TC, what do you think of developing a simple browser plug in that would alert users if the site they are visiting could be a scam?  We could allow legendary members to contribute to the database.

Of course this would only work if we could promote it in the B&H section...

I wouldn't even know where to begin Cry
Reading this thread, I actually quite like this idea. I'm not 100% sure on how it would work completely, but a GreaseMonkey extension could probably be made with this idea and could add a header to the top of the page for example. Just throwing ideas around.

The scam site strevos.com should be added to the list. Someone was spamming the forum with a bunch of advertisements to that site earlier today with too-good-to-be-true offers ($200 for 1 BTC, and lower prices for greater amount of bitcoin - current Coinbase is ~$246).

here is a thread discussing the site

This page has a pretty big list of confirmed Bitcoin scam sites:

http://www.badbitcoin.org/thebadlist/

I don't know who compiled it or what the requirements are for a site to be included though. For instance, I would have been hesitant to classify PBMining as a definite scam back when it was popular but it appears they listed it months before it went bust.

why there are so many scammer in Bitcoin bussiness?

The responses in this thread answer the question of why scammers scam in the first place.

Bitcoin seems to attract online scammers because it's pseudonymous, instantaneous, much harder to trace when mixed, and doesn't support chargebacks. With Bitcoin, the responsibility of the trade is solely on the buyer and unlike fiat banking, there are no centralized entities that can team up with authorities to regulate Bitcoin transactions.

Honest? Gotta say, that's a pretty ironic name for a scam. Cheesy
