Why to think that long, even tomorrow is not sure with the digital currency. Only the trust is the one that keeps it alive for a longer time period. Bitcoin being the leader of the entire digital currency community expect the price to skyrocket same as this and make more people get into it taking it survive for years.

Honestly I never saw any technology going away in the whole history, so I see no reason why Bitcoin would go away. As long as money will exist Bitcoin will. So forever hopefully.

It has potential to continue to be a great asset, but I'm not sure if it will continue at the top. We should not underestimate the human capacity to innovate. Unless Bitcoin continues to progressively improve, something else can take the lead.

Every decade we are always served by the sophistication of Internet innovation, but bitcoin is something important because it is a pioneering virtual crypto currency. So I'm sure 100 years later this coin will apply in general around the world because it can not be intervened by anyone.

Yes in today's world of Technology, Every now and than (to be precise not even a decade time, but less than that) a new innovation of Networking arising and which is certainly replacing old ones. But As you said this bitcoin's block chain Network, some thing better in terms of virtual reality. So according to my analysis Bitcoin will definitely exist after 100 years and not only that people will use it as primary currency too.

In current still very early for predict Bitcoin can alive in next 100 years, because only in next 2-3 years or even next year, we can't sure Bitcoin can continue alive on market or get banned from government in one day.
yes i agree we cant really predict what would happen to bitcoin in 100 years from now.maybe theres another kind  of coin.and bitcoin will be lost.but as what i have said it is too early to predict.

Bitcoin for the next 100 years may be used as a world currency that can be used in every transaction.
And I hope that bitcoin can last up to 100 years later.

A hundred years is a very long time and I do not think bitcoin can survive that long. Some new and better things will be found and will replace the existence of bitcoin.
possibly but why bother ourselves about it though we are really ain't sure if we can still remember everything if ever we survive that time
but maybe bitcoin will survive especially if this system already been adopted by business and more big players and businessman will back it
up everything will be still good for this investment.

Tongue Bitcoin is only a eight-year-old cryptocurrency and in future everything can happen. OP's question is hard to answer, only future know. 100 years later, maybe there are more coins better than Bitcoin... Lips sealed Lips sealed
I think you have no more knowledge about bitcoin and also you didn't believe in bitcoin because you says that after 100 years bitcoin will not better coins than other. But to me I think no other cryptocurrency can replace the bitcoin because bitcoin is very better coin than other, and i believe it that after 100 years bitcoin will be survive and will be more better than other currencies.

I am asking this just to see the different opinions of Bitcoin community about its long term potential

I know Bitcoin is actually strong enough and stable as well

But what do you think about it after 100 years ?

I am 100% sure that we are already dead by that time.  Grin And so it does not matter anymore whether bitcoin is still alive or not. I think that 100 years is so far that we cannot even have a simple glimpse or an idea of it. I think bitcoin, if it is still alive at that time, has undergone so many changes that it will be very far from the bitcoin that we know now.
- Yeah, surely at that time we all went to heaven and the existence of bitcoins with us was no longer important, no one can answer this question. However, according to the current trend, I think bitcoin can still exist but it will improve a lot, better, stronger, and it will also face many competitors in the future
- But all just based on the current situation of Bitcoin to predict the future, can not confirm correctly, it can also disappear after 100 years. Every situation can happen after 100 years

Honestly it is unpredictable. Why? because technology is upgrading year by year and once bitcoins are expensive yet, people might develop another kind of asset which may start the same as how bitcoin did.

But I am crossing my fingers that bitcoin would survive that far... I am keeping some decent amount for my grandchildren.

damn right! most of us are dead by that time and i haven't think of passing bitcoin onto the next generation, i mean its great but we all know that our technology is improving

greatly so theres a huge chance that the bitcoin technology or blockchain is quite outdated by that time although people can base on that to create a more powerful invention just

like how satoshi nakamoto got inspired on the first digital currencies to create bitcoin. i think about bitcoin if it can last for 100 years depends greatly on its community

Streamity Decentralized cryptocurrency exchange
Big country like Korea has focused attention on developing bitcoin to attract the number of investors, moreover, it has also existed for quite a long time. Accepted by many countries, it is not easy to die. It will last for 100 years or even longer

Everyone is of course entitled to their opinions, but, whether we think it's a good thing or not, it's highly likely aging will be cured for wealthy people in the next 15-30 years. If you search for "aging hypothalamus albert einstein college" you'll see that scientists have discovered the aging master switch in the brain's hypothalamus, and that it can go in reverse to reverse aging.

This is not my opinion, this was published in "Nature", the highest impact factor scientific journal in the world. Combined with other breakthroughs in caloric restriction, fasting, metformin, heterochronic parabiosis, and senolytic drugs, and aging will probably die before we do.

Like self driving cars, it's coming whether we like it or not.

I agree population will be a problem in the short term and we better take care of this planet, but there are many studies and a great video on youtube called "Overpopulation – The Human Explosion Explained" which does indicate that the total human population will probably level off at under 10 billion. Many billion too many, but better than 20 billion.

Many developed nations have negative birth rates already (fewer people being born vs people dying); Japan's birth rate is cratering through the floor and they are screwed if they don't reverse aging.

Of course, this is all OT... it would certainly be interesting to see how bitcoin and everyone in this thread has evolved by 2117!
