I am one of the person who was hacked this time, but luckily for very small amount and the reason is that I have few MEW wallets. I keep one, which was actually hacked, for some temporarily actions, like participation in ICO and trading in decentralized exchanges. So just follow my experience, keep one MEW for the things which expose it to public and for more frequent access, and you will be more safe

With the recent hack, I assume a lot of people will switch to something else, what do you think?

I still recommend using a hardware wallet over the safety benefits though.

I am still using MEW... when you are using any wallet after complete research then chances of getting hacked becomes very less. You need to research and have to take some preventive measure to secure your wallet. So select carefully and use wisely

Once something has been compromised like this it would take a while for me to trust them again. I believe everyone deserves a second chance, especially in this emerging space. But I’d want to see a long track record with no issues before jumping back in.

Yes, I still use it, because it easyst way to keep your coins, it not so big problem that MYW was hacked. I think if you have 2x verification you will be in safety.

Most of the people use the myrtherwallet. It accept the coin and token. So it good opportunity for future saving and get more information and ideas. But before use the myrtherwallet. First learn the rules and Information. It good for the coin saving and future invest. It change the most of the. People life. But don't share the wallet information.

My ether wallet have not good security system for keep safe the ERC20 tokens. Only private key is the single factor for security and that is not enough for security. But It is using in the whole world and all bounty hunter are using to get the bounty rewards.

I have not used myetherwallet (MEW) before, until recently nwhen I was trying to transfer some of my bounty dragon coins to the ERC wallet of one of my friends so that he can help to sell them. I found it very easy to use after he had put me through for some minutes.
But recently I had about security loophole in using mew. I can't really say I'm scared, because I don't really know much about mew for now.

Quite important and very correct question and based on what people write here, I can say that many are still endangered, but the right decision will be to use MetaMask, which will give you more security than you think

I only use MEW for a few purposes, just like for using Idex, Forkdelta, and a few other exchanges.
Otherwise, i just use my ledger in order to use my normal wallet. I still prefer hardware wallets over online wallets.

I am still using MEW. The reason is 1) I am using a hardware wallet (no chance for my private key to be hacked). 2) I am using the legit chrome extension of MEW, which is a offline version of MEW (not affected by the recent hack).

Been looking for this cause I have read about that offline version. So it is an extension of google chrome I guess I lack that kind of digging. This will be the safest mode possible if you still want faster transactions.
Any recent news about MEW DNS protection?

Been really busy with things so I kind of late with the news and still trying to catch up. Grin

I am still using MEW because i think that it ll be useless try switch to another wallet. I feel like no matter the advanced of technology, people are always gonna figure out ways to hack it.  Undecided

However i am using extension of MEW which i think is gonna secure the wallet..

Yes, hardware wallet is the best, but there are some that may not be able to afford it. I think another option left for such, is to either use MetaMast or google chrome extension of MEW, which is an offline wallet. I also make use of imToken. Using imtoken is also safe. You just need to keep your private key and your mnemonic phrase safe from hackers. Well, some people are still using MEW successfully, but to be on a safer side,do not use it.

That's a good point. I think those are the extra steps everyone needs to take to stay safe. The hardware wallet being the most important.

Yes buddy. thats really good idea. I am also using the same hardware wallet. Still now i haven't face any issue from Myetherwallet. Still i have hope on Myehterwallet.

I still have most of my tokens in MEW. And its the wallet I use in my bounty campaign. Bit lately after the reported treat I try to avoid using it directly. Still waiting advisory that it is now ok to use

yes of course I still use myetherwallet to receive token based on ethereum and some other tokens, because in my opinion the easiest to use is only in myetherwallet. i tried another wallet but i have trouble to understand it.
