Week it depends on how we see it I mean when it comes to a general crowd who are not much into internet and advanced technology Bitcoin will be like a ghost to them which they cannot see or feel that's what will make them hesitant with bitcoin and creates controversies but once people learn about the Vincent of blockchain and crypto currency and understand the benefits of crypto over Fiat then people will start adapting bitcoin and other altcoins

Well bitcoin has been really controversial since then. A lot of economists don't even want to try knowing what it can brings to people. For some reasons, there a lot of chances that bitcoin can be better than the fiat money since this can be transacted without being noticed publicly or let's say in the bank per se. People can do a lot of mischievous thing through it just as how these people are doing the same things with their dollars. So, I think it still depends on the user on how and where they will use it.

Maybe the controversial word is still short to describe its status in the eyes of society in general it's something completely disruptive for the time in which we are living, maybe as time goes by, it will stop being that way and people will see it as something more normal of what is now,and instead of being controversial it can be something much more common.

My experience every controversial topic give big publicity to that issue without any expenses so bitcoin controversies are welcome very much to spread the awareness of cryptocurrency and its importance for the today generation and next generation. indeed for time being the government in every country almost completely does not give positive support for bitcoin development especially for its legalization, even the government in my country has drafted a law for prohibition of bitcoin use, it is a very unwise decision if the government really will ban bitcoin in my country 2018.

I think its the same for both sides even if it's fiat or digital currency cause fiat currency have also done illegal things and exploitation just to increase it's price. Remember gadhafi a said dictator in middle that doesn't want to accept US bank and became a terrorist because of this. Bitcoin became controversial because it empowers the people to use their money freely that's why centralized bank hate it cause they can't control it.

For me like a beginner, it will be assumed like that. But as you would open your mind and look at the marketplace in trading online specially about crypto currency, you can start to notice the the word "Bitcoin" there. Even in the business page of the newspaper I start to notice it as they are talking about it. Then comes my friends talking about it so for me it becomes controversial why people talking about it then it changed their lives, they can have additional income out of their jobs. So, at first it will be controversial, when hearing advantages and disadvantages, but when you are in it, it does not matter but keep on working for it to be part of our lives.

The allegations that you made here are not why I think that Bitcoin is controversial. I think more that Bitcoin has become controversial (its not from its nature), because it is now being traded just like another commodity that financial speculators use. Bitcoin could not be completely blamed for that.Its up to users who decide to use bitcoin.It was earlier adopted and used by dark markets or what it is criticized for,but it has users universally and is used for multi purposes.Its an innovative technology created for sending P2P transactions without involving banks.Only the entry of wall street companies make a little bit confusion whether it would be as it was these much days or would it be just a speculative product for manipulation.

Its true that bitcoin is used by some people for money laundering.But it is already done even when bitcoin was not in existence.To avoid such money laundering activities,government could imply new rules and regulate bitcoin and enforce new restrictions to bitcoin exchanges.This could be a solution and totally banning or just criticizing bitcoin would not be useful.Bitcoin could not be completely stopped and the governments should realize this truth.

One thing you need to understand is that money laundering at a big scale needs by definition to go through banks and many corrupt politicians, there is no other way to hide so much money, with bitcoin existence this means bank could lose a big way to make money and they are not liking this, so bitcoin affects the interests of both banks and governments.

Talking about controversial of bitcoin. Im only refering my obsevation basically bases in my country people phillipines. I dont ever any significant news from media newscaster about what is the reality of bitcoin is all about. Because talking about controversial it comes from tv news broadcasting or some radio broadcasting also. But my knowledge about bitcoin controversial is based only on my friends who told me to access bitcoin because its a profitable soon. Not only one of my friend but lots of people who being access bitcoin nationwide. Thats only my basis on how bitcoin is controversial.
