I do trust Poloniex when it comes in trading because of the high volumes where it occurs, I'm using their service for a year but there's no problem I encountered at this moment. I make that I don't hoard or keep alt coins in their site for a long term. I don't like also to deposit a large amount in an exchange site because I'm afraid it will be like what happened to Mt. Gox.

I don't see the incentive to scam and embezzle and skim funds... Why not just operate a legit business and raise fees until you can turn a profit? Its why everyone trusts coinbase more.  Then yow can hire some people that can do some things like verify my ID for level 3 access without it taking 3 weeks.   It took coinbase all of 2 minutes.

No user should ever be left with a locked account for more than 24 hours and unable to get a resolution. Let me be CEO of polonoix and I'll get the bleeper running correctly and as trusted as coinbase but you'll have to pay some for that level of service.

They do good work until there's a problem that requires customer service... They don't have the ability to handle that due to the load.

I lend bitcoin on Poloniex... obviously there's a centralized risk attached to it.
We risking in generally when investing in digital money (BTC,ALTS), there is no assurance. Problem is also when major exchange falling or is comprised, we only can witness chaos and mass hysteria, which influence on our investments very damaging.

This is true which means we cant do anything but accept on the risk involved on using their service or platform. There would really be no assurance from the very first place but we dont have no choice since its on the top spot and we know that most people do trade on polo which we can able to say that they are trustable by the community even there are some flaws that we observed.

No. Especially when they pump xrp a few weeks ago. And dumped it when server was down. So many people lost money because of it. But still there is no better alternative...

Poloniex manages a ton of alts and it really might not be their fault that OP's withdrawals are not going through. On the other hand, if polo was to go down scamming IMO it wouldn't just be a single altcoin.

i do trust any exchange , put your coin in your own wallet is the best safe way for protect money ,
i only use them when i need some trades and once finish i will withdraw my coin at once
Majority of us do not trust exchanges but we still use them occasionally, if not everyday. We have decentralized p2p exchanges that working and they are good and secure but very small percentage actually use them. Wich is strange?!
Few yers before all talks were about decentralzation and comprimised excanges.

Yeah. So far Poloniex looks trusted for almost crypto trader out there. Although they just delist some alt-coins on their trading platform, it didn't have any bad effect on their reputation so far. Never had such bad experience on them, so far, so good. But the moment I hear someone cries scam on them. I will be the first one to move out.

Yes I do trust Poloniex! 100% of crypto currency traders has a Poloniex account, and majority of them are trading also there. Why do you ask, do you have any issues with Poloniex?

I don't trust any of the markets. Markets have gone down before and some will go down in the future. You should always store as much as possible off the exchange.

No, I don't trust them. Every company is susceptible to be hacked, and Poloniex exchange is no exception. I trust my cold storage better than their servers constantly attacked/ddsoed by hackers.

One thing is certain, if they get compromised, they won't refund your coins. It has happened to other bigger exchanges and it can happen again. I would not use any exchange as a secure wallet.
Poloniex was got hacked and busoni/tristan has repaid full from his own money (he has deducted from all people's balance first, but he recorded and repaid in full from the fees which poloniex got). Why we can't trust them then?
Quote
I take full responsibility for this and am committed to repaying the debt of BTC. The exchange funds are 12.3% short. Because there is not enough BTC to cover everyone's balances, all balances will temporarily be deducted by 12.3%. Please understand that this is an absolute necessity--if I did not make this adjustment, people would most likely withdraw all their BTC as soon as possible in order to make sure they weren't left in that remaining 12.3%. Aside from the obvious drawback of most of the BTC being taken out of the exchange, this would not be fair--some people would get all of their money right away, and a few would get none right away.

The amount deducted from everyone's balances will be recorded, and funds raised from exchange fees, as well as donations from my own pocket (which is not very deep, I'm afraid), will be distributed regularly to all users who have had BTC deducted. Exchange fees will be raised to expedite the recovery of the debt. 1.5% has been suggested by many people, but I will take input on this. Exchange fees will not be raised.

If I had the money to cover the entire debt right now, I would cover it in a heartbeat. I simply don't, and I can't just pull it out of thin air.

I would like to point out that when I (and probably most people) say that I trust Poloniex I mean I don't think they are a scam, not that they are invulnerable or should be used as a web wallet.

I don’t get why people think that Poloniex who makes tons of money, amount of money to small (and even mediocre) traders can have or trade just decides to steal your money or at least make more profit using your money.

Look at their exchange fee’s, than look at all the volume on their coins, combine both and you can calculate almost how much they make, they don’t need to hold your coins and make a petty small return. Its just absurd to even consider that.

OK, I've been trading on Poloniex for quite a long time, and I'm used to making money using Poloniex, but yes, they are ripping me off!

Here's how it works: every time NXT value is rising, NXT deposits take forever. Today was the 3rd time it happened to me.

I noticed a similar thing when a NXT withdrawal could make me money, and with XRP transfers.

Meanwhile I made a BTC deposit, and it went smoothly.

Want proof?
This is my deposit: https://mynxt.info/transaction/2400609104522205574

https://s7.postimg.org/cc1zbh33v/scr1.png

Notice the number of confirmations (time zones might be confusing, but i sent it about 50 minutes ago).
And then Poloniex picked it up and processed internally (again notice the time and the number of confirmations):
https://s22.postimg.org/fj5m5e929/scr2.png

And here's what they're showing to me - false number of confirmations and they're saying it was sent only 15-17 minutes ago:
https://s30.postimg.org/bvw0rjv81/scr3.png

TL;DR:
They're holding my deposit until I can't make money on it.
And maybe, meanwhile, they sold my NXT, then bought it at a lower rate and made profit. Same for others.
When I can finally use my deposits, NXT will be low again.

Collaboration between the exchange and the pumpers, as said elsewhere.

Sorry to ruin your mood, but it's real.

Bonus: I couldn't write in their trollbox after I commented about NXT deposits, then wrote something else and it appeared, then mentioned NXT deposits again and I can't write again. No ban. The text just doesn't show to others.
[Sorry for repeating this post, but I'd say it's relevant to this subject as well]
