Yeah they charge a flat 10% final value fee on the item cost & shipping costs now, unless you have an ebay store, then final value fees go down to around 5-6% for most stuff

Can also calculate rates if you have a store, which takes the final value fees down, its great if you sell a lot, or high value items.

Ebay is pretty fucking ridiculous. The only use it really has is to build up a decent reputation if you want to start an online store, otherwise fee's fuck you up real bad. If you are only selling random shit sporadically, you might as well go WTS in the forum related to the object you want to sell.

That is changing though with Bitcoin and more merchants adopting it but it will still take some time

I think it is really more the lack of alternatives. Prior to bitcoin there really were not any alternatives and bitcoin is still relatively new to the P2P transaction marketplace

I made my first purchase on cryptothrift today. Everything went smooth but the site itself does look like crap. I think with a bit of promotion maybe a sig campiagn and a site makeover, they could be doing much better.

problem with cryptothrift they dont do much in marketing and getting themselves out there, they need someone and something that can make them different.

The only alternative I've seen so far to PayPal is Stripe https://stripe.com/.
Other then that there is BitCoin of course, but most important would be a good auction site, because they have their own fees.
Would like to see a good alternative to it.

Yeah fuck ebay, I closed my account with them recently. Problem is there's no real competitors so they've got a monopoly over other auction sites. Used to like Bitmit back in the day, still hoping for a decent crypto auction site.
