Sorry, by "anti-bitcoin" i wasn't meaning "bitcoin killer" (lol).
Anti-bitcoin in terms of anti-active development, anti-scarcity and anti-useful (and more), so kind of the opposite of Bitcoin in the cryptoverse
It's just a joke, but twitter peeps took it too serious. Good for Doge, anyway. But honey badger doesn't care  Cool
Yeah, no worries as I thought I knew what you meant and it for just to put some humor into this as that is all musk is doing for his take on crypto as a whole actually, just creating something to laugh at. Ha Ha! Cheesy

The only anti-bitcoin I can think of is BSV (Satoshi's vision) but that is just a farce and not worth mentioning on this thread since it's about Elon & his on stage performance if it actually manifests into anything tonight.
Only 6 more hours to go so to see what all the HYPE is about. Wink
The price has tumbled from being $0.719 at it all time high and now is sitting at $0.649. Which isn't too bad still from being half of that earlier in the week before all the FOMOing started happening prior to the mass media grabbing hold and running with it.
ABC Australia: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m8peN_Dt1Yk

The show must go on as Freddie Mercury has always said! Grin

But interesting what is going on just mere hours before anything is to manifest in on itself yet:
BILLIONAIRES JUST SHORTED DOGECOIN! DOGECOIN CRASH INCOMING?

That one who is tweeting in response to Silbert is apparently the creator of Dogecoin. Cheesy

My opinion is Elon mask is just for crypto.
He made huge profit more than selling his company's electric car, even he was not a professional one.
Now he is showing interest on doge coin, and at once the price of it's increased. Crypto currency are decentralized but now we can say the price of currency are centralized by Elon mask.

Bitcoin is an investment place no more than that, I bet there will just a few people who will make bitcoin as mean of payment. Take a look how much money that have to spend for one transaction, who can do that? I guess no.

I mean, the announchment from Tesla just to attract a lot of people to buy bitcoin so as they will get a huge profit from the announchment. I'll do the same thing when I have popularity, at least this will take a FOMO and make a lot of profit.

Man who stares at charts (and stars, too...)
Elon Musk is a cult figure for some of the smartest people on the planet. So what he's doing with the Dogecoin baffles me.
I mean, they say the Internet doesn't recognize any form of hierarchy, but I think Musk has delusions of god-like grandeur.
Basically, he is kind of joking around.
DOGE is THE prototype of a useless coin or "anti-bitcoin".
According to his "fate loves irony" statement, he propagated DOGE because he was sure that it will pump some day.
It became a self fulfilling prophecy, also because of his tweets.
On the other hand, following twitter for at least a whole Bitcoin halvening cycle, you may be aware that some - probably many - other people also wrote tweets like "DOGE!", "DOGE TO THA MOON!", and so on, which didn't get any attention.
Honestly, who DIDN'T think that DOGE will pump after Musk's related weets. I wonder if he took advantage or if he just did it for the lulz.
This is the first time I have seen someone say another coin is the anti-bitcoin. Embarrassed

What makes it so unappealing to the bitcoin maximalists and not some other coin such as ethereum? Undecided

Anyways the last tweet from elon really rallied the musketeers right before the big show tonight.

Think this will be the movement to mass media, whether that be good or bad for bitcoin, that crypto was waiting for.
I am not sure if I have succumb to the FUD but I think most who have suffered in the past year from what has been going on in the world (and still is!)
needed a break of this kind even if it is just a joke! Cheesy

In my opinion, one does not interfere with the other. Yes, Elon Musk supports bitcoin and cryptocurrencies, but just like any CEO and business owner, he thinks about his capital and about his investors and shareholders. I personally do not see any conflict of interest or anything like that here. Everything is logical and understandable. Well, when he manages to do both, it is only worth envying in a good way.

Or what if he is just trying to cope up with the new technology ? Or he is just trying to make some money with cryptocurrencies. For famous and rich people it is very easy to Manipulate the market which makes them earn big in small short term investments and at the same time if they loose a little it does not harm them. So I do think he is experimenting and since his company is already so software pro he just wants to be in tune with all the new innovations. There are actually people who would love to buy a Tesla with Bitcoins! He is just expanding his business which is all good. Until he tries to Manipulate the market like he did in the past with Bitcoins.

EM is a man who lives for profit and his companies that bring him profit - and if he has felt something in cryptocurrencies that can bring him even more profit, he clearly shows that he will make the most of such an opportunity.
Not sure he lives for profit alone as i was following him and he sold all of his expensive properties and now living in a rented property and he did not create SpaceX initial to create profit, he created because he wanted to explore the impossibilities and his company was loosing billions for a long time until it turned profit after years of hard work and failures.

For days I have been hearing from various sources that EM will announce something tonight that will, as always, affect the price of some coins - so I already have a feeling that one man is moving the market in the direction he wants - for some it may be fun, but such power in the hands of one man is not something I like too much.
There is no doubt and the way in which he has the power to manipulate the market is simply mind boggling, i initially thought he was trolling the cryptocurrency market with his Dogecoin tweets but who would have thought that these would become serious manipulation of the market.

Yeah, I think McAfee was caught promoting alt coins and got nailed by the SEC when he got caught in the US.
So he was made an example for these characters not to use their celebrity status to FUD these alt coins so to pump their bags.
Ha, I even know who had a hand in that!

I'm pretty sure things are different with Musk, given the influence of his companies on politics US and on the mentality of ordinary citizens. Even if any accusation was brought against him, it would be just a formality (judging by the meager fines). In addition, I am also confident that the trial in this case [if any] will not take place until Elon is accused of speculating with WSB/GME (I would say that such a trial would be more logical than the situation with Dodge).

Elon musk a viral face in the cryptocurrencies market, his only one tweet captured the whole dogecoin market and pumped over 900% . Some experts predict that elon musk already tricked to pay attention with his tesla and space 🚀 X .

Miley Cyrus wearing Doge, its funny but its also going to be a massive promotion to the youth.

Though I'm starting to look at him as the next John Macafee, this is still a big promotion for Doge. The Doge millionaire guy actually believes that Dogecoin will be a household name after this Elon announcement on SNL. Nothing to lose for Elon, he is going to win a lot of money from this.
in theory, this is what some people hope, especially those who still hold doge as their asset.
because for now there are so many people who join in this doge without realizing it actually benefits a lot of people actually. starting from small traders who take advantage of the coming crazy pump that keeps happening until yes the most fortunate ones are the ones who make these pumps happen.
With the arrival of young artists like Miley, there will probably be more who participate in this doge I think

A year ago and earlier I thought of Elon Musk as some sort of a trickster of the crypto world. Sometimes he tweeted something positive and people vere excited, but I think he also said some negative stuff about cryptos back then. However, I believe that things have truly changed during the last Bitcoin ATH (so, about at the end of 2020), and he realized that Bitcoin is clearly something huge that can get even bigger, and that he should take it seriously. As for Doge, it's a joke to everyone, so I think it's okay that it's a joke to him as well. I have no idea what he's planning for SNL, but I think it'll be about joking around.

what we have to understand first is who is Elon Musk Huh he is a businessman whose goal is to develop his business as advanced as possible and he wants to profit from every effort he puts in. remember, he will not do anything without expecting a reward he will not do work in vain. he's jumped into crypto with a few tweets and people laughing. he is a great person, whatever he does everyone must say it's cool, yes he is the one

I think for both, Elon is on crypto to both promote Tesla and hype on doge, I really do not know his deal with doge, what is his attraction to that coin,  he can't tell me because of the tech, so why doge is the coin of the people according to him?
Elon turned out to be the best thing that happen to dogecoin no doubt.

Once a man, twice a child!
DOGE is THE prototype of a useless coin or "anti-bitcoin".
Keep calling Dogecoin a useless coin while a lot of people are profiting from its sudden rise. I have had the opportunity of using Dogecoin a few times and I can say it's more convenient and fast to use than Bitcoin.

On the Elon posturing, I think any publicity is publicity whether good or bad. For the fact that the public values his tweets to make them hurry up and buy seemingly unprofitable tokens shows how powerful a figure Elon is. We shouldn't jettison that fact whether we think Elon is playing to the gallery or not. Let's enjoy this moment with Doge.

I think Elon Musk can fit in both worlds because we know that Elon is popular in both topics, whether it is crypto or tech company, While Tesla and SpaceX are just a part of Elon Musk's Bigger real-world empire of technologically advance businesses because of that IMO, Elon can be fit anywhere because of his popularity. he is capable to hype anything and put the topic on the mainstream that was the power of popularity and money and Elon Musk has possessed both.

I am sure that this outstanding person pursues purely the goal of increasing the profitability of his business, because all manipulations with bitcoin, thanks to his name and the TESLA brand, are aimed at increasing his income in his companies, he does it very beautifully, I never cease to be surprised and admire this person.

On the other hand, the media adores him because he has an army of blind followers who jump on his every word or tweet, and he himself does not hide how much he enjoys being in the spotlight - all this means that everyone makes money while the masses have fun - win-win situation for everyone.

But him mentioning he will only sell once it reaches $10mln.
After tomorrow let us see what happens as it is reaching the $1 prediction as most were hoping for before the controversial event.
Will Elon mention it or not and it dumps?
I do find it strange that an alt coin requires someone of influence to mention it just once for it's dependent to either survive or die. Undecided
Absolute craziness. Why wait for 10 million when he could simply cash out his profits right now? This guy is clearly a hardcore Dogecoin HODLER though exposing himself for the sake of popularity seems like a silly move.

Hackers could target him thanks to his massive investments which is why he should have stayed anonymous in my opinion. He is one fearless and gutsy guy.

I think he is a hodler as well.
But I also think it is because the platform he is using to hold those doge doesn't allow him to make a simple withdrawal as they have had issues in the past with alot of their customers when they want to initiate a withdrawal the system goes down. Embarrassed
Or it simply is like paypal and their crypto wallets where you can buy the crypto but can not do anything with it.
This I do not know as I am not one of their customers. Undecided

what is this "brake pedal" you speak of?
i think hes just having fun. and the doge phenomenon is fun to play with especially when you dont really care about money (to a point anyway).

sorta like hes testing doge like he tests rockets. beat it, test to destruction (or success) and learn what you can. then apply anything applicable to the real deal.. bitcoin.

of course being in the media for this doesnt hurt his companies either.

got my doge sells lined up on an exchange, should be fun tonight on SNL.

For me he's just for attention. Whrein making positive thoughts but the fact that he actually here to advertise the coins because of being popular. Indeed he always make post in different accounts especially twitter wherein afterwards those are making changes because of him.. I dont know if his belong to the whales but seems the post from him is very informative and the coins he's always mentioned is literally makes an improvement afterwards. Maybe he's a whales also?
