The source article is a little click-baity and I don't think anyone in dogecoin wants to see litecoin's value fall or thinks that dogecoin is a better coin.  The community respects, values and needs all the development work that litecoin has achieved to date.  I believe that a rising tide will lift all our little boats and we should all work together to bring as many new people into crypto currencies as possible.  

To that extent we should all be supporting dogecoin.  They are bringing in users faster than any other coin and increasing the number of dogecoin addresses at a faster rate than any other coin including bitcoin.  Please remember that Bitcoin is tiny and only has somewhere between 1 and 2 million active users.  The PR dogecoin is doing is invaluable to the whole community so if you are at all agnostic I would suggest getting behind this tipping thing and bring someone new to the table.

This, when the litecoiners pointed half of their hashing power to doge and tried to dump it. It dropped like 2 satoshis. This points out that dogecoin's rise is inevitable. Resistance to this is futile as people like it more than litecoin, Doge will surely rise above litecoin. I'm willing to bet a $100, that doge will.

Bitcoin was first to come but in no way technologically superior to any altcoin. And "webforums and thats about it"? Really? Facebook, twitter, youtube, reddit are all webforums in one way or other where dogecoin is currently being used or will be used for tipping. I am an addicted alt coin trader because i have been very fortunate buying litecoin, applecoin, kittehcoin, and yes dogecon before they had their runs. Yes I sold them because I perceive most coins as just for fun and my only prayer is not to lose my precious Bitcoin horde.

I think DOGE has crushed the endless attempts to crash the coin. Now everyone will either be on the train or waiving as it rolls on to crush rivals on the way to #2 crypto coin in a few short months.

If you disagree, feel free to refute the facts i posted, rather than cry about a scam or stupid meme. The theme or the tech of a coin mean nothing to most of the world and doge has that figured out.

In doge was no technical thought put into its design as it was conceived as a joke...and although the community is rallying behind it right now, that meme is going to run its course and it'll fade into obscurity and it's trading will be like ftc.
Bitcoin and some others coins with innovation is where it is for one reason - global demand. Dogecoin's demand exists on web forums and that's about it.

To be honest I've been thinking this for awhile now too (and I used to think dogecoin was junk). 

You mean like SilkRoad, childporn, hackers and the recent arrest of the CEO of BitInstant? Those are some of the things I hear when I speak to friends who know little about Bitcoin . Say Bitcoin and the first thing they say is "yeah, isn't that used to trade childporn, or to buy drugs". So when the masses equate Bitcoin to hackers and drugs, I'm not too sure that they'll embrace it.

Like you, I too hope that Dogecoin doesn't undermine Bitcoin's well established reputation of being a tool for criminality. Let me add that you and I both know that such a belief is erroneous, but reputation matters more than facts.

But I think that you might be disappointed to learn that if you do a Google search for "cryptocurrency" - one of the first results is a picture of that silly "joke" coin. Sorry.

Community is very important for success of any open source currency. Dogecoin has huge and welcoming community. Also higher network hashrate than litecoin. Higher profitability than litecoin since day 1.

And please dont tell me that people just mine dogecoin and convert it to litecoin, because that aint true anymore.  500 millions dogecoins are mined everyday and will be mined till reward halves in next 10 days. At current price its close to 1000 BTC. If everyone is mining dogecoin just to sell it price of dogecoin would not be rising steadily.  Just imagine!  dogecoin community is  attracting thousands of new members every day.

Yeah, I was wondering what demographic group that is? 8-14 years olds? Which grown man spends his time/money with/on a coin based on a picture of a dog and absurd language.

I can't not imagine that there is one CEO of a major company out there who doesn't think this is a joke. I hope that Dogecoin doesn't undermine Bitcoins fragile image of a serious technological and finacial innovation. Most people still think it is some nerdy online hacker gambling "money". Dogecoin doesn't help.

People need to acknowledge that Litecoin is just an empty shell. There is nothing attractive to litecoin because there is nothing. It's just a hub. It exists because people buy LTC to buy other altcoins and mine Litecoin to sell it for fiat. Litecoin is fugazi.

And what coin offer any really interesting? I just say, the meme attract to mainstream people, and if the community of doge make easy payment system and any advantage vs credit card like lower taxes or lower fess or i don't know it will be the new bitcoin.
