Or post incorrect results in public stats. Ie: 1000 workers @ 100ghs. Current block 18 hours at 7,054,284 shares. or something unattractive.

And then just the opposite when things are going slowly/poorly on a long block Cheesy
That just confuses regular users. I'd prefer it if the public stats were correct, but that certain key elements were left out.

Nah, that'd be only for guests. Anyone signed in would see real stats. Any users believed to be hopping could be then banned.

  • "not a miner" Smiley (some miners use a specific user-agent id)

I'd guess since Jine was talking about the stats page, invalid user agents are actually miners. (They shouldn't download the stats unless they are hopping.) And maybe the bithopper proxy and multipool. If those send User-Agents at all.

What are invalid user-agents?
Is an information present in an HTTP header and it is usually set by the client software (browsers, miners etc.) that issued the HTTP request. The server can use this information to send an adequate response.

I know what the user-agent header is, but what is an _invalid_ one? Wink

Hehe ... could be anything:
  • too long (eventually to try forcing an overflow)
  • containing invalid character sets
  • "not a miner" Smiley (some miners use a specific user-agent id)
  • etc

Why not just hide certain stats for users that aren't logged in? That way, hoppers will need to send cookies and deal with that hassle in order to get the stats they need.

I played a bit with the stats for users sending invalid user-agents against the /stats (and /stats.json) on a regular basis.
I removed a couple checks that was a bit to wildcard:ish.

is there any reason why it takes us so long now to find a block?

"We have temporarily disabled the payout system due to a wallet changes. We're working on it!"

This is normal? When it's going to be fixed?

This is normal, it was a planned change in wallets.
Moved funds to a safer location and made a separate wallet for payouts. Smiley

I'll second that, the only reason I have to swap to another pool to mine from time to time is because of the idle miner syndrome. I like everything else fine, no need for auto payout, etc. If I can't be bothered to click payout, then perhaps i have issues. (or no fingers).

But, can't let the cards sit idle... so they go over to elgius when the BTC / hour --> 0.

Hopefully though, that stops happening Smiley

Good job so far Jine, its hard to run a large pool. Just no two ways about it.

Yeah, I don't care about auto-payouts or much else. I put my suggestions in that I'd like to see and hope they go through. The other night was tough because I had a massive reject rate 20%+ but I did end up getting a few shares in at least.
