I would suggest some radically different security concept for Bitcoinica.
Like having dedicated servers and admins or using multi-sig software.
It certainly would seem to be cheaper than continuously losing these amounts of Bitcoin.

Why can't anyone come up with a funny meme style graphic like this that is Bitcoin positive?

Are they still stealing or they receive tips? The wallet which has received stollen bitcoins is getting even more funds! 80 BTC recently added to the wallet.

Well damn. I just sent a deposit to GLBSE too.

It'll get there, just you won't be able to do anything with it while it is :p

At least there needs to be (i) a reimbursement and (ii) heightened security measures implemented in the near future.[/color]

Zhoutong's wording make me doubt they can afford it.

It's probably the end of Bitcoinica. They might as well cash out.
I believe this is the end to Bitcoinica. Who in their right mind would do any business with them :/

Meanwhile ...bitcoin is crashing lol ....time to sell!

I cannot see that it is crashing. I am watching BTC to USD on MtGox (http://bitcoincharts.com) and it fluctuates between 4.88 and 4.95 for last 6 hours and attack was just 3 hours ago. So far buisness as usual.

I think whoever is targetting to crash the market with bad publicity started early this year, last year it only started around July, heh.

So although it is way too late now, I wonder if this may be helpful to recover from the inevitable future issues...: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/how-to-prove-that-you-owncontrol-a-private-key-after-it-has-been-stolen-80862

GLBSE is under very heavy load

We're aware of the recent break-in at Bitcoinica and believe that GLBSE is also being targeted

We've taken GLBSE offline, including our very small hotwallet(and every bitCent is accounted for), and are taking steps to further secure our system.

We've been operating for over a year without any security incidents.

While you wait, have some fun.

Just to make things clear, GLBSE has not been breached and we have lost no funds, this is a precautionary measure. we've been operating for over a year without and security incidents.
