@yammp, great news! Can you add your exchange info to: http://www.devtome.com/doku.php?id=where_to_spend_your_devcoins right now only Vircurex is listed there.
I've added it.

@weisoq++

I saw you added Bter as well. Thanks!!

Where is the DVC market on Bter? I'm not finding it.

DEVTOME: The issue should have been resolved now - no new mod_sec rules/errors triggered. I'm now able to edit, delete, add articles without problem, and hosting were able to do so on my account. Final stage is for everyone that's had problems to please check your accounts. If it's all good, great. If not, perhaps send me a pm rather than build a potentially long exchange here on the thread.

@weisoq, this is amazing news! really thank you a lot!

Now that Devtome is back to normal, we can think on what is the next thing to fix, since Devcoin is still at 2 satoshis. There are three things that worry me much:

1. Communication channel: We used to have forum.devcoin.org (alias coinzen.org) which served as an amazing communication channel, any hope to have it back to live? Is devcointalk.org the new communication channel? Should we start over?
2. Operations: say we set-up a communication channel, we still need to make sure that Devcoin is operating well (admins/volunteers are doing what they are supposed to do)
3. Get back to Grow: Even before all this troubles with the forum and devtome, Devcoin was in a down trend (which actually accelerated), what is the plan to recover an up trend?

I really hope Cryptsy can resume trade in all these small altcoins again. It was the nr.1 altcoin exhange.

Their trust has been lost in a lot of people, though, so I doubt volume will be even close to what it was before...

News about Devtome!

70 shares from devtome sent to date in devcoin round 55, according to: http://dvccountdown.blisteringdevelopers.com/

What happened? Is people really writing again? are those shares coming from previous rounds? is there somebody cheating?

Hi,

Cryptsy is toast now, it seems. Their website is offline. What I meant by my comment was that one of the ways they completely shot themselves in the foot was poor communication, particularly lack of meaningful updates. I'm really glad you're working on the Devtome issues, and let me encourage you to please post regular updates, even if not much progress has been made since the last update. Regular communication is a wonderful thing Smiley

Also, with Cryptsy going down, it seems we are in need of a new trading platform. I really hate to pin everything on Vircurex. Poloniex has a new coin request form. Should we get a campaign going to have them list DVC? I'd also love to see it on BitTrex, although 'Trex is notorious for delisting coins quickly if they don't like the volume.

I've been working with the devtome admin (jasinlee) since around xmas on getting devtome going again. The hosting was upgraded a couple of months previously as we were getting much more traffic so looks like some settings - e.g. mod security - messed things up.

Basically involves me trying edits and passing on errors with screenshots and timestamps, them changing some rules every time. Time differences are making it a slow process with one or two changes a day.

Now at the stage of involvement from hosting in trying to replicate issues as nothing technically wrong with site itself (edits by me under 'Recent Changes' includes hosts working on it with my login). There's been some improvement as can now add a limited number of characters rather than none. Hopefully they'll be able to narrow down the exact problem soon.

I've been reluctant to update because until resolved it isn't, but appreciate everyone's frustrated - so for information.

Thank you for the update weisoq!  Smiley

This sounds like great news! Please do post updates, even if it doesn't seem like there is much to say, even if it's only "we continue to work on the issues." Updates of little or no progress are still better than no updates at all (Cryptsy, anyone?).
Ok. To reiterate earlier posts on cryptsy - don't use it for any coins: http://blog.cryptsy.com

Sounds like someone switched to a new (upgraded) hosting account without first ensuring they had copies of all the relevant configurations for all the webserver modules wiki modules and so on?

Seems maybe it could be harder to try to start from scratch than to just fix the thing?

Who the heck lost all the possibly quite intricate and detailed module config options and such from the working site, though?
