I would say being lucky is most prominent thing when you are seeking profits in gambling as this whole game is of luck.If you play for fun then it's best as ig you don't win you won't feel too sad about it but when we are playing for other purposes then it can make us sad through loss. The chances will rise for winning when you are lucky according to me not if you are gambling for fun so it all depends on our personal opinions.

Does anyone of you thought that playing for fun helps you think better and win with less effort especially in poker than having the mindset of trying to win?
agree mate, because the more you seek for fun is the more you attract luck because of positivity than negative .
imagine always have happy thoughts in gambling and not taking it that serious to become millionaire in a split of a time? lol.

I think this will work for both land base and online casinos.
exactly , that is what I developed recently as i keep seeking to win and with that? i become greedy and not having correct thinking so it brings me bad outcome.

Play only for fun and limitation , that would gather more chances of winning .

A big yes.
The reason is it will make you feel relaxed and that will help a lot when you are playing poker. Your facial emotions will be valuable here, from having two aces in your hand or just bluffing.
There are players who can easily be read because of those facial emotions, but when you are relaxed, it will be hard for them to know what you are thinking.
This is also one of the reasons why ladies are good at playing the game. They are difficult to read and their face just says the same thing in every hand.

So i wanted to share the things i have noticed before when i was regularly visiting a land base casino during weekend and sometimes after work. I have noticed several times when a person was winning more than the usual in poker, i usually approach that person after he left the table what was his secret for those wins, i was literally surprised because 7 of 10 people whom i have asked answered they play gambling trying not to win but to have fun after a long tiring week of work or business.

Well in gambling, we as a gambler should really consider just enjoying and winning is next to it. Because, if this becomes our main reason, I'm sure it will only bring us regret, stress, and frustration.

Because if all we're looking for is to have fun, even if we lose in gambling, we won't for sure feel regret for our lost gambling capital, because the word "at least we enjoy" makes sense.

I believe it's just their lucky day and their mindset. Imagine going into the casino, and you are going to just play at the poker table and not having the mentality of "winning" the need to win feels, like it will just come naturally to you, and if you are lucky.

Additionally, the guy may be a pro in poker since it's more of a skill-based game instead of slots that are based on luck.

This is really my mindset when I gamble. I usually say to myself that this is for fun so that I could win, and I don't know what the explanations are, but it really attracts winnings to me. It is like buying tickets in the lottery; most of the people I know will really be claiming already that they will win, which is the opposite for me, as it would hurt me a lot if I lost, as I've not expected, and if I win, then that's the bonus of it. Though probably to others it may not work, for me, from what I've observed, it is working.

I think you are more likely to win in luck-based games when you are having fun, and the worst thing that comes out of it is that you had fun. Casino games are for entertainment purposes anyway, so why not treat them that way. Poker on the other hand might be another story. You can use a variety of strategy and focus on calculating in poker, which will increase your EV (expected value), which will ultimately help you win more often than if you were to just know the rules and play without applying any sort of strategy or focus on winning.

That's just a big pile of bullshit. Do you think Negreanu and Phil Ivey play for fun? The person who plays poker to win takes it as a job, mainly mental, based on a mixture of probability calculation and intuition.

Playing for fun is done by recreational players or fish, who lose in the long run, but obviously have winning sessions, otherwise they would not play.

What you express is a simple superstition like any other.

Well, it's a good mindset to play withough having an expectation to win and you're just doing it for fun, because you won't pressure yourself to profit. If you're too hopeful to win, it can lead to problems like unable to control yourself by chasing your losses and spending a money that you can't live without.

I'm also playing my favorite gambling game after a tiring day from work and if I have money meant for leisure, this is to entertain myself. It's more satisfying to win if you're less expecting it compared to gamblers who treat gambling as a way to gain huge in snap. Thus, it's important to set your mind to have a limit and gamble without expecting anything.

People who get addicted to gambling are not playing for fun. How do you know if you are not playing for fun? First, you feel anxious about the outcome long before you even start playing. You may experience sweaty palms or a racing heartbeat. Secondly, wager way more than you can afford and lose track of time. Thirdly, you may go the whole day without food or drink because you are so engrossed in the gambling. This is no fun, and your chances of winning are slim because you are bound to make a lot of mistakes in judgement.

Gambling, aside sports betting, all depends on luck, gambling for fun or what ever does and will not increase not increase ones chances of winning, though it does help the gambler have rest of mind and probably think better.
But now, moving on to poker, I've never played poker before, I do not know how the game works mechanically, but my guess is that its a game that involves both skill and luck as criterial to win, if this be the case, playing poker for fun still wont bring easy winning to the player, winning would be much dependent how how skillful the player is, and also coupled with how lucky.

because when gamblers gamble just for fun, they keep a relaxed mindset and don't get too emotional about anything like a losing streak. On the other hand, gamblers who only bet for fun, they have a broader mind to keep strategizing to win and of course they also use the money they can afford to lose. so gamblers who are just having fun will have more chances of winning.

different from gamblers who think too much about winning. because in the gambler's mind he only wins and when he loses once he will be very emotional and find it difficult to control himself. so he will chase defeat by increasing the number of bets without realizing that his money has run out.

like the example of a gambler who has fun using money he can afford to lose. when you lose, so be it, this is just a game for fun.
but the gambler who thinks of winning uses funds that cannot afford to lose and hopes that his money can be multiplied into more and when he gets a little loss he gets emotional without being able to control himself.

so in conclusion all of this only depends on the psychological state of the gambler. if a gambler has a calm heart and mind, they will have more freedom to strategize.

I think casino games can make gambling fun and exhilarating, and the uncertainty of whether you will win or lose makes gambling so much fun.
and even more fun if the victory is obtained. So taking risks in gambling with your own money is very profitable, especially if you can win and beat the dealer or casino or other players with the skills and strategies that we have. Like the game of poker which in my opinion is a fun game and can compete with strategy, mentality and adrenaline which makes us even more fun, especially playing it for real because we can easily read the bodies of other players.

Playing for fun might help someone to win but the person should consider a big win a lucky day because playing for fun does not guarantee winning, it only guarantee not to get addicted if you have the right mindset.

Play for fun can be different too, some people can say they are playing for fun and also fun to spend high amount of money on gambling, that is a false sense of fun, it is not fun but addiction or irresponsible gambling.

Be it playing for fun or playing for anything, what is most important is to never go beyond your gambling budget, which means you have control over it.
Agree, everyone has an interest in gambling. If someone says that he is into gambling only for enjoyment and spending money then it would be a lie. Because all of us who participate in gambling intent to win. More or less everyone regrets when losing a gamble. This is common situation in gambling. A large number of people have a lot of money it doesn't mean that they gamble just for fun. The reality is that he tries to increase his money but hides it for others. After all every gambler should exercise caution. He should gamble only as much as he is prepared to lose.

It's all really just luck, aka math, probabilities.

So, it's independent really of how you feel... I mean, you can throw a dice and feel relaxed and it will still have 1/6 chances of getting a 6. Same if you're stressed, still 1/6.

Now, there's also the fact that when someone is just having fun, they can more easily just walk away after a winning hand, which might help in actually earning something.

It only helps you to have a better mood and enjoy the games. Especially if you are gambling to unwind, forget the toxic relationship or environment in the office or wherever, this kind of behavior in casinos would make everything light and fun. But I don't agree that it will help you win. Your mood doesn't have anything to do with what cards you will get when the dealer deals you your cards. It doesn't have anything to do with what hand you will have. But win or lose, that kind of behavior will give you a good time.

Originally, gambling should be done for fun and nothing else because that is the right mindset and in the norms gambling in meant for the enjoyment of it and if anything else is added to that that is an extra task that could add more pressure to the individual gambler.

-But then playing for fun does not enhance your winning ability and possibility,  since gambling is a game of luck and at the same time it depends on skill to enhance the winning but not in all cases.,  what am saying in essence is that gambling should be taken for what it is which is seeking fun and not allow it to become a habit which is possible.
Everyone won't be able to consider this way. People just spend for entertainment, and never think about the money spent. It helps to have fun and to spend time. When it comes to gambling people's minds haven't prepared to consider gambling same as what they do with some sort of other entertainment activities. It is true, gambling is to have fun and it is normal to spend. On the go automatically people expect something to happen out of the gambling. This is where everything goes away from the objective of fun towards money making which makes gambling riskier.

Going for that less serious approach helps a bit but it's not the best suggestion when it comes to making profits because winning still doesn't happen that often even if you have a fun mindset and at that point, it becomes a bonus given that your main reason for gambling is to have fun and get entertained. There's nothing wrong with trying hard though and you can still avoid stress and other issues that affect your mental health as long as you make the necessary steps and solutions while playing.

I don't have the nerve to approach people though when they are winning in a land base casinos, sure I saw some big stack up of chips in front of them. But maybe this is just me or where I'm located at.

I must be one of those who says that yeah you can play for fun, but at the end of the day, you still wanted to win some money right? Maybe you have some funds and money to burn, and so there is no pressure on you and so in any case a win is a win. However, I disagree at some point, gambling is more fun if you win in the end, in my opinion.
