Jim Sinclair has predicted that gold will reach $50,000 (USD) per ounce in 2020. If you compare the movement in the gold market against the bitcoin market they almost match each other. Perhaps this is because bitcoin was designed with artificial scarcity based on the extraction of gold from the earth. The global gold supply increases at approximately 1% a year. Start stockpiling those bitcoins!!!

I would love to think it could reach $10,000 because then i would have the chance to retire if i really wanted to but i am not to hopeful for that kind of rise maybe we will see $1000 again but who knows but no we will never see 10k this year Smiley

Pretty well agree. I think $600-$700 would be the high end for 2015. Continued advancement and adoption could send the price skyrocketing.
I disagree with the 3rd sentence. Continuous adoption will only slowly increase it.
There needs to be a global monetary collapse that would be critical that would send the bitcoin price skyrocketing, otherwise it will just grow like any normal market.
However dont worry, that stuff is not even that far around. ECB now introduces capital controls because banks start to go bankrupt in europe, so when the bank run happense like with Cyprus, bitcoin will skyrocket.
Give it 1-2 more years, definitely not more

10k is a little far to reach any time soon. I can see back to 1k happening though with the right set of conditions being met.

Well, a quarter of the year is nearly in the books. Let's all take a deep breath and not think about 4 or 5 figure amounts for Bitcoin right now.
Unless some of you are in a retirement home or terminally ill, we all have plenty of time to wait this thing out. Collectively, we all have to see Bitcoin not as a lottery ticket or IPO that'll go through the roof, but as the future of money. Sure it'd be fun to see the price pump to the moon, but we should think of more modest or realistic goals for 2015, like crossing 300 and staying there.

I'm with you on this. I'd like to see more like 600, though (half the ATH). With all the negativity coming towards it, it's making things much more difficult, and I'm beginning to wonder if we'll even cross and stay past 300 this year.

With my special powers to read the future, it`ll be at $1.00 per bitcoin.
And used as a secondary currency for rewards and gift translated similar as a cash option instead of getting a check in the mail, by the rewards program. It will increase Chase user base to love them even more, since customers now can get cash quicker then 7 days in the business mail.
Then have people had a dedicated signed btc address only for this option, as privacy is bad for them.

Not in 2015 but quite possible in the future. Right now bitcoin is practically worthless, its market cap is about three billion dollars which is mere pocket lint in financial market terms. So, there´s huge room for growth.
It would have a lot more value if people would quit stealing and hacking exchanges and other sites. The more that crap continues, the more people that are already part of the community are going to leave, and the more outsiders are going to avoid it. These people are literally screwing us all over for personal gain, and they're losing as well.
