I posted a link to my article in the relevant Steemit thread at the time as per the instructions.

Thanks for reporting Wekkel and welcome to the STEEM Marketing team. From now on please post at least once per round about devcoin (mentioning the @devcoin account). The idea idea is to keep good noise around devcoin.

Cheers!

Sounds good.

Are there any activities going on surrounding Devcoin and perhaps places to spend (would make a great article)?

The author of that evidently has me confused with a Mark Miller who had a convo with Hal back in 2001.

That was not me.

The guy's entire premise seems totally insane, seems like he is a real fruitcake.

Also Tonal Bitcoin was a Luke Jr. thing, simple a cosmoetic front end, a version of bitcoin client that displayed values in the tonal number system (base 16) instead of decimal.

It was not a separate coin at all, just another way of display normal btcoins, just like you can display them as microbitcoins or whatever.

None if this changes the fact that DeVCoin is awesome, of course. We don't need fruitcake theories to assert that. Smiley

Someone explain to me the value in this coin, why people are mining and using it. How it relates to bitcoin, and why people should care? This looks like just some pure premine 90% dev fee garbage?

this is what got me into devcoin.

There has been no volume on Frei Exchange since December 17th, and yet I'm seeing DVC price fluctuations on CoinGecko. So DVC must have another market. Where else is DVC trading these days?

DVC can be traded at altilly https://www.altilly.com/?a=f4811

two markets against LTC and ETH, enjoy!

You're "wiser" than that. If you were truthfully in the dark (so to speak) - you would've seen the Altilly options on CoinGecko.

There's a bigger plan in place. Go ahead and delete my post again.

It was easier to ask here Smiley

Can’t anyone help me understand the Devcoin wallet? How does one get it back if their computer fails them? When I created a wallet here http://devcoin.org/devcoin-wallet.html it never gave me the ability to create a passphrase or password or even if this is the public or private wallet. I have been searching for devcoin useability but it seems like it’s pretty technical and not as easy as other coins. Been on devtome.com as well and kind of hard to find anything there as well. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi orimar.

You can find a great HOWTO about the DevCoin wallet from a post of cpol a while ago. Here is the link:

https://steemit.com/busy/@cpol/how-to-compile-your-very-own-devcoin-wallet-in-ubuntu-18-04

Just like a BTC wallet you would want to backup wallet.dat which is normally in a hidden folder in the home directory. On Linux it would be .devcoin

Hope that helps.

I am not sure how to check the wallet.dat file on a mac. also the mac GUI wallet gave me an address.

- Nova

Thanks! this seems to be for Linux OS? I have a mac OS and I can't seem to find anything online as to help me with it. I have the wallet installed and have an address. so i moved my dev coin to this address and my wallet doesnt show the transaction but a search on the blockexplorer shows the coins there. I think something is wrong with the wallet interface as it looks a bit "out dated".

Yes the HOWTO of cpol takes place on the Ubuntu release of Linux. Best to double check that your new installation uses the same receiving keys (wallet.dat) as you used when sending the coins.

- Nova

How does this help me on the mac os side? I cannot find my wallet.dat file. the GUI mac oS gave me a address.

I found the problem, see https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.48992502

Merry Yule!

It is probably worth noting that the HZ unit does have eight decimals, I see them in balances. Also when I go to send HZ it does let me input a decimal point, whereas the input routine for prices in buy/sell assets rejects a decimal point or comma, popping up a "fractions are not allowed" warning as soon as I press either . or ,

So dunno why they are not allowed.

hi dvccommunity, could you tell me where i can join thecommunity in telegram or dicsord ? please share the link. thanks Wink

I have probably not set it up correctly as not made a telegram group before but I set one up for Devcoin here

https://t.me/devcoin

any issues please let me know and I can see if I can fix it.

There is also this discord group for devcoin

https://discordapp.com/channels/342013412290854913/482276756015939604

Fuzzybear

I joined the Telegram channel and it's set up so that I can't post anything. Maybe it was inadvertently set up as an announcements only channel? That setting can probably be changed by the group admin.

I posted a Devcoin article at Steemit a while ago. It seems no share was given for this. Was this public relations event cancelled/scrapped?

It's not cancelled nor scrapped. What happens is that everything should be done manually and when you write something it's much better to tell develcuy about it, so you can get your share for it.

You see, this involves a ton of work and sometimes an article is missed, so please next time, when you write something about devcoin tell immediately to develcuy.

I'm so sorry you didn't get your share  Embarrassed
