Guys, Donald Trump's net wealth is larger than the whole BTC's market cap. So I guess he just sees BTC as small beer. Real estate at his level is very big business. When you are where he is, you don't look much at what's below. I don't think bitcoiners shall fear Trump, he just doesn't care about us.
I don't remember that Mr Trump ever said anything about bitcoin or about any other digital currency but keeping inview of his conservative thoughts one can predict that he may not appreciate bitcoins.

Trump follows good investments, if Bitcoin is the frontrunner of the economy Trump will follow. This is just my opinion, i have no data to back this up.

Bitcoin was a good investment at $10-$50 at the current valuation this is not something a mega rich billionaire gives a turd about or would class as a good investment Smiley Maybe investing in his own crypto would be a possibility but doubtful and it is unlikely he will care about Bitcoin, unless a 3 letter agency puts in on his radar to be dealt with of course. Again doubtful.

Most likely you are right. Maybe "he has no heart" like some of his opponents say, but he definitely knows what is worth investing in. So I think he would support Bitcoin in case he's elected, but I don't think he will be elected.

I really can't believe someone is actually seriously thinking about voting for this guy. This guy is a joke and a threat to world peace!
Yeah, because this world lead by Obama is so peaceful.  We wouldn't want to threaten the peace that is stirring about these days.

I honestly doubt any republican would ever support the concept, since banks are among the main donators for their campaigns.

How many republicans have you actually spoken to on the topic? How do they compare with democrats you have spoken to on the topic?

I don't think the government can make bitcoin illegal because they auctioned off the silk road bitcoins to the public.  They don't auction off illegal goods.  They may try to regulate it though.

I acknowledge the fact that Trump is filthy rich but I have never admired any of his ideas at all. The US might end up having the worst president of all if they elect Trump. Being loyal to the dollars, Trump will try everything at his disposal to curtail the Bitcoin dominance.

Donald Trump is a tool, he is just a big narcissist showoff, I can't believe people support him for real. Im not saying the alternatives are much better, but making that guy the president of the US? C'mon, give me a break.

And having too much money gives him too much power right? Do you think he will just spread his wealth among all the US citizens if he gets elected?   Tongue

I have not read much about his opinion but on Facebook they spread a rumor that he accepts bitcoins as USA's currency which I believe is untrue. Also, it doesn't matter what anyone thinks about bitcoins but whether it is adopted by the Government as a whole or not.

So with his New Hampshire win, The Donald has solidified his place as the front runner for the Republican nomination for president. Has he ever stated any of his thoughts/ideas/position on Bitcoin ever? I've not been able to find anything on the google.

He is anti-establishment and has very strong ideas on border control, illegal immigration, repealing obamacare and fighting ISIS/terrorism and creating jobs/growing the economy.

Anyone have any ideas on what his stance on bitcoin might be?

Since he's a conservative and supports conservative ideia (and is probably backed up by financial institutions), I believe his stance on bitcoin will be definitely against it.

Exactly the same, when things get changed due to the growth of bitcoin, a financial backing will be faced by the banking sectors. So this won't be accepted and definitely will oppose it.

I started a year ago laughing when he decided to run and kinda brushed
it off as a joke.

But he has really picked up steam and could actually give this a run

Kinda scary lol....But at least he is more entertaining than usual politicians

Even I agree here. His opinion also would be against it as bitcoins are used for moneylaundering and if he supports it, it would be favoring the risks associated with it.
