I did seem to have issues syncing with the network receiver files and had to manually download them all.... isn't this from the hosts declared in code not being valid anymore? might be the recent https changed? anyone else have similar issues when building and syncing from the repo https://github.com/devcoin/core ?

Please fix SSL certs of Receiver hosts

Hey guys, this is a call for all people hosting the receiver files, there are two hosts that lack of a valid cert as reported here:

https://www.ssllabs.com/ssltest/analyze.html?d=devcoin.darkgamex.ch
https://www.ssllabs.com/ssltest/analyze.html?d=devcoinpool.btc-music.com

This will improve user experience since more options will be available for syncing receiver files.

Keep Devcoin up!

SSL cert installed for

how do I get on the developer list? Id liketo take more of a developer and or administrator role as I believe in the long term potential of dvc. I write software for a living.

Great!

https://github.com/devcoin/core#development-process

Development process

Developers work in their own repositories and branches, then submit pull requests when they think their feature or bug fix is ready.

If it is a simple/trivial/non-controversial change, then one of the Devcoin development team members simply pulls it.

If it is a more complicated or potentially controversial change, then the patch submitter will be asked to start a discussion (if they haven't already) on the Devcoin Core Issues page at https://github.com/devcoin/core/issues

The branch will be accepted if there is broad consensus that it is a good thing. Developers should expect to rework and resubmit patches if the code doesn't match the project's coding conventions (see doc/coding.md) or are controversial.

The master branch is regularly built and tested, but is not guaranteed to be completely stable

Join in and start closing issues , or opening and closing issues.
Develcuy can work with you to get you on the Developer Share list to receive devcoins in exchange for work.

Devcoin.org website has been timing-out since some time yesterday.
Today we saw a drastic slowdown in block production after 350897 and again after 350901.

Does anyone have anything to share about these occurrences?

I've seen also that devtome.com is down  Undecided

Sorry for the down time for devcoin.org and devtome.com.  We had a stuck backup process that kept taking the server down everytime the backup job was restarted.

It seems to be ok now.

DevFund: Devcoin Software Development Fund

Hi everyone!

In agreement with Ctya and thanks to Unthinkingbit, from round 88 we are setting up a wallet for the Development team of Devcoin. The idea is to have a budget at hand for critical tasks required to maintain and develop the source code of Devcoin https://github.com/devcoin. All interested parties are welcome to track the official address of DevFund: 19hM1CJzN2FYiR8CcrEe2X7SbJ69xH8nZ6, which has assigned 12 ongoing shares. Also, I'm programing a web interface to publish the transactions, so that available funds, ins and outs can be tracked freely.

This is all for now, since the wallet is empty at this moment, we'll start working on budget from round 89.

Go go Devcoin!!

I've received notification that the Devcoin wikipedia page I created is being considered for deletion. If a concern someone may wish to argue why not.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Devcoin_(2nd_nomination)

Also noticed an additional line: "An auction site for Devcoin users went online in May 2014. Users can pay with BTC, LTC, DVC and PayPal. All profits from Devcoin Auctions will go toward the Devcoin project itself." That hasn't been correct for a long time. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Devcoin

Wikipedia is old, we now have Everipedia! It is a blockchain baked encyclopedia, created by the founders of Wikipedia. They are wide open to document cryptos (quick search google for: Cryptocurrency site:everipedia.org). The only drawback is that you should buy IQ tokens from the EOS blockchain, in order to create a page. The good news is that I have IQ tokens so all you have to do is to create the page and share the link with me. I'll take care of getting it voted!!

NOTICE! For every edit on that everipedia you need votes, so you have to be very careful before sending any edit, since I don't have much BRAIN POWER (similar to STEEM POWER) so it takes week to recover!

Go go Devcoin!!
I won't be doing that, and think monetisation and pay-to-play of information and the commons are bad things in every way.
If this is the future for blockchain then for society's sake I hope it all dies. Take care

Where do you get the DVC to sell at such a discount to exchanges?
@devcoin is the official account of STEEM-Devcoin project, which then is owned by the Devcoin project. The supply comes from ongoing shares allocated for this project. More info here: https://steemit.com/witness-category/@devcoin/the-present-and-future-of-devcoin-steem-integration

How much supply do you have left?  It would be nice to let exchanges handle trades sowe can get higher volume and a realistic price.
There are some conditions for the buying DVC from @devcoin, more info in here: https://steemit.com/witness-category/@devcoin/devsteem-stage-1-sell-round-2
