Probability is not defined for negative values.  Probability is defined for all x, where  0 < x < 1.

I'm going to assume you're being sarcastic in that comment though.

I think he meant to convey less than one percent, but accidentally typed less than zero percent.  Such as 0.5% or similar.

I was speaking as a counterpoint to the naysayers, but in their original tone and knowledge of statistics. Please see my earlier posts here and here in this thread to understand that although my humorous comments may have a subtle "whoosh" sound for some, at least on statistics I can make up some pretty believable stuff.

plz anyone can told me how to take my ALL BTC with 8 decimal?

Another pool operator describes why their pool is only set up to transfer accuracy down to bitcents here [forum.bitcoin.org] - it is to prevent you from losing the money through digit truncation in the client [BitCoin Git Repositories]. The code to zero out the first six digits of satoshis in each transfer was finally removed in the mainline client code only this year, and there may be several forks or mods circulating and in use based on this older code that would still outright discard this penny's worth of bit dust.

Not for two weeks, no. but the odd long block.. yes. That being said, There has been a massive jump in difficulty as of late, and considering we still pop off the occasional 20 min block, it's not as bad as it would seem to be. The only issue really, are the very few "too long" blocks. That needs to be solved. Quite frankly though, we could go a week without seeing another one of those and still not know if its solved or not. However, I'd rather not see another for a while and just assume its fixed; then seeing proof that its not. Smiley

No, its been at least two weeks.  I switched my main pool two weeks ago and switched again a few days ago, and have been monitoring them all to see if I made the right decision.  MtRed has consistently made more than bitcoins.lc would have for me up from the time i switched until a few days ago, and now deepbit is doing the same.  Bitcoins.lc before that point was making me a LOT more than I would have made at other pools.  I would be right back to bitcoins.lc as I really liked the pool except for the no full payout thing if it was earning me the most for my mining.  The best day bitcoins.lc had in the last 2 weeks was the 13th, and I would have made ~.45btc.  Instead I was mining at deepbit and mined .47BTC.  Every other day pretty much I would have been off by at LEAST .1 BTC mining at bitcoins.lc, which is 20%, save for the 5th of july.  On the fifth of july I was able to mine half at MtRed and half at bitcoins.lc and really made a fairly good gain, even though I would have been better off probably just staying at bitcoins.lc for that one day.

Jine:  Isn't it funny how everybody starts questioning the functionality of the pool during bad luck, but never bother to ask if the pool is "really solving all these blocks" when having great luck?  Smiley

Hey, I just looked at the stats for yesterday, and although it should be about three hours per block at the pool's hash rate, there were six rounds in a row that were all under 1 hour 25 minutes! There were even three in a row that were 21 minutes, 41 minutes, and 55 minutes. The chance of this happening is less than 0%, so clearly you should investigate if there is something wrong with the pool. Since this looks strange to me, I'm going to tell all my friends to come here and get the easy bitcoins until you fix it!

Sigh... and then i tool over to the stats page and see us on a 22hr block... That's not cool. It's like working on a 3 digit lock, where there are only 999 possibly tries to open it... when you are on try 1217... Something is wrong with how you are guessing.

Whats up with this block?

This is just my luck. Get a few friends together, all using our gaming rigs to mine, right after you guys got the previous block and suddenly no coins for 22 hours. -_-. Let's end this bad luck and get me some money!

They also do have a more consistent hash rate... Look at the amount of workers, and hash rate over time.
We're jumping pretty much up and down in both, they are very constituent due to closed registration and strict rules.

Two ways and two methods, and two results.
We're open for all, and remain so in the future aswell.

Well, now it's time for a break. My girlfriend is going to report me missing soon, if don't give her a bit of attention.
I'm out... call me if anything breaks Smiley +46700982701

Then you're lucky, wait ~15 minutes for the payment Smiley

I'm just home from the datacenter, our upgrade went just fine.
I added another pushpoold-node to the cluster, so we now got 4 load balanced nodes running individually (same architecture as btc guild, identical even)

Give me a few minutes and I'll issue the payout.
These long blocks could be a result of the increased amount of stales we're seeing
(But rest assure, we're working on that to - If i have time, I'll try out our latest patch in our staging environment)

I'll give you guys an update as soon as i got something good Smiley

Ok, sounds fair enough. Also that block finally became paid.

P.S. I think TheMalon understands variance he was just comparing to btcmine.com, the hash rates are very similar but their history of solving blocks is much more consistent

Yeah. People doesn't understand variance... By the way;
I just put up a git repo for our patches and what we're using (just to keep track of things)

https://github.com/jine/bitlc-pushpool

THIS VERSION IS NOT RECOMMENDED TO USE.
But we're using it... but still!! Smiley

See the 0003 patch for possible way of solving the unknown-work issues.
We do not know if it works 100% yet. So i wouldn't suggest using it Smiley

in the past 2 days:
Bitcoinds.lc: one 10H round, one 20H round , this round of 15H and counting and four 5+H rounds ...
Btcmine.com: one 10H round and three 5+H rounds

Same hash power...

Please, it's just statistics. It's nothing strange going on.
We're very unlucky at this moment, but it will pass, i promise you that.
