Bitcoin is a famous coin in the whole world when bitcoin has less value, it is wise to keep hold. We can hold bitcoin for a long time, when the value of bitcoin increases, more profit can be obtained.
Hold both of them are the best option, I have keep some of my alts that doesn't go along with bitcoin. So I will keep it as my biggest investment than bitcoin.

yes, you are right and I think we can hold bitcoin from now on and don't sell if the price is not getting higher. the fluctuates will come to us in anytime and we should not be a worry about this. I would say that alt coins bring more profit than btc or eth (even when eth makes 100% grow) Some alts can make 1000% in short period of time

Because if you only hold Bitcoin your balance will grow up only on USD rate. For example you hold 1 BTC . Current price 7500$. It's might 10k after some day. But you still have only 1 BTC.
Now think you have 1 btc and you convert it into BCH. Example for 1 BTC you get 10 BCH. Rate per bch is 0.1 BTC .
After some day if Bitcoin grow up, At the same time BCH also will grow up.
If bch rate grow 1.5 btc then you will have 1.5 BTC.
But before buy alt coin please select best coin to avoid dump.

I think bitcoin is well suited for storing funds in the long run. But making money is much faster with the help of altcoins.
Personally,I do not hold any 1% of my funds in bitcoin and I do not intend to, my entire portfolio consists of altcoins in different proportions
