A very strange question.
Some tokens are tokens of excellent ICO projects that have great prospects for growth and their capitalization at the moment is greater than that of many altcoins.
How can they not be trusted?

I don't know but for me, not all erc20 can be trusted. I mean it's now easy to create in this blockchain and some are just using their token to launch an ico and scam people. Just trust those who are established and think many times in those new tokens that popping up in the market. I can see NEO and EOS will be a good competitor of erc20 so no doubt it will be a huge success, eventually.

ERC20 token itself can be trusted but those who use it for scam are not trusted, but not all are scammers there are also more tokens that succeed now and still running until now.
There is no correlation between the technical thing from the ERC20 token and scammer. in fact, ERC20 never gets any problem and all of the problems related to the hacked cases caused by the fault of the developer itself.

Yeah, I think we should not generalize the erc20 tokens. There are others which are legit and successful ones. It is our duty to do our own research aside from watching and reading reviews from legit sites and personalities and select the right one to invest.

It's not about what kind of token it is, whether ERC20, waves token, NEP5 token, I trust the technology they promote and not the token itself. It's not practical to base your trust on what kind of token rather than what problem could be solve by the existence.

We also cannot blame ERC20 because they are only mediators for developing teams who want to create new tokens.
We can blame the development team that created the ICO token idea.

So be careful of ICOs because almost 70% now the ICO is fraud.

I differ that every one of the tokens issued on ERC20 are trick. I discovered one great task  Crypto, which uses ERC20. It doesn't look like trick. They have the MVP which utilized many individuals for exchanging and alternate verifications of their reasonableness

Last year in early december I bought eBitcoin token which turned out to be a scam. Luckily for me I sold them before the ePRX snapshot but alot others have made losses. I really believed this token would be a succes but I've realized that alot of these ERC20 tokens have the same things in common. The devs (or better said scammers) create alot of hype and pretend their token to be the real deal while they never intended to create a working product. I've thought about investing in tokens like Credits and Elixir but I'm afraid they are all the same kind of scam.

Do you trust them?

Tokens which are created on ERC20 are very effective and for me it seems that I like Ethereum first of all because of ERC20. It makes crypto stable and safe and this is as we know is very important for making profitable investments.

My answer is yes., of course, i trust ERC20 tokens, but it depends on the developers on how they could run it. Tokens are tokens, but it will not work until there is no developers and team members, what matters most is the persons and individuals running it., thats the most important thing to consider not just what tokens or platforms they are using. Tokens are tokens of course but we have to consider that it is just a platform run by ethereum, which and needs users who support in it.

And whatever tokens it is, it could be useless if it could be abandoned by developers.

to be honest I do not really believe in token erc20 but there is nothing I can do except just wait and see how the development of cryptocurrency or tokens created from erc20 so it's better just follow the existing developments.

Dear all,
Yes, I trust ERC-20 tokens, but do not trust the supported software for ERC-20 transaction. If they are alone, they are safe. If not, not safe for us. The main issue is the speed of processing is depend on the cap. of transaction. That is all.

All token are erc20 compatible with ethereum blockchain , except those coins that run their own blockchain and some of these erc20 are the reason we are in crypto to boost our income trough them , ethereum blockchain is very reliable except for those that are just coming up now like NEO, EOS, TRX etc which are just at starting point but ethereum has been here for long and is the leading side smart contract blockchain but trying to upgrade its erc20 to erc229 too which will fix some bugs that erc20 is having and advance ethereum blockchain and smart contract too.

I think experience of people is different, maybe OP has experienced a loss due to a project that isn't working properly. it's true altcoin has good prospects and capitalization but if we choose an arbitrary project then we will be trapped inside of it in a short time. because some projects now exist that are aimed only to gain their own benefit

If the project is god, then it doesn't really matter which platform it is using. I would trust a particular ERC 20 token, if the basics are good and the team is having the necessary expertise.

There are many good erc20 compliant tokens out there, and being erc20 doesn't necessarily say a token should not be real, just study them more,  you will find good ones
