Elephantcoin IS being traded at Cryptopia!

Due to the high difficulty however, it has stalled out and Cryptopia has placed it into maintenance mode.  It's not THAT high by other coin standards (only 33), but that's high enough that those that used to get by CPU mining with the wallet, now find themselves taking months to find a block (it used to take hours).

So those of you with extra hashpower, will you help us get it rolling again?  Download the wallet, bootstrap it, start mining, and trade your newfound Elephant wealth for LTC on Cryptopia!  Cheesy

You are up to date, that’s the last block.  Difficulty is high with very few miners, so it’s stalled out.  The app expects a block every minute, so after hours/days have passed it assumes it is out of sync, even though it isn’t.

My wallet is out of sync (Windows). The current and estimated number of blocks (3096599) are the same with the last block time around December 18 or 19 depending on your time zone. I have 10 active connections to the network. Any ideas on how to get me up to date?

Ugh.  Someone jumped in last night and ran the difficulty up even higher.  Now over 33.

Yup.  It looks like someone had some serious hash-power going, then moved on around November 20th.  I just found block 2921592 today after mining for three days.  At this rate it will be nearly 5 months before another difficulty re-target.   Ugh.

so you have the .dat from criptsy?

Yes.  And it is a beast.  It had over 3000 incoming addresses listed and an insane amount of coins.  It's taken me days to transfer all the coins out to a new wallet and I'm still not done.  I keep running up on limitations in the client as to how many coins I can send at once.  I must be getting into the smaller transactions now as I keep having to lower the amount before it will send.

BTW: If anyone lost ELP to Cryptsy, give me your address and I'll do my best to figure out how many there were and send them back to you...plus extra.  Cheesy

thats gr8  Cheesy  somewhere in my archives there's an old list from criptsy of all i held on there, have to dig it out ...  awesome effort Planethill

So, whatever you do...don't post your ELP address here!  Because if you do, you would receive a crapload of free ElephantCoins for fun, and to help keep it alive.

No takers?   Cry

Worthless? = Perhaps
Pointless? = Maybe
Silly? = Probably
Dead? = Not yet!

You probably think ElephantCoin is dead.  You probably feel liking mocking it.  Yet, here you are.

You probably don't want a big pile of ElephantCoins free, from the recovered Cryptsy wallet referenced above.  Because, you would have to admit you want some.

So, whatever you do...don't post your ELP address here!  Because if you do, you would receive a crapload of free ElephantCoins for fun, and to help keep it alive.

Remember...you don't want these.  After all, they are worthless.   Cheesy

Our team obtained many of the cryptocurrencies that were frozen on Cryptsy's servers when the exchange collapsed. The ElephantCoin wallet.dat was among those recovered.

We are now in the process of giving these wallet files back to their respective communities. The wallet has not been inspected and it's unknown if it contains any coins. If you are a developer of this coin, or a longstanding community member, you can file a request for the wallet in this thread: https://www.gldtalk.org/index.php?topic=3789.0
