insane but true both bfgminer and cgminer crash when i try mine scrypt
when running as btc miner they did well a week ago.
I have one cgminer running with asic running but that should not matter in my opinion it is on the usb
Even trying to mine at the pool in the previous posts it crashes
Anyway i let it run on reaper and check tommorow if i can run the asic on another machine to get that as a potential problem out of the way

nah i changed that a few times to see if that was causing the problems in the coin conf i set the rpcport to the same port
do not forget reaper does run fine and made 4 blocks in the time it ran
however cgminer or bfgminer are much easier to control especially when i am at work on another spot
and secondly i think they can get more hashpower out of the card

I simply do not understand why cgminer and bfgminer stop working while reaper work without an issue
the error is related to not finding longpolling but i can not find any option to disable longpoll checking

I've been using cgminer all the time and there's no problem.

i wanted to try run this on my pc in solo
but the weird part is i can't get cgminer 3.3.1 to run
it simply fails with pool not responding and longpoll error

the amazing thing is old reaper does run

here is my config file :

 {
"pools" : [
   {
      "name" : "elephant",
      "url" : "http://192.168.178.121:12337",

for solo the rpc port should be 13809? seems you used a different port (12337).

Nice. Getting a few elp coming in from my 7870LE.
I sent a tweet to cryptsy asking them to add the coin. Rec'd a reply from BigVern saying he'd look into it so it would be a good time for others to do the same.

cheers.

Thanks, thisnewcoin. Bounty received.  Now where do I put all these elephants?  Smiley
lol, keep them, hope you will hit a golden elephant (superblock) soon  Wink

Hope I'd get a golden elephant soon. Suggestion: would be good to show a different image (e.g. golden elephant) if a superblock is hit Wink

Sam, good suggestion, I'll see if I can add this feature.

looking forward to the feature Cheesy

Give it time...all of the elephants are less than a day old at the moment.  In due course, services and goods will come along.

I think Elephantcoins would be great for animal conservation-based stuff...they would be ideal for the Tusk Trust to accept for example (does anyone know anyone who has contacts there or in this type of organization?).  Another idea could be animal-based games.  With a bit of imagination and creativity elephants could be big!

 Grin good ideas, looking forward to play some games with it
