Made a 200+ EUR purchase yesterday with the card, everything went smooth as usual Smiley

We hope to release the EUR card very soon, this should remove the currency conversion fees charged by banks

Just received it in the mail, I activated it (none of my phones actually called the number, I had to use google voice to do it), and everything is all set up. I am putting 10$ onto the card and will let you guys know how it works. The card itself looks kind of boring, doesn't have any decals on it and its just plain black.

Many thanks for your professional comments.

The card is quite boring, fully agree. Custom design is one of the things to do at the top of our list, although it requires quite some resources and investment. In fact, the design is there (as it looks on the homepage at www.e-coin.io), it is a matter of actually making it work with Visa, card issuer, etc.
No problem. I always leave feedback for any product I purchase on this forum, it helps other people decide which ones are scams and which are good.
Custom design would be good, everything else is perfect. Using the card is a breeze and I have spent the 10$ I loaded onto it. I haven't had any programming jobs or anything, so I don't really have that much bitcoin to be able to put on the card, but the ATM withdraw to cash in a matter of minutes is very good. Fees are minimal too.

Many thanks for the detailed feedback!

I have been using e-coin for about 2 months now and not one issue with it, highly recommended and I heard soon they are adding a option to also buy bitcoins

Thank you for your positive comments.

Buy bitcoin functionality is on the list of things to do, yet, not immediate, as we are now fully concentrated on the debit card.
The next developments in the queue are EUR and GBP cards. Will keep the community posted on the news in the official thread  https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/bitcoin-debit-card-917350
as well as via e-mail newsletter in case you have registered an account at www.e-coin.io

I singed up to buy the debit card. I used PayPal as the payment option. The debit card costs $10 to buy. The card is issues from a bank in Gibraltar.

If they are a scam it's no big loss. Not sure a scam would use PayPal. I can just charge back the transaction through PayPal and get my $10 back.

How was your experience with the card, would you share?

Also, here is the official thread for E-Coin debit card:

Thank you for your comment, patience, indeed, is a virtue!

The deposits are processed quicker now after we migrated to BitGo, also, it was a major step to improve the security.

My deposit finally confirmed, it took 5 confirmations. So if you are hoping to quickly exchange btc to your debit card in a couple minutes look elsewhere, you already have to wait for 5 confirmations before they begin to even transfer to the card ~50 minutes. As of now the deposit to the card of about 8$ is still pending, so its not on the card of spendable yet.

Tested it yesterday.
Works fine - though I don't yet get pin code for it (need to call phone to get it) so I was requested entering pin (becouse of chip default settings), but I succefuly skiped it 2 times of 3. I made 2 purchases in retail stores - about $10 each.
It's take fee of $0.26 for each purchase, but may be it becouse I'm in Russia and it some local extra fee.
And it converted RUB to USD with about 2% commison to official echange rate. And don't show exact charged $ ammount on site only RUB - so I calculated it himself.
Also I tried to pay online on one site but got "wrong credit card number" error for some reason.

I purchased card for bitcoins, it was deliverd two days ago and yesterday I added bitcoins to it - today will try to use it =)
So far all works as promised.
Purchased mine as well and it was shipped a couple days ago. The site definitely looks legit, and even if they do scam its only a 10$. However we should be careful because they can scam the funds that we deposit, and that could probably be a lot worse. As soon as I purchased the card a verification thing is available on my dashboard so when I get the card in the mail I can verify it. Let me know what kind of fees and rates you are getting @gamerate

I think anybody would label a company a scam after waiting for 43 confirmations.
No I work with blockchain and chain.com apis and sometimes they get very behind, its not their fault. As long as it was credited in the end there should be no complaining, general rule of thumb is that if it reaches more than about 6 confirmations then contact support.

Depositing right now, just checking over fees. Will let you know how my debit card goes, I have high hopes for this service!
I am using paypal, don't want to wait for TXs to confirm, need to go to bed soon  Grin
Its a visa card and purchases are fee, and only 1$ monthly fee, and ATM fees are about 2 dollars I think, which isn't bad at all. Trading fee is 1% which is also great considering its pretty much instant, about 1 minute for me to walk to the ATM, 1% plus 2.5% for hard cash is not bad at all for me. Pretty sure this beats localbitcoins
