$25 amazon gift card for 5 cents?

http://devcoinauctions.com/blog/auction/25-amazon-com-gift-card-digital-delivery/

Time is running out.. there is no reserve on the gift cards!

Can someone tell me if the site is running fast for them? It's loading under 0.5 seconds here... I did alot of optimizations nginx web server varnish cache, object cache, database cache, opcode cache, minify js/css/html, gzip content, browser cache, page cache,  Content delivery and security through Cloudflare CDN....using an SSD ubuntu 14.04 server now.... damn Im getting good at this lol

Fast enough, about 1 second. Or more like 1-2 seconds if I click on another menu.

Its weird cause the other menu's are still being served from the CDN unless it had to go to the server to fetch.. then it should have hit varnish cache... but once you been to the menu once it will cache it on your browser so it will be quick to click on the same menu again.

If your logged in there is no caching since cookies are stored for authentication.

Devcoin has had more action in 2014 outside its price than all years before. It's far from death and has captured the brightest among us.

Lol!

The depth of your arguments intrigues me... please tell me more!  Shocked

Good comeback ... made me chuckle. :-)

If u want development dump dev shitcoin and buy stake in Nem.

Bitcoin, Namecoin and Devcoin, they are united and will either succeed together or die together.

united until death.  Cool

Should support up to 10k users at once now... I also stop updating the client if he/she has been inactive for 20 minutes I throw up a "are you still there?" message box. This will reduce load on the server once user's increase.

I find the current exchange rate really sad as DVC has so much potential.

Devcoin has way more projects and initiatives on than 90% of the alts.

I really think in another 6-12 months Devcoin will be in a very different place, hopefully!

I'm pretty hopeful about this myself as well. The problem is that the longer it takes to gain in value, the harder it's going to be (due to inflation). ie.:

at 180 million coins, it would take an investment of $180m to bring each coin to $1
at 1.8 billion coins (9 months later) it would take an investment of $1.8b to bring each coin to $1

There needs to be a fast influx of money and it has to be consistent in order to bring it sustainable value.

The coin is actively used and generates action by numerous people everyday. If Devcoin has nothing going for it, why does it have an Android client, people doing work for shares (=Devcoins) and people trading it (sellling is also trading; every sale has a buyer)? Its by no means dead, and that frightens people.

+1

I stay with devcoin thru good and hard times.

This coin will play out over the next decade, not the next few weeks.

That's what DEV stands for.... longtime continuous development of things.

Hopefully also artistic things like music, sound, graphics, 3d etc in the future...

I tried to download devcoind from the official site, and it points to an expired domain.

http://devcoin.org/devcoin-wallet.html click on linux, try to get devcoind.

I tried compliling the source, got some errors about "wx", never heard of that before, some kind of widget thing. Got past that with an "apt-get install libwxbase2.8-dev", and now it fails due to things about wx. I give up. I'll take a compiled version if there is one.

wx is wxwidgets which was switched to qt in newer bitcoin distros.. If you dont have wxwidgets thats why.

I ported devcoin to 0.8.5 using qt lib so this code should work for you:

https://github.com/sidhujag/devcoin

It will soon be official source as we are testing the client on blisterpool.

Its not dead at all the person who wrote that is misinformed.
