We are still in a very early stage of altcoins, and it is needed more time to develop an economic system around the bitcoin to support a massive adoption of this currency. So I think we need to be patient in our attempts to popularize it.

i think if bitcoin goes mainstream worldwide the stabilite of their prices won't change but it won't make big diffenrence whn bitcoin worth 10k couple dollars up or down won't have a big affect on the stabilite

Think the best way to get people on board is advertising through magazines and t.v ads, otherwise its just not going to push people towards adapting to a unknown. Think you build from what we all ready have established, meaning gambling would be a easy target.
You find the magazines that push gambling and you get a spot where people might notice it.
We should have a donation towards pushing this otherwise as individuals its not going to get the word out to the amount of people we would like it to.

I think ads are just waste of money. You can give your friends some small amount of Bitcoins to their smartphone instead and show them how to spend it. At least you show them Bitcoin works, so in future they wont be so sceptical about Bitcoin if there is better way to get Bitcoin than just Buying.

But you reach maybe one or two friends that may take a shining to it. If you target the gambling aspect you can attract a pretty steady amount of people. The whole poker scene is strangled due to Country limitations, sports gambling faces the same issues. You show these people that there is still a option through advertisment in select gambling magazines you could get a pretty serious bump in people.
Often see people going after markets that are not tapped into, here is one that can grow and then we can sprout off in different directions with a bigger amount of people. Would argue advertising works better than word of mouth.

I always encourage my friends and co workers to join bitcoin... but they always make fun on me... I just tell them you can earn money through bitcoin.. but they used to tell one day you will be cheated by bitcoin... definitely one day they will realize the benefits of bitcoin..

Talk to your family, friends and co-workers. Explain it with simple words, maybe show them a video.
Tell them why they should start using Bitcoin.

Most likely it won't get them to actually use it, but there is a really big chance they will change their view of Bitcoin to a more positive one.
Which will actually help Bitcoin very much in the future.

As the saying goes, "You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it drink."

Though I do believe the idea idea of giving away free bitcoin via a faucet is more effective than just trying to talk people into adopting it alone. Without owning bitcoin, a person who otherwise wouldn't have bought any btc anyways wouldn't feel "invested" and thus wouldn't really care about bitcoin either way, even if they were to listen to someone else eloquently extol all the great virtues of bitcoin.

However, if that same person were to be gifted some bitcoin, even just a tiny amount, they might then feel "invested" in the sense that they are now owners of this new bitcoin thing and part of the whole bitcoin phenomenon. And thus, they would feel more compelled to learn more about it than just all the negative things said about it in the mainstream media or from other misinformed sources. When they do that, there is a better chance of them adopting bitcoin.

Never heard of that saying, but it's a nice one. I'll keep it in mind. There are already plenty of faucets where beginners can get their first Satoshi's. Some beginners even know how to farm plenty of faucets to get a "decent" amount of Satoshi's every day. Eventually all the small amounts will form a bigger amount if they save them up. People will come, it just takes some time.

You can gauge if people are open to bitcoin by seeing how active they are online. You can drop it into conversation and see if it sticks or interest perks up. Would pass on most people over 35 due to the ones interested are mostly here or not going to take it up with out mass adoption from the hip kids.

best option would be to tailor the explanation to the preference of the single individual you're advertising btc to.
for example, explaining how btc could be a good investment to a person interested in the concept of investing and what does btc offer that fiats or other forms of investments don't.
but spending so much effort on every individual would be incredibly tedious!
which is not necessarily a bad thing just requires a strong will and some serious tenacity!

there are so many aspects and advantages to cryptos, btc in particular, to peak the interest of different people with different views and preferences.

i personally believe in showing through example!
do what you do stay involved in btc and be vocal about what you do.
if you're manage to gain some success eventually others start asking you about your methods.
once they show interest then you can spend the time and effort explaining to them how things work in btc world.
if they pay heed good for them, like many others they'll be a part a whole world of freedom and opportunity,
if not well you're already killing' it and enjoying yourself, sooo dat!

Some very interesting points made here so far. I wasn't expecting much of a response to be honest but I'm glad to be wrong. I do agree that at this stage, encouragement generally needs to be directed at businesses. I would say that supermarkets might be a great place to start with that, considering what franky1 said.

In terms of explaining it to people, I have a few ideas on that. One of them is to give people paper wallets with $5-$20 worth on them. Then sit with them and walk them through several processes like making a purchase with bitcoin and how to transfer btc between accounts. Also explaining to them how everything works as they themselves are actually doing it. People like to have their hand held through new experiences. This method also takes away the risk people would see with using their own money, at least to start with.

Another way to educate people is to sit down with them and walk them through ways of acquiring bitcoin. Starting with faucets, which may be obvious to many, but most likely not newcomers. Then move on to other possibilities such as local trading (with advice on security of course) or buying through sites. I have a few in mind but don't want to name them for multiple reasons.

My idea of pitching it big is basically the fact that I, or someone else, would personally sit down with a person and take them through the various processes. The hands-on aspect is what makes it work.

As a side note, I, or someone else, could also walk them through how to tip with bitcoin. A learning experience that benefits both parties. Not a necessary part, but a possibility.

I would say that in order to reach large numbers, you might have to advertise via social media like yahoo, twitter, Facebook and the likes. You might need to do this continuously for at least two years before seeing a significant change.

tryed to get alot of people to join but i dont know what it is , even people that think it sounds awsome with btc never buy , i think to process in some cases , like sending money to a bank exchange via bank wire takes for ever and is a hassle for what people are used to. so in short people are so f*cking lazy that u pretty much have to do it for them for them to accept bitcoins.

Well bitcoin will achieve mainstream on the next years can be 10 or more years but bitcoin will be the landscape of financial problems.

Even when bitcoin becomes main stream, there will still be financial problems in the system. Bitcoin is not to solve all the problems.
