Sorry, I must be too tired or something... I can't see how this is possible.
Analysing a core dump, I can see it's not getting into vecPriority, but getrawtransaction is succeeding so it must be in the mempool or confirmed... and it obviously isn't confirmed. Yet I don't see how it's possible for it to be in the mempool and not be making it into vecPriority without the "invalid input" logging, which isn't in the log file either.
Stumped. :/

This one is clearly above 0.0001 BTC/KB, so Luke, where exactly is the problem?
Not sure why this time, but Eligius's node still didn't receive it.

Just this one or all of the unconfirmed (like 10 of them)?
I see ccc86e9316fcd17f1cf1223c5f1dd64633e70a150a71a1c6a53b0fe0d6f39991 and 04515f9e358dbff637ee3c6c31471d2b2a8be91ddb75b4fa4872b4c5568f796e on the node, but not being mined.
04515... was being mined an hour ago, though.
I wonder what's going on with that.

It's still shown as being unconfirmed: http://btc.blockr.io/tx/info/04515f9e358dbff637ee3c6c31471d2b2a8be91ddb75b4fa4872b4c5568f796e

Where did you see it being mined?
In a template. We didn't find a block during that time, so it's not on the blockchain.

The most recent one comes out to 0.00004919 BTC/kB, less than half the standard minimum fee of 0.0001 BTC/kB.

exactly 0.0001BTC/kb

Thank you, didn't even catch that Luke's calculation was wrong. Anyway; we use BitGo for sending transactions and they automatically adjust fees. This one is clearly above 0.0001 BTC/KB, so Luke, where exactly is the problem?

Could you fix your filters? You mine half empty blocks, but you don't include our perfectly valid non-spam transactions: https://www.nicehash.com/?p=miners&payments
Your transactions don't include the minimum standard fee, and they're low priority inputs, so they never even make it to the pool server...

Does this mean you consider them as a spam?
It means every node considers them as "spam".
Obviously they're not actually spam, but they match the algorithm shipped with the reference software for a long time...
Should still get mined once the inputs mature enough to be considered medium-priority, though - might need to rebroadcast.
Another idea is you could get the raw transaction to us somehow and maybe we can figure out a way to force it in (although I don't think Bitcoin Core has an override for the basic relay rules right now).

What is up with eligius not including as many transactions in its block as it can? The bitcoin network is under huge load these days, and almost all blocks are pushed to the edge of the size limit. Except eligius's, most blocks are only a fraction of the max size: https://blockchain.info/blocks/Eligius

Eligius is one of the few miners responsible enough to not include spam in its blocks.
"As many transactions ... as it can" is not the goal miners should be going for.

How does the pool run without taking a % fee or transaction fees from blocks? Solely from donations?

Currently donations and volunteer work fully support the pool.  No need to have a fee.

Greetings Eligius Miners,

So, today BIP66, the enforcement of v3-only blocks, took effect and it turns out a couple of large pools were using a broken mining setup that landed them on the wrong side of a chain fork.  It looks like it cost those pools about 150 BTC in lost blocks due to them mining on top of invalid blocks.  F2Pool and Antpool specifically.... (all of the gory details available in the #bitcoin-dev logs from the past couple of hours.)

Eligius was mining on the correct chain the entire time and Eligius nodes and miners never saw the invalid chain, so no wasted work was done here.

I went through the invalid chain and grabbed transactions from those blocks and made sure they were added to Eligius's memory pool for prioritized mining on the correct chain in an effort to help out.  That way no one on an older or broken client would see a fully confirmed transaction drop to zero confirmations.  It looks like Eligius was able to mine a block just as I was pushing those transactions to our mining servers and most of them were included.  The rest appear to have already been mined by other pools and the few stragglers are prioritized in Eligius's memory pool for our next block.

So, carry on!  Business as usual here. Smiley

Thanks for mining with us!

Glad to know that I'm mining on a pool which is fully aware of what was to come!
