I think some scam ICO are a really noob trap/net because when you start in cryptoworld you are very manipulative and you give easily your money for dust project. It takes really long time to become skeptic and saw the real opportunity behind each ICO. And even with that time you could sill be wrong sometimes :/
Be careful with your investment,never invest money what you cant afford.ICO market very crazy.ICO'collected hundreds mln's of dollars,many of them will deliver nothing.For sure ico is not for short time.But if project have value and real development than there is possible to make very good money
I think you shouldn’t generalize on ICOs, there are good ICOs and bad ICOs. It is true, that most of the ICOs will fail, they won’t deploy a sustainable business model or their final product won’t match the received funds, but investment in one good ICO could easily pay for the other ones and still make a profit. In my opinion the risk/reward ratio seems reasonable, still you shouldn’t do it with the money you need for survival. 
Sure. But I still don't understand how people can invest so much money on wannabe companies that have no products yet, no track records. ICO's are pretty much backed by hot air.

High risks, but high profit. I think the key point for joining a ICO is doing some deep research, instead of following anyone else.
This is not a rule. You can be dumb and take high risk with literally very little profit. Worst ICO model for me :
- 30 days period to invest (or more)
- Huge ad campaign.
- Token released just one week after the ended period.
So everyone who want to buy can for a long time, and there is no time to hype the final product.
I don't think that the ICOs are very high in risk because if they are risky then there is no people investing in ICOs and to be fair, ICO is one of the in demand right now because people now a days are making quick bucks from their ICO investment and i think it is a fast and profitable way to make a lot of money in the future if we will just invest in a good ICO.
I think initial coin offering is a good idea that wasn't implemented into life without disadvantages. The latter are mainly connected to the fact that many people are now able to copy some code, slightly change it and say that this is the future of our money. At the same time it enables poor smart people to get rich and contribute something into the market of currencies. Although there are some good things about ico, I am surprised that most of people hasn't voted for it being a scam. High risks, but high profit. I think the key point for joining a ICO is doing some deep research, instead of following anyone else.
I dint really invest in ICO but I was doing trading coins which comes to market exchanges after I came to bitcointalk finding lots of Ico hopefully I will invest in some .

Not every ICO is a scam. There are ICO with a real project behind it, that want to realize it.
There are also ICO were the team is not selfish and think only about their project and not their wallets.

Do not write off every ICO as a scam. I still believe if you invest in something, there's a chance you might lose or gain. That's risk. You play or you ball
Yes ico are very risky but my experience is before i invest on ico im reading their whitepaper and reading some articles about the project. Im a long term investor just wait for their product and sell my tokens
Some are scam, but wahat about others that doesn't scam.
There will be always scams in real world and also in here. Better do our research and take that risk IMO.

And I guess you have a selfish attitude in life that wants to be spoon feed with others money so there is no way that people will believe in you.
You titled this up that ICO is a scam to say what coin should people must invest with is a full of BS so don't be a wanna be trader.

Well here honestly I am the successful person who made much profit in DCR and zec coin .
Here op is 100% true , and I agree with him with the risk of ICO investment , because I myself lost money about 2 times in the ico because of the down in the price and second time got scammed ( actually not scam that was lack of information provided by the ico by hmq team ) Actually I withdraw HMQ coin at the ETH address of poloniex exchange but I didn't get my deposit through HMQ coin but after one day they said that don't withdraw at direct address , use only myethwallet .But at the part I already lost my money
and only made return of investment about 30% and rest of loss of principal investment . Jump to:
