elon is not bank account the richest guy in the world
elon is valuation on paper richest

this is because when someone pays just a couple hundred dollars for 1 share, it changes the valuation of all shares, even if only 1 share is traded
the companies he owns VALUATIONS are not the same as the amount of money in the bank
..

Elon is not a micro investor that only buys into a small community or industry.
he sees the big picture deals that stretch across many industries

did you know that he wanted to mine asteroid gold decades ago
he wants to be the service guy offering electric moon cars to colonists. drills to miners and rockets to the space transport industries

all his things like:
boring (tunnels for underground road networks)
solar (to charge electric vehicles)
tesla(electric cars)
space X(rockets)

are all just R7D projects for mining in space. yes while developing these he is profiting by selling his products to us earthlings on the ground

but the ultimate plan that has been in the works for decades is using all of these research products as a final speace mining project

..
bitcoin talk is not a community that discuss things of wide mutly industry implications. its not even a wide userbase, and advertising again limited to the community we are in.

there is no big picture multi industry business reason to buy bitcoin ta;lk for elon

space is a wide open void, where just communicating from earth to mars is upto 20 minutes delayed
blockchain synchronisation to stay at blockheight of any blockchain is not really viable
coins with a 30second block would be out of sync by 40+ blocks by the time they reach mars, even bitcoin with the longest blocktime of 10mins would be out of sync by 2 blocks.

elon for his earth based personal investment(he personally does not want to be in space as a colonist) likes crypto for its earth based utility.. but its not one for space based utility

This will not be a good thing for the Bitcoin community, when a Free speech platform get into the hands of someone that wants to control "free speech" to gain profit. Yes, Theymos might profit from advertisements ...but I believe most of the money goes into the operating expenses of this forum.

The forum will also receive too much "negative" attention, if a high profile business tycoon like Elon Musk shows interest in this forum. Let's keep this simple ... "Talk about Bitcoin and related topics" and leave the rich people to play with rockets and electric cars.  Wink

First, you need to tell why do you think he will buy back bitcointalk? he is an entrepreneur not a pure investor or a crypto trader. Twitter can be profitable and a lot of benefits for him but with bitcointalk definitely not. In other words, twitter and bitcointalk are not the same, bitcointalk is not a place that can make a profit for someone's business but twitter was created for that purpose.

Bitcointalk is not for regular people actually. You'll know this if you try introducing this forum to local forums. Unless Elon has his own Bitcoin casino.
Bitcointalk is not for regular people actually, what do you mean? I think the forum is for all those, who love crypto and especially bitcoin. It's not just for gambling enthusiasts.

Elon Musk bought Twitter so that he can gain a tremendous power on public opinion and with the US government. As they say in democracies: if you control public opinion, you control the public. And public opinion is formed (and brainwashed) through the social media on top of mainstream media. Having control over one of the biggest social media outlets gives Musk a lot of power.

Bitcointalk on the other hand is a forum for discussion not for forming the public opinion. It is not giving Musk any benefits even if he had control over it. Not to mention that bitcoiners already have a negative opinion of him because of his FUDs and altcoin scams.

So we not surprise when elon reach into his deep pocket to buy twitter in billion dollar. Because he have unlimited money.

I was imagine when he find this forum that look unique because Satoshi was create this forum like he create bitcoin,
and after he look unique and look philanthropy then he want to buy this forum,

are you guy agree if Elon buy bitcointalk forum?,
that look superior if bitcointalk owned by a richest person like elon.
I do not agree, and I see that this is just a rumor. In fact, Elon Musk is a businessman looking for investments that make his capital multiply quickly and looking for innovation and wants his voice and proposals to reach his fans around the world, so he bought Twitter because it is a global social platform that includes businessmen and communities in all industries and not only in cryptocurrency, I do not see any real reason why Elon would buy a Bitcointalk forum, although this forum is a unique and old forum and has a large community of investors and traders of cryptocurrencies and projects, and it is the source of Bitcoin that was created by the founder Satoshi, but for Elon, I think that buying a forum is not from his real goals.

Not gonna happen mate, Elon will not be interested on a forum like this, its really different platform compared from social medias like Twitter, Facebook I dont know the reason why Elon bought twitter maybe for money making machine or for just for helping humanity which he was talking lately, We all know that twitter is one of the largest social media today and more people are using it to share information publicly in a more faster way, which maybe Elon wants.

1. Elon is wealthy but he doesn't have "unlimited" money
2. Elon wouldn't be interested in Bitcointalk
3. We don't need to agree nor disagree if Elon wants to buy Bitcointalk because we don't own it. It will totally depend on Theymos

I do not remember reading or hearing that Elon Musk has any interest in this forum at all, after all to me he is not someone that is interested in any kind of ideology and he is only interested in making a lot of money, but even if at some point in the future Elon Musk or some other billionaire shows interest in buying this forum for some reason they will have to convince theymos to sell it, something which will not be easy at all if not outright impossible.

He won't be interested in bitcointalk forum. What is he going to achieve by taking over the forum? Nothing. Twitter is going to make him money, but this forum isn't going to make him anything. If he was interested in the forum to make it a "better" place, he could just make a new account and start giving suggestions and that is it. He would be saving himself millions of dollars.

Anyway, if he did want to buy the forum, I doubt anyone would agree to sell it.

First of all Satoshi won’t approve this.

Let’s suppose in some parallel universe it happens, next we know

1. Theymos is fired
2. For legendary status you have to pay $8/month
3. Merits becomes new shitcoin

I don't think though Elon is be interested on bitcointalk, what will he gain if he buy this community? Remember that he is a business man and everything he buy has some business narrative behind, so I doubt that he will earn big by acquiring bitcointalk.

And Theymos or the one that has control of this won't allow it I speculate.

With that said, I will or doesn't want Elon to buy, and if that happen, not sure what will happen to this community.

Bitcointalk is like the other forum out there but the difference is Satoshi created Bitcointalk for the next discussion about bitcoin. I can not imagine what Bitcointalk would be if he bought Bitcointalk. Maybe he will spread his propaganda or his dirty plan to people. I really hope that he does not want to buy Bitcointalk. But as a businessman, Elon may try to search for other things that can make him more popular than buying Bitcointalk so I do not see that he will be interested in buying Bitcointalk.

No, new ownership will give birth to some new rules. Elon Musk is a reliable businessman, of course everything really depends on financial gain. His ideology is very different from those on the Bitcointalk forum, he is not fit to be the owner of Bitcointalk even though he has a lot of money to buy it.
Satoshi has designed Bitcointalk so beautifully, he dedicated the Bitcointalk forum to us, so Bitcointalk is not for sale.

First and foremost, Bitcointalk is not a money-making machine, so I doubt Elon would be interested in this forum. Second, this forum is a Bitcoin-centered site and Elon is not really a big fan of it, so I don't think he would be drawn toward this idea.

But since this is a question of if, I don't agree if Elon is going to buy it. He would only be turning this forum into something else we won't probably like. But then, of course, my agreement doesn't matter, although I think many would also be opposing it.

I am sure Elon Musk is not going to be interested in buying a forum that is focused on Bitcoin and cryptocurrency in general. Remember that Elon Musk is a businessman...he will not get into anything if the possible return on investment is not going to be high. He bought Twitter because he can see its potential to add more financial clout on his part and I can feel that he is also looking at it like a toy that can boost his popularity and reach of audience. He will not gain those if he is the owner of this forum. Besides, this forum is not for sale, anyway.

Elon wants publicity like Justin Sun. He'd be more interested in a platform where billions of people on it interested in trolling than bitcointalk which has particular visitors more interested in crypto discussion. The demographics ain't perfect for his company or EV promotion.

Bitcointalk is not for regular people actually. You'll know this if you try introducing this forum to local forums. Unless Elon has his own Bitcoin casino.

He is not so rich that money is unlimited, even though he is the richest man in the world, he does not always have billions of dollars in his bank account. In the acquisition of twitter, in addition to selling off Tesla shares, he also received a lot of help from other shareholders, including CZ.

I was imagine when he find this forum that look unique because Satoshi was create this forum like he create bitcoin,

He doesn't love crypto as many people think, he buys twitter all for his business benefit, not for bitcoin or doge. Don't think that he is the savior of the market. He can buy TW, can buy Facebook... but I never thought he would think of buying bitcointalk, it's not beneficial for his business.

If someone tried to buy bitcointalk, they'd probably be rejected so that's the first hurdle a perspective buyer would have to deal with on their reputation.

The second and probably more important issue is that this forum is being tested to run in a more open source way receiving a lot of collaborations from volunteers, if there was a for profit motive of the forum, you're going to be a lot less likely to keep those volunteers working here and stopping them from making a rival.

Also, advertisers on Bitcointalk had to jump through a lot of hoops to do it and were still doing that while advertisers on twitter didn't and many left very early on when it changed owners.

No, he won't want to buy Bitcointalk, never.

Because bitcointalk is not a fancy platform to build connections and shill your posts to walls, notifications of other users who are in or not in your connection/ friend/ follower list.

It is different than social media platforms like Facebook or Twitter when your notifications will be spammed with many statuses and tweets from others.

Bitcointalk is not a place for Elon Musk to play with his jokes that he always loves to do.
