really good site. should be promoted in the crypto community. there are no sellers yet but this looks amazing and promising!

Thank you..

it's just beginning I think... we need promotion. After we create an ANN thread that should help! It will get there though I believe... hopefully spread the word about devcoin and support the devcoin market at the same time.

I am working on a really cool feature which should help people start to get involved (because it drives the cost of your bidding down AND you can make money at the same time) which is a wholesaler feature which allows user to user transfer of bids... allowing you to buy at a wholesale discount and sell at retail price by issuing vouchers with a voucher number... the vouchers will display as ads on the accounts of those who you sign up(or they can enter the voucher number in the payments section to get the voucher)..  if they buy using your voucher you end up making profit if you purchased using the wholesale bid package (cheaper than the rest)... You can make up to 25% on each sale like this while driving your bidding costs down at the same time.

The voucher's look like this:
http://devcoinauctions.com/wp-content/themes/PennyTheme/img/voucher_2.jpg
http://devcoinauctions.com/wp-content/themes/PennyTheme/img/voucher_small_2.jpg

I generated these through my wholesale settings section: http://devcoinauctions.com/my-account/wholesale-settings/

Soon as you generate them, they become active on your affiliate's accounts. Essentially when you get someone to sign up using the link given to you in the wholesale setting's section you become their referrer (stored int he database) and when they login they see your ads and then can buy bids from you. (user to user transfer) although the customer will not see this as a user to user transfer but just purchasing a bid package through a voucher code.

Is devcoin a good mid/long term investition? If so why?

The good things about devcoin:

- It's got real interest because of it's ethical nature. It's not going to die any time soon, and isn't based on a meme people will get bored of.
- It requires human effort to earn (as opposed to pure mining). This adds to the ethical nature of the coin.
- It's at a bargain basement price.
- projects are still going ahead and will continue to do so, because people feel good about what they do here.
- a strong sense of community.
- merged mining - the network is as secure as bitcoin.

The bad things about devcoin:

- building devtome is expensive
- the low price might seem like a lack of market interest (although in truth this might be a lack of speculator interest, subject to change).

I think it's a far better long term investment than a short term one.

I used to write a daily fundamental report on 5 currencies USD,EUR,JPY,GBP and AUD. I plan to restart this and add a bitcoin section plus another section for all crtyptos. So basically it will be a daily report of 7 sections of around 200 words each, it will go over the news of the previous day and offer a preview of the news for the next day. In addition to 5 daily reports I plan to also do a weekly summary and weekly preview that will cover the news for the previous / upcoming week.

I assume this would be ok since devtome already allows poetry and fiction but I thought I would make sure because it's not really ''wiki'' type content.

bump.
Read your report - nice job. Looks like we got answers from the ECB, until next time. And mark f#*king carnage - I'm not sure what's worse, that he's the treasury's gimp or that few seem to care.

Glad Coinzen is back up, but because we all have so much vested interest in the site, and in Devtome, is it really wise to have everything under one persons control? I dont even put my paying customers in that position, having a succession plan in place that gives other people access should it be required. (Should I ever be hit by the proverbial bus, I had to put something in place to ensure my demise doesnt lead to my customers online business demise.)

There are lots of ways to do this, is tenthirtyone precious about not sharing responsibility or is he amicable to a couple of people having access to be able to restore/backup or manage the site and domain?

Devcoin is never going to do away as it's merge mined with bitcoin. It doesn't require miners on its network. This price is an all time low, but also litecoin is down from 250 to about 175, and doge from 102 to about 61, so the ebb is affecting many coins as people strengthen their positions in the mighty rising bitcoin. (percentages from over last few weeks)

Devcoin is similar to wages in that it is a unit of account for someone’s time and labor. People might be holding and feel that the trend is not good, but the merge mining basics will again, ensure devcoin does not disappear.  I have lots of litecoins and I see the price drop but I don't care (much) as long term I see this happen again and again.

Interest buoys devcoin to grand highs every so often, as happened a few months ago. Personally I consider this a fantastic buying opportunity. And I will put my money where my mouth is. As those are my sentiments I am offering 30% discount on items at Amazonia Imports at http://btcpipeshop.com/  Yes I know my store is a bit seedy and you might not find anything you like there, but I see this as an opportunity and I'm more than happy to scoop up your devcoins, ship you a physical item, and provide you a hefty incentive to do so.

Price is calculated in the coinpyemnts.net user interface, so the price you see on the website is the discounted price. Not only that but I only charge $10 flat fee world wide shipping, which also is discounted the same rate. There is an order limit of $60 (shipping not included) for this offer; devcoin orders over that will be refunded minus transaction fees, so please ensure you provide a working email address or I won't know how to contact you. As payments go through a third party I can't look at the block explorer and figure out where it came from.

Feel free to dump them on me as I love nothing more than getting coins that I know will be around forever at bargain basement prices.  Bhaahaaahaaahaaa!!

Very nice and informative answer from your side, thank you for that. I will consider it for sure with my DVC investments Smiley
ps. also very nice discount on your shop.

That's strange. I have access to the full site, just as normal, whether logged in or out.

tenthirtyone was online (on coinzen) several hours ago. I haven't heard from him though. I assumed he brought the site back up.

How bizarre..coinzen.net works fine...coinzen.org goes to:

EDIT: no it does that again when I log in...but then if I log in via http://coinzen.net/index.php?action=login2 it works...

why the price is so low? looks like a bargain to me. are there any developments?

devcoinauctions.com and in the works a general purpose bounty exchange which will standardize the way we allocate and assign bounties etc.

I have just logged into http://coinzen.net/ and all the threads appear to be there.

/panic

what is coinzen.net? Is it a redirect?

I'm not sure but appears to be. I didn't actually have coinzen in my bookmarks so just typed in what I thought it was. However I checked http://coinzen.org/ and it's working for me also, so it seems like a redirect is set up also.

This is not redirect. Both coinzen.org and coinzer.net points to the same IP address.
