~snip~

This is a very good question. Personally, I think that the pursuit of money in gambling very often leads gamblers to mistakes, so I think that if a player is really focused only on the game, the probability that he will win is slightly higher.

The most interesting thing is that I have even met gamblers who pretend to play only for fun. This behavior really is still a mystery to me.

Does anyone of you thought that playing for fun helps you think better and win with less effort especially in poker than having the mindset of trying to win? Because when you are trying your hard to win, it will make you overthink and that your mental state will get stressed out.
I think this will work for both land base and online casinos.

to be honest, this is how I feel. when I'm stressed because of a problem that I'm experiencing (problems in the family or business) then gambling is one way out for me to relax, I usually play slots and the thing that makes me feel relaxed from my problems is when I win in a few rounds, usually I will withdraw half of the winnings and play again until I feel bored or run out of capital.

from the catch the conclusion of what I experienced was, winning while gambling made my stress disappear and my goal was to play gambling to relieve stress at the beginning which helped me to win gambling (a little confusing but hopefully you understand what I mean).

It could be. When you are very worried about making something work perfectly you tend to become more anxious and stressed, what difficults concentrating on the activity to do that right, with maximum efficiency. Inevitably, at some point you will make some mistakes during the game, which will prejudice your performance along the gambling session, while someone relaxed is more likely to have his mind working at his favor: thinking and executing movements smarter.

So i wanted to share the things i have noticed before when i was regularly visiting a land base casino during weekend and sometimes after work. I have noticed several times when a person was winning more than the usual in poker, i usually approach that person after he left the table what was his secret for those wins, i was literally surprised because 7 of 10 people whom i have asked answered they play gambling trying not to win but to have fun after a long tiring week of work or business.

I think this is talking about mentality and mastery of the mind, I'm sure people come to gambling to a certain extent they definitely want to have a win even though at first they intend to have fun, but the story you give seems like the person you are asking already has a lot of experience in gambling and has their own tricks. each in his winnings, setting the ambition to win and the greed with the intention of having fun I guess it's not a one year or two years experience player maybe it could be they played longer I think, because that kind of mentality takes quite a long time to get.

I don't think it's helping/increasing your winning rate as long as you don't have the cards to win and you are lucky and tricky. Well, it may help you to be a little bit more tricky/cautious while chasing the loss would definitely paralyze you from being tricky. I don't gamble for winning, I play because of fun. i can't say I have a lot of winning ratio in Poker but I didn't lose a lot either. I would only advise anyone not to chase the loss. It will help you to lose more.

I'm sure this isn't something scientific, but I sometimes notice that whenever I gamble and I'm too anxious, or I think too much of the money I wagered, or nervous that I would lose it, or that I need to win to make money, and so on, I would lose. I have to admit that I sometimes gamble with a little worry in mind because I could lose my money. Whenever I do this, I'm more likely to lose.

But whenever I don't think twice, betting without a slight doubt, or whenever I'm not bothered by the possibility of losing money, I normally win.

This is of course nothing logical. It may or may not be true at all. It's possible it's just a mere feeling or that I'm just overthinking. Reason would tell me that whatever the betting outcome is, it has nothing to do with how I feel. But it's always better to gamble with fun, though.

Playing for fun wont help you to win, luck is the only one thing that help you to win.
Even if you do gamble for fun, you will not able to deny that you are also looking for a win.
The only positive side of gambling for fun is that you will be able to accept the losses which means that losses will not make you regret it too much.

It helps you accept losses easily but I don't think that there's an actual basis for you to win more if you're just going to think of gambling for fun. You'll get to see that often on this section.

The mindset that it brings is what answers your question. When you're there for fun and you're not expecting a lot and winning, whatever the result of it is you're going to love.

Whenever you have the mental picture of winning big in gambling it turns you to regularly losing your funds because you never placed a fun free lifestyle into it. But anything often go into the casino hall to catch cruise and enjoy yourself as well as easing yourself from stress after working for the whole day you won't know the winning will eventually take place and you will be amazed with the kind of winning prize you would see. I know too well that many people only gambling for a reason of making fortune out of it.

If you play for fun you do not make decisions based on what you think will make you the most money. A lot of gamblers keep going until they hit a big number but they usually lose it before they do. If you are having fun you do it to have fun and do not lose as much money because you will probably not chase big numbers and instead stop when you have had enough. Gambling is not a career and I know some people have made it into a career but they are usually trust funded people like Dan Bliz.

I agree, there's no pressure if you're playing for fun, I have a lot of experience feeling pressured to win and eventually losing and having fun and winning, it applies to every game of chance and sometimes even in our situation in life if you are stressed you cannot think clearly and will commit a lot of errors and mistakes.
Solutions to problems and chances to win will come when you least expect them and they will come to your mind when there is no block to thinking of the solution, like pressure.

While it's always a good idea to get tips from people who are successful at a certain activity and you might pick up an original angle, poker is a skill based game at the end of the day. You can get an edge over your opponent by knowing some basics like hand odds, expected value, positioning, how to read your opponent and much more. It's not some random magic and there is plenty of sources for education on this game, without asking random gamblers who might not have much time for you. It's nothing about "trying hard" to win, a solid poker player will know that streaks of bad luck and variance will effect them, but they stay consistent to win in the longer term.

Hmmm maybe it could really helps, they just have that mindset that they are playing not to win all the rounds but to enjoy the every moment of it. Not all people can have that mindset because most of us and even me it is always in my mind that I need to win of course but they were this people that maybe they are too veteran in casinos they have already the money and all they just want to be entertained and luckily they are winning because if their positive energy towards the game.

This is bullshit and probably they just want you to back off since no one in the right mind that will share their secret on winning on a competitive game like poker. Imagine these will share you their secret and you play against them. They will surely loss because you already knew their secret on winning.

In poker game. Probability and psychology is the best weapon to consistently win since you are playing against players. Playing just for fun doesn’t affect the outcome of any game even slot games.

No, what it helps you to do is to screw up less.

In any case, your observation is not very scientific.

Several times, 7 out of 10 of what happens in the short term, it is likely to be a coincidence.

As far as I know, the game of poker is one of the most ideal gambling bets that many gamblers enjoy doing, whether on the online website or in a land casino, Poker is also a place of entertainment, because poker can train bettors themselves in setting strategies to determine loses and wins.

Winning and losing at the poker table is largely determined by the players themselves, I often see poker bettors who often win, these people look very relaxed, they don't show mentality and stress to opponents, this can make it easy for your opponent to read expressions or in other words you can read facial expressions, if your opponent understands psychology, for this reason we often see people who are relaxed at their table who often win.

different from what we do at the online poker table, you really have to understand the dealer / opponent card, facial expressions are not needed, strategy and expertise are the main thing.

I play for fun and to win, even though I know the odds are stacked against me and that my favorite casino game-slot-is primarily a game of chance. But since it is my hard-earned money I am wagering, I need to have some sense of winning. Gambling is both entertainment and serious business for me.

Usually, I visit a brick-and-mortar casino with friends. We drink, we eat, we catch up, and we play games. This is the fun part of it. We just soak ourselves up in the environment, the ambience, the laughter, etc. A similar thing goes for when I visit online casinos. I may play a slot theme that resembles a movie I've seen in the past or something I feel remotely connected to. I try to enjoy the graphics, the sound, and many more. I have been fortunate to have some winnings and encounter losses as well. All in all, I do my best to gamble responsibly, which is always the best way to have fun.

It depends on what kind of gambler we are talking about, the casual gamblers who visits casinos on weekends for hanging out while spending some money can give relief from their work or business stress but it doesn't have any direct proportion with our chances of winning since it totally random.

Talking about poker, its not about winning its all about making others think that you are going to win. Smiley

Maybe they just want to enjoy relaxing and playing poker together without trying to chase victory. Whatever results they get, that's what they will bring home and maybe after leaving the casino, they will forget what they experienced at the gambling table. That's how we should treat gambling so that if we lose, it doesn't become a burden for us, especially if our goal is just to have fun and spend time hanging out with friends while playing gambling.

It will work for both land and online casinos and depends on how we react to it because if we only want to find victory from gambling, it will be difficult to get. After all, we might experience big losses. We should enjoy our time to gamble and not chase victory. After all, who knows, we might even win a few dollars.

It's all about suggestions, so even if you gamble with the aim of having fun, it doesn't guarantee that you will get a profit. I believe the person you are asking does not represent the context of winning but rather controlling gambling which encourages one not to be addicted. With the aim of having fun, winning or losing will make you freer, there is no pressure and you don't demand anything because from the start you are prepared for the risk of losing.
