To me i think there are some part of the world that still don't know anything about Bitcoin, because there are people in USA, UK, Australia, Canada, China, etc. even in Nigeria there are people that don't know anything about Bitcoin, they always think that Bitcoin is a scam, but people that know about it are making thousand of Dollars,($) I think they don't know that we are in a digital world now.

It's true that there are still many people around the world who are not familiar with Bitcoin and may have misconceptions about it being a scam. Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies have gained popularity in some regions, but there is still a lack of awareness in many parts of the world.

Conclusively, for me think I it's lack of awareness, just like I stated earlier

Bite me!!! Just WHO THE HELL do you think set the stage for all of today's tech?  Ya know, things like semiconductors, IC's, the internet etc??? Folks like me. I'm 67 and have been in electronics etc. since the early 1970's.

Many folks of ALL AGES are ignorant of technology and frankly I've found that today's youth are scarily ignorant of it in that they blindly share far too much info about their digital lives without a care in the world about it.

That was an interesting answer. Can't disagree with that, awareness about BTC doesn't depend on age and even sex, it's all about a person's curiosity, intelligence, and surroundings.

Very-well said NotFuzzy! You can't give a general conclusion here because it depends on the person himself, how he is open to current advancements in technology or digital world. Every person has his own reservations towards new tech. It is up to him how he look at such progressive developments. Thus, we can't conclude about the response on each level of generation.

I believe, the world knows or have heard bitcoin. Now, the level of understanding is how they differ here and how it is being used by people. It depends on how they look at this market, as an asset or just a day-to-day currency or both. And so their disposition relies on how they perceive this market.

Well, any part of the world where there is an access to the Internet it's people should have at least heard of the word cryptocurrency if not Bitcoin. In these countries you have mentioned, they are actually very familiar with Bitcoin and cryptocurrency but most times due to give restrictions and other regulations they have little interest in Bitcoin. The world is growing and developing very fast so new technology are flooding the internet daily.
Digital currency are next generation form of currency, as most countries are now having there own stable coins pegged to their fiat currency. The reason why most countries still restrict or are against crypto is because of the fear they have about it. Yes crypto currency was created to easy life just as every technology was created for. But some others have seen it as a way to commit criminal acts. Giving them bad names.

I think that what can increase the adoption of Bitcoin, and make people in remote areas to know about it and use it is when it's used to pay for transactions on day to day basis, when you can walk into a small shop and make payments with Bitcoin. Just merely telling and educating people about the advantages of Bitcoin as a digital cash is not enough if they can't use it. First a user needs a smart phone and internet connection, then you need to lecture them about the Blockchain technology, that is a handful for many people in the rural areas that are not literate.

The best and most effective way to increase Bitcoin adoption is when governments adopts it, and people begins to see it as an alternative currency in their countries, we know that it's not possible for now. This is the reason why majority of people that hodl Bitcoin, is for investment purposes.

They might not be using it, but yes an overall idea about Bitcoins will be definitely there inside their mind. They don’t invest in the coin due to its complexity. Moreover as these coins are not legal in many nations, hence people are afraid to invest. Other than this, I think almost all the people know about this great innovation and they are regularly investing in it.

many countries right now knows about Bitcoin so any country that does not know about bitcoin know that the country is not civilized because bitcoin has been into existence over 20 years now if I am not mistaken so bitcoin has been all over internet and the many people knows about Bitcoin
More than 20 years Huh
It becomes a big question mark when you say Bitcoin has been around for more than 20 years because if you subtract 2024 from 2009 the result is 15 years (and even then it's still not there because this year there are still some left over for the next few months). So you don't need to trick more people because you are enthusiastic enough to say it's been more than 20 years while almost everyone knows that Bitcoin hasn't been circulating on the internet for more than 20 years. Although I would also assume that if there is a country that doesn't know about Bitcoin, it is probably a country that is very underdeveloped at the moment.

Every country in the world knows more or less about Bitcoin. But show me a country where all the people of that country know about Bitcoin, I don't think there is any such country. The name Bitcoin is probably known by the governments of all countries, more or less by the people of all countries. Currently people between 10 years to 45 years are familiar with modern technology, most of them are using Bitcoin and know about Bitcoin. I live in an underdeveloped South Asian country where most of the people don't know about Bitcoin, even a third of the people in the country have never even heard of Bitcoin. The digital world is advancing, people are now showing interest in digital coins. Soon Bitcoin will become widespread.

That is, there are people in the world who do not even know about the Internet. They have not even heard the name of the internet, let alone how the internet works or why to use it. Actually, they don't need it so they don't know. Do not talk about them here.

I think every country in the world is now aware of Bitcoin. Because you know most of the countries still have restrictions on Bitcoin usage either directly or indirectly. If they didn't know about Bitcoin, they wouldn't have banned it. But I strongly believe that a time will soon come when paper money will disappear and people will start using e-currency. And globally Bitcoin will lead all e-currencies. You may argue that this is never possible, paper money is needed. But time will tell everything. There was also a debate about whether man went to the moon. Smiley
Countries are afraid of the power it offers individuals and are trying to stop it. However, they'll never stop it. As if to stop the sun from rising. Paper money is going disappearing. An old story. Smarter, faster, and safer e-currency is the future. Bitcoin is the finest. Its a game-changer, yet old-fashioned people say otherwise.

One thing most people dont grasp about Bitcoin. Technology and psychology are involved. Money, trust, and control must be rethought. Reclaiming our financial independence. A global consciousness shift is underway. Bitcoin is the trigger, making us reconsider everything. This is the future, happening now. Get on board or fall behind.

There are many reasons why most people in various countries don't know anything about Bitcoin, their limited knowledge of technology is the most influential reason for them. There are also those who have wrong assumptions about Bitcoin which makes them ignore the entire potential that exists in Bitcoin.
When you find someone who considers Bitcoin to be a fraud, easy to hack and Bitcoin as a place for money laundering, then you have to give them a positive opinion about all the advantages of Bitcoin. Bitcoin is a very young technology, it still needs time to develop. I firmly believe that Bitcoin adoption will become more widespread and will happen when more people are able to give a positive view to the advantages that are hidden behind Bitcoin.

I think this topic is same as asking whether everyone in the world uses social media or not. Before having social media account you must have access to internet. That's like in bitcoin, you need internet to access bitcoin mining or trading. Not everyone yet in the world has access (particularly good access) to internet so I believe that's the answer to this topic. Does the world know about Btcoin? The answer is not everyone in the world yet!

Of course there are many people who don’t know about Bitcoin. We have at least 8 billion people on earth and it’s almost impossible for all of them to know. However, I think that Bitcoin has grown really well because the average person even in developing countries may have at least heard the name. The only challenge I see is that they may have a misconception about it.

People have heard of bitcoin, but they don't want to know what it is because they don't know anything about it, and they aren't ready to learn about it because they are already involved in other businesses that bring money to the table. So they will not be interested in learning about bitcoin. If you go to some country and ask someone about bitcoin, he will answer no, since he don't know anything about it, he is only hearing about it and does not want to know what it is. Now that bitcoin's value is increasing every time new users will be interested to buy because friends will tell friends to buy, to generate profit and that is how he will spearing and all over the word because bitcoin will be strong coin that anyone will be interested to buy without complaining about it. People that no about bitcoin and they are deceiving them that is scam i don't think they will succeed through any online investment.

This is one of the problems, if we keep looking at Bitcoin as an investment we would keep chasing potential users and the growth of actual usage of Bitcoin will diminish with time. If we want to sell Bitcoin to anyone, we should sell it with the idea that it is a currency but one that works differently and uniquely. People who see the need for it would make use of it. It can be looked at as a scam if you talk about it as an investment.

Well, lucky are those who have known early about bitcoin because they can seize every opportunity that comes with bitcoin. But for those who are not yet aware about bitcoin, I believe internet access is probably their number 1 problem. Because if they do so, they would always hear about bitcoin every now and then.

Also, there are instances that majority have already heard about bitcoin, but the problem is they have negative interpretations about it most especially that the government has always been cruel to bitcoin. Not because it could be a competition for fiat in the future, but because they can’t control bitcoin due to its decentralized nature unlike what they can do to fiat.

That's basically how the whole system is designed, you don't expect everyone in the whole to know about Bitcoin, I mean not everyone is open minded or even literate enough to understand that there is actually something called Bitcoin and people use it to transact and also as investment that could possibly earn them tangible returns in the future. Okay I could go religious and even state a claim about the christian faith that is actually being preached and spread to every corner of earth but yet some places still don't know about JESUS and even Christianity as a whole.
Most especially that our government itself does not promote bitcoin, then more chances are those people who have no access on the internet are probably unaware that there is bitcoin that exists. Or most likely, they have heard about the term bitcoin but are not interested enough to understand it more since they all think that bitcoin does not bring any essence to the life of an individual, not realizing that bitcoin could be our future when fiat itself will end up depreciating and will lose its value in the long run.

Here in our country, our government itself does not promote bitcoin or cryptocurrency, but we have local exchanges here that promote bitcoin and cryptocurrency, and there are various groups
of organizations that also distribute Bitcoin or crypto through caravan events about this matter.

As long as our government is not promoting it, it shows that they are open to blockchain technology and innovation when it comes to digital currency, as long as our local exchangers are regulated.

Op I can only take Nigeria from the countries you listed there and I can't speak for other countries. And I agreed with you for you have said that many people are still doubting on bitcoin to be a digital currency but they still think from the opposite. Some people that know bitcoin as a digital currency but don't know how it works so they are also classified as those who are still blind in the world of the cryptocurrency.

Even if maybe you take an example of your country that you already know how it reacts to bitcoin but actually this has become a parameter I think because when we live in an area in a country and where there are still many who do not know about bitcoin then surely in other countries it will not be much different.
Although in this case there is no related data that can make it scientific but with the vastness of a country and the large population on this earth, it is very natural that the presence of bitcoin is now still in doubt because of some news that indicates that bitcoin is a negative thing or those who still do not know what bitcoin is even hearing it is still a taboo.

That is very reasonable because even though we already know what bitcoin is but in the end there are still many who don't know about it even the comparison that knows may not be 1/4 of the population who don't know at this time and don't understand how bitcoin works.

There was a time last year, I wrote an advertisement for something and I wrote  bitcoin to and someone asked me what was that thing that I wrote. And I told the people it is a digital currency which I am also accepting for the service I render. The only places that people understand bitcoin very well so the cities and not the interior villages.

A month ago, a news channel made news about Bitcoin in my country. I still see a lot of people who think Bitcoin is a scam. I feel bad for them; they still don't understand Bitcoin's growth from zero to here. Those who are calling Bitcoin scam; they know Bitcoin, but they don't know how it actually works. And I saw a lot comment there they don't know what is Bitcoin, they heard first time about Bitcoin. I don't know any exact data, but in my opinion, less than 5% of people know about Bitcoin. That means a major part of the population is unaware of Bitcoin.
Those who have no idea about Bitcoin and who have been misinformed from the beginning will basically do the same thing about Bitcoin. If I always discuss with you the negative aspects of a subject, only the negative aspects of that subject will come to you, and whenever you hear the name of that subject, you will find its negative aspects. A country's journalists and other media spread negative propaganda about Bitcoin, which creates a negative perception of Bitcoin among people who did not know about Bitcoin in the past when they learn about Bitcoin anew. But beyond all these, if a user tries to learn about Bitcoin on his own, then he will definitely know something good about Bitcoin.

the media i think intentionally made BTC look like a scam to the public. because if there is good news for BTC like the approval of ETFs, the news never made it to the mainstream for all to hear. but if the news is about BTC being used to scam or the kidnapper asked for the ransom in BTC, the news will just spread like it is happening worldwide that even my pop who is just as bedridden as he is will start asking whether i'm involved to this kind of activity.  Grin

not everyone in the world will get a fair knowledge of the wealth distribution that is currently happening. they will miss it out because of the media and the people behind it they are keeping it out for the public to know. i think it should be our duty already to spread the word out.

If people in a country buy bitcoin instead of keeping money in the bank or invest in bitcoin, then the economic situation of the country's government can be seen as a disaster. Not only does Bitcoin spread bad news but various banks always warn customers about Bitcoin so that customers don't invest in Bitcoin at all. But I have seen many investors from those countries too who are investing in Bitcoin without giving importance to such false propaganda of their country. I think every country probably has investors who are investing in Bitcoin against the propaganda of their country's news media or banks.

when the media already portrays a negative image of the product, people have it in mind that what the media is saying is true. har to actually change the mind of someone since for a long time they rely on their information from the media, they are to even think on their own.

so many people around the world will not be able to own even just a fraction of 0.001BTC while the world will be going into a transition from fiat to BTC adoption.
