Money Machines - Electronic Financial Technologies, Distancing and Responsibility in Global Finance (Mark Coeckelbergh)

This is a book that not very many people know I think. But it impressively describes how new technologies in finance contribute to more ruthlessness in society. You could compare it to drone wars and how drone operators due to less contact with their targets also feels less empathy with them. Coeckelbergh does a very good job at describing and explaining how financial technologies through distancing strip away the empathic interpersonal aspect of transactions. He does touch upon electronic currencies, but it is not a Bitcoin book. Since it still encompasses this aspect, I found it very interesting.

You can try out any of these three and thank me later;

* "A Theory of Justice"  by John Rawls
* "The happiness hypothesis: finding modern truth in ancient wisdom"  by Jonathan Haidt
*"UPSTREAM: how to solve problems before they happen" by Dan Heath

I have read a lot of books but these are my favourites

- I like politics, philosophy, society, economics, psychology.
- I have enough Bitcoin books, so I'm looking for something else.

I'll give you two suggestions on each that I love, I don't like reading books on Bitcoin anymore since most of them don't know what they're saying and only repeating what others have said.

Politics:

Philosophy:

Psychology:

I love books on personal development and I will suggest a few for you and others that might find them interesting. Here are two of my best read:

1. The psychology of laziness by Muhammad Shakeel.

This is the favorite quote from the book "sometimes later becomes never, do it now"
https://www.amazon.com/The-Psychology-of-Laziness/dp/9390767628

2. Invincible by Dr Robert Jeffress
The is another powerful book that can energize someone from within.

1.
The wealth of nations by Adam smith.

One of those great books that Lays a good foundation for modern day economics and guides our thought process on present day economics. It's a deep and insightful exploration of the forces that drives economic growth and brings it down to how well we create wealth for all. Additional resources could be, follow the money by Paul Johnson, good economy for hard times and the new silk clothes by Peter frankopan

2. In the dream house by Carmen Maria Machado another good one is   seeing like a state by james C Scot. this particular one is one of those none fiction book that gives you a new lense to see the world and governance on a totally different level.
