I figured out how to use the "load-balance" : true, feature in cgminer so half my power is pointed here and the other half is pointed to CoinKing. It will be interesting to see how these two pools compare over time.

Well it's sort of free money in a sense  Cheesy surely would bring more people to mine with us. I for one would like the idea.

Unobtanium coin would be about it .I don't care about alt coins with sha256 coin mining sense to me if your going to mine Sha256 type coins just do BTC.

I do script mining to, others may say it's worth less mining script alt coins but it can be very good, i wouldn't mine 256sha alt coins.

I recently started mining and I am liking Eligius. So long as they are honest + offer me possibility of mergemine namecoin (I know it is dying, but it's money anyway!) + 0 fee + tx fees, I will not care about delays and queues  Cheesy
We are on a bad luck spree but I believe in statistics rather than luck. In the long run probability always reaches 100%.

Could we add more coins to the merge mining list? Perhaps someone else experienced could help so that developer doesn't get overwhelmed. The more the better, right?
Thanks!

There are currently no other coins that can be merge-mined (that I'm aware) that are worth the resourced needed to mine them.  ixcoin no longer has a block subsidy, devcoin is worth something like 0.00000002 BTC per DVC, i0coin takes a ton of resources and is worth nearly nothing, huntercoin I haven't kept up with, but looking at the exchange rate it'd be nearly pointless to merge mine also.

I wonder why don't more people use Eligius. It struck me as best pool since it has no fee at all + possible to merge mine nmc, right?
Would it be just because they only mine 1-2 blocks per day + have queue or am I missing something here?

My main reasons for using this Pool no fees, the pay out system and you don't lose much if you go off line or leave the pool mid way.

merge mine nmc don't mean much to me . as the Pool OP said there not doing to well right now they still kind of pay good but no real support almost any were.

my second most used/loved Pool is slushe's pool . my only beef there is if I leave I lose anything in Q  or come in during a long line of blocks you kind of have to wait to see some form of payout were as here you start mining in that block or blocks right a way it seems.

but sadly this pool is failing more and more every day, i fear, one day, I'll have to find another one like it which so far from all my searches, there is not one, I'll stay til it is no longer profit able to.

This is a one of kind pool.

I'm going to catch the queue up soon (probably tomorrow).  So, that will solve that issue for a while.

I can understand how this is a problem to others. I rather await 7 days and receive full btc with 0 fee + nmc mining than pay fee/lose tx fees.
Is that the only problem or am I missing/wrong on something?

Go Big or Go Home.....
Recently the crazy long payment delay made me rethink of sending anything here. 7days to get paid after entering the queue. Ugh.

Thank you for offering us the opportunity to merge mine for it until it dies off Smiley

where can i see my nmc amount? Roll Eyes

thx!

Has been asked many times, yet the answer is in the second post of this thread.

  • Q. How are NMC payouts done? Are there any NMC stats?
    A. NMC payouts are done infrequently as time allows at the discretion of the pool operator.  Minimum payout is 0.1 NMC.  Currently there are no stats for NMC rewards.  Since NMC has been suffering a slow death, I'm not inclined to waste resources on coding for NMC stats.

Honestly, IMO namecoin is quite dead at this point.  There is virtually no development anymore, the chain itself is full of spam and is borderline unusable for it's intended purpose anyway, adoption is virtually nil, etc.  It's pretty pointless these days.  Cool concept, poor execution.

That said, I have no inclination to waste more resources on namecoin related things than I already am. (Ie, never going to code stats for it.)

Edit: Going to edit that second post to better reflect the current state of affairs.

Looks like Wizkid just did the NMC payouts.  Either that or someone randomly sent me some for no reason.  Wink

Are NMC payouts working correctly? I have put an NMC address in my configuration page, but after two days I have not received a payout to that address. Is there a minimum balance requirement before payout?

I'm pretty sure NMC payouts are manual.  They are also very irregular.  I think I get one every few months.

Oh, I though you were responding to Kano.

Yeah, I was agreeing with Kano. If I use a pool it's so I can get a definite payout in a short period of time. If I wanted to maximize my payout in the long run but not have any guarantee that the long-run completes within my lifetime, I'd solo mine.

Poor impulse control.
I think it's worth noting that with other pools you would have zero chance of getting paid for shares discarded during bad luck times. At least here those shares are never forgotten.
However, unlike PPLNS, you also have no chance of ever being paid more than PPS.
You win some you lose some Tongue

Yeah I'm not sure that a tiny chance of a dust payment at some unknown time in the future is worth much of anything. Maybe if you could transfer it to someone else for free. Smiley

The purpose of pools is supposed to be to get rid of those very small possibilities and indefinite timelines, isn't it?

PPLNS will pay some shares multiple times, and some shares not at all. Approximately half of income will be from shares will be paid more than PPS, and half your income from shares paid less than PPS. So being paid more than PPS by PPLNS is not a "very small possibility" on an "indefinite timeline", but a normal part of mining.

Umm, yeah, I was referring to CPPSRB. Tongue Yes, there's a chance that those buried shares I have on the Eligius pool might one day pay out, but if it ever happens most likely I'll never even know about it, because I don't ever go there any more. Those shares *are* forgotten by me. I guess if they ever get paid out that they'll eventually get escheated to the state.

Oh, I though you were responding to Kano. Well, my post stands, I guess. Even though it had nothing to do with your comment, heh.
