May Bitcoin be touched by his Noodly Appendage
February 12, 2017, 11:15:56 AM
Who is currently handling the development?

This is excellent question because I think devs get most of block reward.

If someone wants to help develop the project, how does that work currently? If we make price go up would devs get interested again? I want to help bring this currency back to life.
I'd also be interested in helping

We've seen some activity on CG for DVC recently.  If the price doubles, we can add a BTC market.

In this coin has a bug: if one address contains several million DVC, then when you send any number of coins to another address all balance of funds will be sent to the commission.

It already was, see in this block:
http://block.d.evco.in/block/62e938e77d8d472339c747b8015070c365efa3625927ca5fc7465acb40bbf1a8
http://explorer.devcoin.info/devcoin/block/62e938e77d8d472339c747b8015070c365efa3625927ca5fc7465acb40bbf1a8

When sending from the address 1Jw3SwT14VkHhxg74aVWQxTCZnTAonV2Fu to address 18TPy9LQjnhgMPN9M6XG3pD1mjeuBDeEK7 amount of 9999999 DVC fee was 729099919DVC

Transaction
http://block.d.evco.in/tx/6024431ed948c748e28ae99232c301824e4bb8b1bd1708cede3fa0fd847ec514

Probably need to store smaller amounts at different addresses, approximately 100K at the one address.
1. How do you know this is a bug of the coin?
2. Is it a bug in the client or the coin itself? I guess the client, if so, easy to fix

Uh, I hold a massive quantity of DVC. I've sent multiples of up to 20m at a time. I've never had an issue, so not sure what he's talking about. Might have been an old bug or something but I was sending a lot even in 2015/2016 without issues.

This only applies to a large number (about one billion, in the example 739 099 918 DVC) if all the funds are accumulated at the same address DVC.
When sending via QT wallet, owner will be warned about the amount of commission. If you send out from daemon "devcoind sendtoaddress", in this case, without warning, all the remains will go to the fee.

I showed the results of research blockchain what was on the block 237497.
Time: 1466623710 (06.22.2016 19:28:30) - at the time was the current wallet.
1Jw3SwT14VkHhxg74aVWQxTCZnTAonV2Fu lost all of his coins.
This money mined on address 1HM1haADUGW9zxNQz6n2x7A5W7PB1n2TVn.
But on the block 237717 http://block.d.evco.in/block/77491fbea625f78fdbcc6cf54439e5347df53e675142dc70ec3c7cd9b1bb8bb4 he also lost their.
I think that this should check and test developers in testnet.
But the DVC holders just be careful not to keep everything on the same address and do not trust the automatic sending.

So  a client bug
This must be addressed soon

Thanks to the person who sold me 6,000,000 DVC on Coingather.

I'm going to keep accumulating Devcoin and might be able to help with development soon.

We've still got DVC listed on CoinGather.

Where?

I don't see a DVC market on CoinGather.

Where can I buy Devcoin? I can't find it on CoinGather or any other exchange?
https://www.coingather.com/exchange/DVC/LTC

Thank you. I put in a stack of buy orders and will check back tomorrow. My dream is to own 1 billion Devcoins.

  • They need to send an example address of the altcoin.
This is simple: it's the same format than classical Bitcoin addresses (like 1A1zP1eP5QGefi2DMPTfTL5SLmv7DivfNa)

Yeah, but that and the rest of the technical requirements (https://forum.bitsquare.io/t/how-to-add-your-favorite-altcoin/46) must be send by someone from the DVC team to the Bitsquare one.

I added DevCoin support to my vanitygen fork for making custom prefix addresses.

Anyone care to test it?  Be sure to report back to github repo with issues.  I won't really be checking this thread.

Works with vanitygen and oclvanitygen

https://github.com/exploitagency/vanitygen-plus

./vanitygen -C DVC 1dev

Excellent! Great work & thanks. What else do we need to satisfy the listing demands on bitsquare?

Indeed great work!  Shocked

I think the next steps are these:

Quote
  • They need to add Bitsquare as official exchange to their webpage.
  • They need to send an example address of the altcoin.

I don't know about the other requirements, because those are too technical for me to understand to be honest.  Huh

Shouldn't be too hard - I wonder if they'd accept a bitsquare banner on the block explorer page - or does anyone have access to the actual devcoin.org website to do it?
