Investing into ICOs is a huge risk and therefore every crypto enthusiasts need to do some level of research about the project before investing. This is the only way to avoid being scammed and investing your money into an unrealistic project. Most ICOs that were launched in 2017 are no where to be found and it would not be pleasant to find yourself as an investor of such projects.

ICOs, or Initial Coin Offerings, have become a popular way for cryptocurrencies to raise funds from the public. However, they have also become an easy way to prey on the vulnerable, and the financial regulator recently warned customers about what it calls “these very high risk, speculative investments”. It warns that there’s little consumer protection and high potential for fraud, as well as high volatility. Some ICOs are regulated by the FCA, but this is on a case-by-case basis, depending on how they are structured.

As the FCA says, you should fully research any ICO before handing over your money. “You should only invest in an ICO project if you are an experienced investor, confident in the quality of the ICO project itself,” a spokesman says. Alternatively, consider investing or trading with a regulated provider.

This simple truth has long been understood by every person who has ever tried to invest in the crypto market. I previously studied in detail the projects and their teams, analyzed everything in detail and took part in the investment, at the beginning I was making a profit, but then the crypto market fell and the whole profit ended. Now I do not invest in ICO.

Knowledge and understanding are the essential tools needed before investing into any crypto project. In order to acquire knowledge about the project, extensive research is the key in obtaining this knowledge which further make you the investor to understand the possible risks attached to the project you want to invest in.

Absolutely right you have to make research , check who behind the project and the company details before you make decision to invest your money , but remember never put all your eggs in one basket .
in fact, you very correctly said that we should have at least 10 coins in our portfolio.  Thus, if we disperse our investments into several projects, then this minimizes our risks.  In addition, I am sure that even with a more thorough study of information about projects, there is still no guarantee that your investments will make a profit.

Why not man? we need them always before investing in an ICO to research everything. The main thing that I give the most importance is that (dev team, projects partnership, and development). Basically Scam ICO increasing day by day so Avoiding these are indigestible nutrients.

Yes I agree. Before anything we must sure that research is done. I also saw a lot of people who owns ICO project that are scamming those investors who supports their project. It is sad that they are still existing in crypto world and yes to those people who trying to invest in ICO read this topic.

Always. I am spending a lot of time by reading the whitepaper, investigating the team members, checking the communities in social media. But the most important aspect of any research is an MVP or a working product.

Yeah, even if there is only a small amount of money involved, only a fool would invest in an ICO without the simplest idea about that project. I think doing an initial research about the project is the right thing to do first since it would more likely guide a prospective investor on deciding whether to invest or not. And as a rule of thumb, investors must first have a due diligence first on that project to avoid substantial losses that maybe incurred if they chose not to do it voluntarily.
For sure it is the most important thing one should do before investing, try to become very satisfied before getting in ICO, after research I think the next step should be inquiry, try to ask other people and your friends about it, try to gain each and every important information about market, it is much better to start with small amount of money.

About ICO investment investors  nowadays are getting wiser, theg know that it's high chances to get scammed investing in ICO so they do better researches  on the project and if the project is not capable enough they quickly move on, ICO have little chance of surviving  this days

Basically, once you've already see that a project has shown you a hole and somehow provide you the insight that they are not worthy at all, just skip it already, we should not regret to leave a project as it will be our greatest regret that our time will be wasted if ever that project turns out to be unfavorable or merely scam.

Sometimes you need to rely on other people, there is only so much research you can do yourself.  You need to be trusting if you want to get anywhere in life.

Crypto has thought me that you can't just joined any project blindly without research or investigating  as that will lead to loss of funds for you. You have to study, research and investigate any project thoroughly before you commit your funds

yes it's quite necessary to do your research before going into any financial investment. But we face a big challenge today in the blockchain Industry where we have so many scams that we can hardly differentiate even after the research

Project analysis is necessary as a breath of air before investing. I think that now we all have the opportunity to do this, because there is no need to hurry, this is a real cryptocurrency world and you and I live in this world.

Not just in ico's investing in particular if your just gonna invest without doing any research then you should prepare to take all the loss your gonna face, if you can't stomach too much risk then you should do an extensive research about the project your about to invest in. and remember invest what you can afford to lose.
