Can only be a very recent issue as been using it a lot recently, so perhaps they're tweaking something, but I've asked.

Devtome is broken again Sad

User profiles are blocked, for example:

http://devtome.com/doku.php?id=wiki:user:fheenix

This breaks invoicing! Look at http://dvccountdown.blisteringdevelopers.com/ fetch round 56, only 91 shares sent and round 57 just started! Devtome shares are 0, pretty odd.

Is there anything you need help with to fix this issue, please let us know.

And as I have earlier mentioned, also bter has CNY-DVC trading couple. I will just wait for the big DVC-pump when we reach at least 30SAT Smiley

Devcointalk - yes I think so.
People - believe Nova or HB went through and updated who's still doing what: http://devtome.com/doku.php?id=devcoin_human_resources

Yes the Human Resources page should be up to date. We had trimmed things down somewhat when first taking on the HR Admin position. Things are too slow of late to fairly judge ones input at this point in my opinion, yet should things pick up that shall be re-assessed.

Great kudos weisoq and jaysee on getting DevTome back in the game!

There have been a couple of fundamental issues that are or are being resolved. I can't speak for others' input into what will be next.

As I said earlier in the thread though, the dvcbtc price is a function of several factors. Addressing recent constraints should improve price inputs for the better (involvement, shares) subject to btcusd, which is a necessary first step to turning around longer-run psychology and trend you mention.

I'm still awaiting for an answer... Are we moving this ship or what?
Devcointalk - yes I think so.

Growth - personally focused on getting receiver list back to being dynamically updated because involvement is first order driver of growth. Will take a while as involves getting lists of any writer backlogs for UTB to add, but it's being worked on.

@weisoq, it looks like DVC heads are doing "something", yet their plan is a mystery. Now you are talking about receiver files... what else is not working? Also, people seems to be really busy trying to get things back to work, yet they are not asking for help. At this pace, we'll reach 1 satoshi, what will be next? Desperate action? relay on CNY and wait to reach 1 CNY satoshi?

With all respect to people running Devcoin, even if you got the skills the question is: Do you really have time to move the ship? If don't, then make a call for others to take over.

Now that Devtome is back to normal, we can think on what is the next thing to fix, since Devcoin is still at 2 satoshis. There are three things that worry me much:

1. Communication channel: We used to have forum.devcoin.org (alias coinzen.org) which served as an amazing communication channel, any hope to have it back to live? Is devcointalk.org the new communication channel? Should we start over?
2. Operations: say we set-up a communication channel, we still need to make sure that Devcoin is operating well (admins/volunteers are doing what they are supposed to do)
3. Get back to Grow: Even before all this troubles with the forum and devtome, Devcoin was in a down trend (which actually accelerated), what is the plan to recover an up trend?

I'm still awaiting for an answer... Are we moving this ship or what?

Donno about you, but I have never had troubles with DVC and Vircurex and at one point I indeed stored around 25M DVC at vircurex. The backend service was down for a month a few months ago, but besides that everything has worked well. I know the issues in the past, so I do not store more than max 1BTC.

How about a global notice in the header stating: "We managed to fix the issue with creating/editing wiki pages, if you happen to have any issue please report HERE (link to this or another forum thread)"
I've posted a similar message on the devcoin forum - think between the two should be enough. I'm not an admin, just wanted this resolved for everyone's benefit, but prefer not to become point on all things devtome - best they go through signups etc unless specific to this issue.

It is good if the current devtome situation has been fixed, but the issue of being able to sign up new recipients - can or has this been addressed?
As the primary devtome situation seems resolved it's being looked into.

A reminder - could all existing users that've been unable to edit/add check it's now working (even if that just involves a quick edit - save - undo -save). Then we can file that aspect as universally fixed.

yes
Exchange risk indeed is a bitch. Would be great if this could be prevented by better and decentralized exhanges.

On the other hand, for me the demise of Cryptsy came with reaching the bid for obscure altcoins in boatloads. The challenge now is to get them out of the exhange in a private wallet.

DeVCoin was stable or rising actually, do not be fooled by what you see on Vircurex because Vircurex still has not honoured my bitcoin deposit of two bitcoins from a year or so ago, thus for a year or so I have not been able to build the buy sides of the merged mined coins (since obviously it would be stupid to send any more bitcoins until thoe last two out of many that I sent finally get credited to my account), then after thusly preventing me from suporting the coins they also discontinued IXCoin and I0Coin entirely, so basically they are just a dying remnant of an exchange, it was only when someone bought coins from me that I had any bitcoins there with which to support the coins on the buy sides of their order-books.

Right now I am raking in devcoins at two satoshis and placing them back up for sale but no-one is buying, maybe because I am not the only person who has discovered that when you deposit bitcoins there the bitcoins do not appear in your account for a year or more (and counting...)

It is kind of hard for people to buy anything there using bitcoins while their bitcoins are unable to get there.

Meanwhile on Cryptsy folks bought up all the 4-satoshi offers and started buying the 5-satoshi offers before Cryptsy revealed their 18-month-plus scam.

I managed to withdraw 44 million devcoins from Cryptsy but my attempt to withdraw another 100 million is stuck, maybe just from wallet-fragmentation issues, I sent them a support ticket about it.

Take advantage of cheap devcoin prices while you can, it regularly tended to climb up to 8 or even 9 satoshis, buying at 3 to sell at 4,5,6,7,8 or even 9 has been a great long-term moneymaker.

For me the bigget problem with all coins has been the lack of good reliable free open source software for running things like exchanges, as really it still seems the best way to run a coin is to always have a full and deep buy-side order-book, which means leaving lots of money on exchanges. The exchanges then steal all that wealth that was the coin/nation's treasury with which it had been supporting its currency.

Take at look at the long history at http://galaxies.mygamesonline.org/digitalisassets.html to see how well assets can do when the nations/corps/whatever are able to stand behind their currency with a treasury that is not constantly being gutted by scam exchanges running off with the "national" treasury of assets used to "back" their currency.

Because DeVCoin mints so many new coins all the time it is one of the hardest to "back" of course, which is why I kept working on IXCoin and I0Coin, which would be doing quite well if first Vircurex and now Cryptsy had not run off with all the bitcoins the theoretical IXCorp and I0Corp had amassed with which to "back" those currencies.

I had 30 bitcoins or so on each of 1, 2 and 3 satoshis buy side for buying DeVCoin on Cryptsy, the only reason you are seeing 2 satoshis as current price is Cryptsy has stolen those bitcoins along with all those I had piled on the buy side of IXCoin, until they did that the price held steady at "buy for three, sell for four". Basically the dev nation has had a lot of its treasury stolen this naturally its currency, which was backed by its treasury, is down on the markets.

In effect the markets are thieves, lying about the true value of the coin while they steal the national treasury of the devcoin nation - and by those thefts actually undermining the value until maybe one day it actually will reach the lows they are saying, as the "nation" runs out of wealth which which to "back" its currency...

Consdiering the hundreds upon hundreds of hours I have spent over the years constantly building buy-sides for the merged mined coins even just the lost hours from no longer having thousands of offers in place is a huge loss let alone all the bitcoins gone up in smoke.

Basically I spend a thousand or few thousand hours burning up the coins, at the end of the day.

I really want Open Transactions to reach stable data-format so I can work using secure platform instead of having to depend on all those thieves to maintain our buy-side order-books for us.

Still need to tackle the idea of giving it value. A coin without anything driving value to it will remain worthless. We need something exclusive that makes people want to buy in.

Agreed!

See my last post?
