Well,for what its worth :

20GH @ diff of 197076000 (1500TH) & BTC price of $130

                Coins   Dollars

per Day     ฿0.05   $6.59

per Week   ฿0.36   $46.10

per Month  ฿1.55   $200.19

I did not deduct electricity, you can do that math  Wink

"ROI" per $300 board in 1.5-2 months.............not too shabby  Grin

Yesterday on BTC Guild a 7.8 GH/S Jally was pulling in .05/day. 20 GH/S should be pulling in at least .1/day.

I think that aking an estimate of future difficulty is a good thing. I feel that by the time late october comes around we may be close to 200mil difficulty, possibly even more.

May be underestimateing the hashrate by late October, who knows we may get lucky  Cheesy

BTW,very cool website Barntech!!!!!!!!! Cool  I like it!!!!!!!!!

To clear up any future confusion:

Sorry guys! It was me who pushed the site without full approval from Barntech himself. This was a mistake because I had some wording on there wrong. I appologize for any confusion of inconvenience this may have caused anyone! Late night / Early morning web developing without permission is a bad idea.

The orders are for systems in development. The product is available for order but not yet "in stock" as I accidentally wrote.

I've learned a lesson from this not to push sites without proper approval. Sorry again for any confusion caused.

Hi Barntech

im a little confused. I ordered 10 Thumbs, because in the OP stays XX avaiable.
Even i dont get any comfirmation from you after paying.

Now i read this:

But just to make sure everything is clear. Nothing we have is "in stock". There are a few bits of wording on the new site that may be slightly misleading.

Are this thumbs in Stock? When they will be shipped?

Thx for the info

Sorry Mastah! That was a faux pas on my part accidentally putting the *in stock* text there. I didn't fully clear the text with BarnTech before I put it up and take blame for this. It should have read *available to order* and I apologize for any confusion this may have caused.

Barntech ordered a reel of chips from megabigpower, which will ship in early October. They are preselling the chips and will assemble them into boards as soon as they ship. This will get the boards in our hands by late october / early november hopefully. The good news is that bit fury is shipping on time, so there is a reasonable assumption that bit fury won't be avalon v2. Barntech explained it in their original post, and this is the reason why the boards are just designs. We should see the final boards soon, as they appear to be getting them today!

Barntech, can't wait to see the new boards!

I'm starting to think ye olde Avalon ASIC sitting on this here olde laptop is about to ROI  Grin

Cointerra is offering 20 500 GH/s chips for $57,000. A little steep but a 500 GH/s http://cointerra.com/shop/. This would be a prohibitive price I think.

And sorry for the late edit.. thank you for this reply.

Price is getting high to be a small developer these days.  Cointerra is not the only ASIC developer so I don't really care much.

Still a much better price than their pre-built system. I imagine someone could design a pcb that would not have nearly as much overhead costs. I'd be curious what they price development or sample chips at, as just getting a chip to test with could be too expensive.

are you guys working on 28nm systems?

They seem like a smart group of developers and in past posts have suggested they have a team member named Dan that is privy to VHDL and other hardware description languages that would qualify them for developing on 28nm.  To my knowledge there are no 28nm silcon ASIC developers offering reels of 28nm to open source PCB devs like Barntech.

I would love to hear if I am wrong on that  Grin

It seems like bitfury should sell while they can. Once the 28 NM chips flood the market this stuff will never sell again.

Here is hoping our boards can ROI for us in November!

Hello people.

Fantastic to see this thread thriving again. I jump on here and see a bunch of questions, then scroll down and see lots of them answered. Thank you everyone for answering all that stuff.

So yes, most things have been addressed. But just to make sure everything is clear. Nothing we have is "in stock". There are a few bits of wording on the new site that may be slightly misleading. I'll sort that out later today. Thankyou very much to Mrklye by the way for getting that done. Certainly looking much nicer than it did before.

We are waiting on chips from Bitfury which are set to arrive in October. As people have said, Bitfury are shipping on time, so so far we are looking good on that front. Out estimated turn around is roughly 20 days from when we receive the chips. This means that late october / early november delivery is looking good at this point.

Regarding a second batch, the basic story is that Bitfury raised the prices on chip reels so much as to make it not really viable anymore. A shame because i believe we could easily get a second and even a third reel happening. Now, Dave from Megabigpower has been working hard to negotiate some better prices, but as of yet i have heard nothing back. At current prices its not worth it, but if the prices do come back to something reasonable, then we will open up a second batch. Time is ticking away however, so that would need to happen pretty soon or it will be too late. At this stage we're operating on the assumption that this will be a single reel run.

With regards to ROI, the figures do come out favourable in some of the calculators out there. These boards we're making may actually make their money back. They also may not. If they don't though, they shouldn't be too far off. In the end it will depend on difficulty and BTC value when the miners arrive. I've written various times in this thread about all the other factors here that make us do this beyond the financial. Its about being part of something exciting, joining the network and building what may be a step towards an alternate money system. Etc etc. I think most of us are of the same feeling.

Will update again soon. The boards will be arriving any minute now.

Thank you for the answers!

So, it seems that if you get it by or after October then you will be never make ROI, no? Based on current diff rises.

Good to see people calculating difficulty here again.  I would say that kind of depends on your definition of ROI.  On paper it may seem that you won't ROI.  But people don't always factor the increasing price of bitcoin and its popularity into their ROI.

IMHO.. to see project developers work openly with the community adds an immense amount of ROI value.. even though you can't use the black pen to right it down.
