ICOs, or Initial Coin Offerings, have become a popular way for cryptocurrencies to raise funds from the public. However, they have also become an easy way to prey on the vulnerable, and the financial regulator recently warned customers about what it calls “these very high risk, speculative investments”. It warns that there’s little consumer protection and high potential for fraud, as well as high volatility. Some ICOs are regulated by the FCA, but this is on a case-by-case basis, depending on how they are structured.

As the FCA says, you should fully research any ICO before handing over your money. “You should only invest in an ICO project if you are an experienced investor, confident in the quality of the ICO project itself,” a spokesman says. Alternatively, consider investing or trading with a regulated provider.

Thats automatic you know when you invest in anything you do research
you are like jumping on a cliff when you took negligence on that.

My previous mistake was not doing research when I invest in ICO or buying coins, I was only interested in telegram discussions or chat rooms so that I lost money and even got a scam, now I will research before investing.

Yes do your research before investing on ICOs because you are investing your money and expecting a profits so it is not a good idea to trust someone's world to plan your investment.

Unless i have insiders i wouldn't get into any ICOs nowadays, investors are so speculative and tend to leave after a portion of profits, i wouldn't it was bad but on short term its mostly bearish on coins that aren't supported by exchange directly, even IEO does limit the amount of token to circulate to avoid early buyers take immediate price margin profits. ICO's has a pretty bad reputation now considering the overcrowded number of ICOs with so little investors.

Insiders are the same speculators as everyone else. How you can believe to their words. they give information only in their own interests

agree, insiders will only say the best for their project while we lay people will be easy to trust to invest in their projects, with such events it is better to do our own research even though it is difficult to get the truth. if you realize it when the current bullish trend is taking place, more and more new coins are popping up with so many threads about it recently

Of course, everyone should do the research if he or she wants to invest in some ICO project. Don't trust the marketing of the team because there are a lot of scam.

Definitely Yes, We must studies earlier than investing in ICO, take a look at the organisation details and who's at the back of the undertaking, seek information about the unique ICO on forum, reading whitepaper to recognize the whole lot about the venture and visit the social profiles of each of the crew contributors, however it is nonetheless do no longer guarantee the ICO turns into fulfillment and won't being a rip-off, so ICO investing is most effective appropriate for knowledgeable investor.

Who doesn't ? In my opinion this is the core problem of the whole industry, because people are investing in projects without even reading their whitepaper. Such people are most likely to quit the market, because they believe that everything is a scam.
I think that the introduction of investment through the IEO can restore confidence in investing in cryptocurrency. Investing through IEO is much safer than investing through ICO. There are many really promising projects. For example, this one: https://p2pb2b.io/token-sale/GEX It seems to me that this is a great chance to earn a good profit.
IEO is a new way to invest in projects. I heard that only reliable and proven projects are admitted to the IEO. Thanks for telling me about IEO Gexan.
I think that investing in an IEO is actually much safer than investing in an IEO. Of course, I could be wrong, but it seems to me that this is a great chance to make money. Here is the link to the site: http://gexan.io/ and here is the link to the IEO: https://p2pb2b.io/token-sale/GEX

For me investing in ico does not need to be experienced, anyone can do this when they have high self-confidence to benefit from ico. but many ico fraud cases affect investors today, some of them prefer to invest with the IEO rather than the ICO.

Investing in projects that are not studied is very risky. Personally, at the moment, I would not invest in any project. Now a huge number of scammers. It is also unknown how Bitcoin will behave in the future. If Bitcoin will fall in price, then the rest of the market, too.

Yes, research is a very good help in getting much information about a business or project when it comes to crypto. These, even after extensive research, many still fall prey to scam projects.

This used to be the norm but it is very unfortunate now that even the smartest of projects tend to be a disappointment to investors. Hardly is there any ico that doesn't get dumped on getting to the exchange that is if they manged to get listed. Instead of investing during ico, investors will decide to wait till it gets to exchange and get dumped before buying.

of course we have to do a lot of research and have to learn about the ico that we will support, if we don't do a lot of research then we are just throwing away the money we have i said that because now there are so many ico scams

Right, this is money, unless we only think gambling or speculation, then buy coins that are according to our feeling, but that cannot make us profit for a long time, with research we can know which projects are feasible or profitable.

These people can't be called an actual investors. They are more like unexperienced newbies looking for easy money. And after a several failures they are going to blame the whole market calling it a scam.

There were times when there were a lot of great ICO projects with great bounty campaigns, now everywhere you look there are scams. But i still hope that once the market will rise again there will be more better projects out there to check out.

I do research not one time. I research multiple times so as to avoid being fallen prey to scammers. And it has become mandatory to research and go through a project thoroughly before making your decision to invest at a time when there are a lot of scammers looking for an opportunity to cheat investors and bounty hunters. That is why crypto education is needed to make people aware.
