For those of you that have seen the movie Forrest Gump remember the scene were young Jennie yells to young Forrest "RUN FORREST RUN' comes to mind

Nope that doesn't really come to mind, but thanks for the ill-founded analogy.

Sorry to revisit a topic that's been beaten to death already, but can someone help me understand why I'm frequently not moving up in the queue after a block is solved. For example, the last 6 blocks: block #'s "378,967", "379,009", and "379,011" were solved and I've remained 19th in the queue after each of these;  prior to this blocks #'s "378,792", "378,776" and "378,775" were solved and I stayed 20th in the queue. Is this because miners with large minimum-payouts were ahead in the queue, and fulfilling their payment bumped me back a spot? (or rather, prevented me from moving up in the queue) I'm just trying to understand why this happens so often. It didn't seem to occur as frequently when I started mining on Eligius, but now it's like clockwork. Thanks

Update: Blocks 379,029 and 379,069 have been solved... still 19 in the queue. Is this normal??

You probably mean 1 in 66 times less lucky than last year, otherwise you are saying that we exceeded the expected luck.

Oh yes haha

Luck is luck.  I promise if there was a luck dial I could turn up I would do so.

Also, every single bitcoin payout from Eligius mined blocks is 100% public and verifiable, also.  Every single satoshi mined by the pool can be traced back via the data from the API and compared to the blockchain. There are already at least a few people who use this data to do such verifications on a regular basis (and who are quick to inform me when the API is out of sync for whatever reason).

As for the payout queue being long.... that's entirely my fault.  The back end updates and changes I've been doing over the past couple of weeks have taken up more time than I expected.  As part of that I've had to have the reward system paused at times, so the queue grew a bit.

I will do my best to make time for a full manual catch up within the next couple of days.  Right now completing the back end upgrades is more pressing since a lot of the automation I've had in place for a while is not operating until I complete everything and a lot of mundane maintenance I'm doing manually in the meantime, taking more time.

I promise I am working on it though!

I have been mining for around a year on eligius with around 19 BTC payout total, and my total luck is 95.35% right now. That is pretty awful considering the time frame..

I mine on two addresses, the older one shows 93.6% shares rewarded.

Well this is a bummer: three blocks away from a payout and I got bumped to the back of the queue with only 80% of my unpaid balance paid. I'm guessing this has to do with a manual payout? The remainder still shows in my unpaid balance, but damn, now I have to wait 20 more blocks to collect it (that is, assuming this doesn't happen again, or there's no fail-safe thingy that extends the queue).

There hasn't been a manual payout.  If there had been the queue would be a lot shorter.  I always wondered what would happen if only part of what was owed was paid in a block, now I guess we both know.

One Question to the Merged Mining.

I have set up mein NMC Merged Mining Addr for a long long time ago, and as i last night take a look into the BTC-E Account i have 7 NMC on my account :-)
How dos i found a NMC and how much NMC get i per 1 TH/s and Month on Eligius?

NMC payouts are sporadic.  There are no stats.  Every so often you just get paid out.

good point: aren't luck supposed to be close to 100% over long periods?
I also mined on the same machine exactly a year and my luck record is 94.25%

http://organofcorti.blogspot.no/2015/07/faq-bitcoin-mining-and-luck-statistic.html

So I read this and as far I understood calculated the approximate chance of being as unlucky as eligius have been:

http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=CDF(ErlangDistribution(2000%2C+2000)%2C+1.0487)

Apparently it's 1.5%..
1 in every 66 times the pool would be more lucky than it has been last year. Confirms the feeling that it has been awful..

That is pretty atrocious. I wonder why people mine here - obviously not for profit?  Cheesy Wink

Also, what about the slow payouts?
Why the counter has to run to 0.28-0.3 before the payout?
Before it was 0.04-0.05

i have noticed that most of the miners on eligius (me included) are around 93% payouts. i begin to not like this statistic..it has to mean that in a way or other this is a 7% fee pool Sad
No, because fees would be taken out after the risk/luck factor.
agreed...but this "luck" is to of the bad one for a while now. i begin wonder if the payout is honest

Hi. I have ben mining for about 2 months now on eligius. But it seems that i always get less coins than what i should get.
My average gh/s is 3,629.51 Gh/s for over a very long period. But i am just getting around 0.0229 per day. Where i should get 0.0298.

I have 3 Antminer S5 with temps around 50-55c

Im just curious. Any ideas why its like that?
Btw i have about 1% Hw Error after 27 days up time and less than 0.002% rejected.

The last couple of weeks have been very unlucky, that is probably skewing the average.

On the stats page you can see the total luck percent over the course of your mining.

Okay. Is it just beacause of that? I am lossing about 1/3 om my total reward. Seems little to much.

The total percent is about 90%

If the total luck is 90% then you should have earned 90% of the expected amount since you started.

How are you calculating the expected and actual earnings to get only two thirds?
