no ego therefore the mistakes that their play generate have no impact upon their sense of self-worth. As adults we lose this resilience because we believe that it is somehow catastrophic to our self-image if we do make mistakes.

But in trading your mistakes are your own – no one else can see them so you are insulated from the judgment of others. This isolation gives you the freedom to be wrong but the only thing you have to cope with is your own judgment.

Markets are a wonderful universes for exploration and for play. The presence of micro contracts in various instruments and online trading mean that you experiment very cheaply.

The price of admission to the fun park is much lower than it used to be and the number of rides has gone through the roof. It is a shame that more traders don’t view trading as little more than a theme park where you can play to your heart’s content and during the process of playing you learn much more than you would if you were consumed by seriousness and desperation.

More trading quotes are below:

“To my way of thinking trading is an internal endeavour – there is no external enemy who you can deceive or overpower since markets only exist in the most ephemeral way inside your head. Markets may appear to be physical constructs but they are largely an illusion, trading occurs inside your head where your own perceptions and distortions of reality influence your decision making.” – Chris Tate

“The one thing you shouldn't feel pressured about is trading. If you do feel that way, you probably need to take a step back and reassess. Pressured trade(r)s don't make good trade(r)s.” – Joe Ross

It is difficult to perceive trade as a game, when you trade your own savings.
I do not think this is right. I take it seriously, I analyze a lot and think about various options. I try to treat easier to minus transactions, and to profitable. I try to restrain emotions. But I can not call trading a game.

Trading is a serious business, I'm seriously trying to make a profit from it. Trading is not just a game it's involve your money here, if you lacking of knowledge you will lose everything. I put a lot of effort into trading to help minimize mistakes and potential losses. I research cryptocurrencies and follow the charts to find the best buy and sell points.
Everyone has his own way of looking up at the things but I really don’t think so that you can treat trading just like fun and games. Trading is quite a serious as well as risky thing to do. You really to be very much serious while making any kind of decision as all your earnings will depend greatly on what you have decided to do. If you really want to make something good, then you have to take this thing seriously.

On some point, it's fun but it's not just a game for me. I take it seriously on every choice that I make like when I sell, what do I buy and why do I need this coin. If this is just a game then the more you play is the better you get in it but not and  trading is too far to be considered as a game.

Hello,

Yea..I believe trading is fun.. Its really awesome to see your money rise up and be proud of yourself. At the same time, its interesting to evaluate your moves when you lose.

But..Invest which you can afford to loose.. Its challenging to enhance your crypto capital.

Can approach yes. Because trading is one of most effective ways in terms of time to grow our investment in cryptocurrency. Even while sleeping, my money still working actively in trading.
Those who see it as fun and games are with high experience they have earned a lot in this field so that now rules are on their finger tips and more of it when a person is so use to the same activity it seems like game to them but for the new investor trading is everything they are earning through it and they take single decision wisely and more of it those who have a lot of experience they take it as game to earn.
Everyone has his own way of looking up at the things but I don’t think so that there is any way you can actually treat trading as fun and games. It is because of the reason that trading is quite a risky job and you really need to have a sharp mind along with good knowledge level to do well in the world of trading. You are going to suffer a huge amount of loss if you will treat trading in a way like this.
Trading is quite fun especially when you earn lot of profit but I agree with you. It is not only fun and games. You are risking your hard earned money in a chance to earn profit. It's like my future depends on this. But I think maybe some people still find it fun and games especially the wealthier ones.
I remember my first baby steps in trading that was around April to May when all the coins I bought was flying high, I had so much fun watching my portfolio going green. Not until it started to fall then I realize that trading is a serious matter and should be taken seriously.

I agree with some people who says we have different perspectives to each things we saw and learned by experience, and as for me i've been happy and should i say its fun to trade, but it is really stressful and that makes it more complicated, and when you look on it seriously you will notice that it isn't fun anymore you will almost explode depending on your emotions and trades to what is it.

I don't think we should treat trading like a game. If we trade seriously and respectfully, profit will come to us.
It depends for many earning money is one of the greatest feelings in life so for them earning money through trading can be be something very stimulating and as such it could be considered as a game but for the rest us we take trading very seriously.

I take trading as a job. The best part about it is actually that you can do it on your own - regular job routine, no traffic jams, nothing like that.

Read, analyze, educate yourself, improve your trading skills and you will a-ok.

I see trading as a fun game for me but at the same time i take it seriously because i know that it is a source of income and i can earn a lot of money from it if i will take it seriously. I said that i see it is fun because that is my passion and if you are doing your passion then you will enjoy it and you will almost not going to notice that you are making money.
Trading is not just for fun and game it's like a profession for many traders as they invest lot of money on trading so they definitely see trading as a job  or something like part of their job.

I don't think Trading as fun and games. People are trading to make some profit from their capital. Trading is just same when we have a job where we must be serious to complete the task given in order to get the results and to be enjoyed.

Trading is fun yes but you have to take it seriously and do you homework in researching the progress, future plans and development of a token or a coin and looking at the RSI before you hit the Buy button or you might end up trapped holding a bag of coin with jacked up price. Study those charts so you will now if its already the bottom or time good time to Buy.

in my own opinion. i treat trading as the games i played. i dont seriously treat at gamblers because when i lost money i became mad and moody. thats why i treat it like a game to be more very confident to trade and be motivated to do.
