Barrowing money for gambling is very bad and since he have many debts for it why you let him lend your money? While you know that he gonna use it to his bad tantrums and it gonna slowly wreck him, and it is like you help him to have money and continue to play with it instead you advice him that he needs to stop since he was will not earning with it. So better for now tell your friend to stop so he can be save from addiction and that is very worse.
Your friend putting himslef in worse situation in future when he will have nothing to do, than he will start thinking gambling is not worth playing, why you are still giving loans to him when you know that he has no luck, in future he will not be able to return to this amount.
Gambling is made for fun and entertainment purpose, when you gamble by using someone else money taht is not right anymore, i think you should advise your friend about his gambling addiction, told her to quit or if you want soft approach ask him to do new activity and when you have the right time told him to stop gambling because its going to ruin his life

As a friend you should scold your friend to stop wasting his money if he keeps losing in gambling and also don't lend him your own money. Do you think there's a guarantee that he will pay you back? Never ever lend to someone if he will gamble it. For me, gambling is a worth playing when you have the guts to risk your money for a big win.

You should let them borrow money from you. Once they loss, thats a problem. Gambler is always a gambler. But as long as they know their responsibilties its okay to lend them money. But most of people who play gambling are not recover their lost and the worst part they have already owed money and loss it.
Gambling is worth playing if you just do it to relieve stress and you can get out of the table without having any debts from someone. If you can control yourself, there's no doubt that you are hurting/affecting others with your gambling. In the case of your friend, you should talk to him. It's not worth it anymore, he's in negative profit and I think it's already bad. He might be thinking that gambling will be his way to get out of debt, but it's not. After all, gambling is the reason why he got in a debt.

but he said to me that if he wins he will give me 50% of his winning money and he will also treat me to a fast food all i can eat.. so i trust him

In your friends case, no gambling is not worth playing, and it sounds like an addiction so he should seek help for his addiction; not paying you back is a problem. However, gambling can be worth playing for fun and recreation, provided you have self control and set your limits.
