The growing importance of virtual currencies, online transactions, credit and debit cards can lead to this. It seems to me that this will not happen in the next few years. But I don't know if you can completely replace the paper money.

I do not think digital currency will replace paper currency. I think paper currency will always exist, what I think might happen to the paper currency (which is already happening) is that in the future it will only be used in bank cards. As for digital coins, they will continue to exist, and may also will be used in cards for making purchases and payments. Ie, for me, the two coins will always exist, without one replacing the other.

You think small mom and pop shops or gas stations will accept bitcoin and wait for confirmation from each customer?
Paper money will remain here.
Yes this is new age and here everything is getting towards digital era now. In past days money and fiat was only currency that was been held by people but now almost all people suppose to use bitcoin currency and it is just because of high value and fair demand of bitcoin so sure enough that in future bitcoin will be only currency and it will be use for benefit of people who are using bitcoin as an investment and as saving.

I think here in our place digital currency will not replace paper money. Because of high number of poor people. Its hard to implement here a cashless society. And paper money is more comfortable for us to use in our daily lives.
I agree because before digital currency replace paper money the whole society must have the technology to access it. For third world countries it will be hard because not every person in their population have knowledge about cryptocurrencies and the technology for it.

Personally I say yes as our society becomes increasingly dependent upon technology, digital currency will become a more popular means of paying for different things and it is more effective and instant. I haven't used much physical money in the past 8 years and I rarely had any problems with that.

What do you guys think? Wink
I think digital currencies can not possibly replace paper money, because not everyone can operate a technology device so if I do not think everyone can use the digital currency
Yes, when it comes to digital money everything is associated with technology and related equipments. So, such things won't be suiting with each and every user. Paper money is something easy used, and digital currencies too can be used by each and every user. All that required is the education for everyone, which is not at all possible.
we have been traditional used paper money too pay what we need and wanted to have for better to think that this cant be replaced for cause we all know that paper money is a very important thing to have for and this is very special.

Ok progress doesn't come in the same pace for all countries. We say that advancement in technology would see fiat being replaced but we have to understand that not all countries can yet afford that technology. The gap between the progress of coutries is too wide to consider going full digital

It can not be said that in the future you will create both physical and digital currency. I do not think that physical will be used.

Bitcoin is the original digital currency and the mother of all crytpo currency too. Therefore, I had no doubt that this thing will happen sooner or later for sure. We just don't known when will be happen. But I look forward in it actually.

In my opinion in the future cash money will be lost, money is limited and they have to find a solution to replace them slowly slowly...
The government around the globe is trying to make this a digital economy so that they could control the flow of money and monitor everything digitally, bitcoin wont be the final solution and it might not replace fiat paper currency but we are moving to a world where paper currencies will be replaced by digital ones.

No one can replace paper money in any country because the paper money is regulated by their respective countries while bitcoins have decentralized system meaning that no party set the bitcoin. So bitcoin can't easily is received by a country and replaces the state paper money. Technology is crossing the limits of what human can do but machines can do it. People wants transactions to be safe and easy and convenient the same as we talk so there is a chance that digital currency will replace paper money.
